  2. It really depends on you're opinion. Since it's told from first person there's a lot more insight when it comes to the detail of Dexter's thoughts and sense of humor.
Since the show is well, a television show, it follows storylines of other characters to allow more concepts, like relationships for example. (Deb and Quinn, Angel and Laguerta, etc.)The book follows just Dexter and who he interacts with, and in my opinion, is better.
I like how since you already know the basics of Dexter that the show has provided, it's easy to visualize what's happening in the books. To me reading the books is like watching the show go in different directions
Basically what I'm saying is that if you like the show, you'll like the books too. They're my favorite books out there, like Dexter is my favorite show. But they're two very different means of entertainment. But I DEFINITELY suggest reading the books, or at least getting a taste of them.

  4. Doakes' fate was much more awesome in the books.

  5. Sometimes novelists and non-comic writers have a hard time adjusting to the comic format.  For the fans' sake, I hope Lindsay makes a smooth transition.

  8. I dont read the books so I cannot comment on it's quality relative to the show, but I do know for a fact that except season one, none of the other seasons are adapted from the book series. The book series has different stories.
