Hey Guys,

The final eight have been decided. A mix of current shows make up the Quarter Finalists, all shows of the past have faltered and fallen, leaving two from Supernatural and one from Fringe, Game Of Thrones, Castle, Glee, The Vampire Diaries & Gossip Girl remaining. It's time for the eight to become four. It's Quarter Final time...

Today sees Peter Bishop of Fringe challenge Castiel of Supernatural, as well as Richard Castle of Castle taking on Kurt Hummel of Glee. Castiel to date has been the competitions strongest performer. Can he keep the run going and reach the semis? Time to find out...

For anyone new to the competition the rules are simple. Every day there will be a new set of polls between characters who are bidding to become the winner of the second STV Character Competition.

All you have to do is to vote for whichever characters are your favourite and at the end of the 24 hours whichever character has more votes will be the winner and will progress into the next round. There are three rounds before the quarter finals, semi finals and then the final...

  1. Hey hey hey honey. I love you but no bashing please! =D

  2. I know he probably won't beat the juggernaut that is Castiel, but I voted for Peter. Castle, also.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Easiest day of them all.  Peter - without doubt, hesitation, or even guilt.  And Castle by a couple million bestsellers.

    ReplyDelete
  4. I too hope Peter wins because I think he's a better as a character.  Plus, I 'd love to avoid another all Supernatural match.  :-)   In the end though, I think we are destined to be disappointed.

  5. I can't stop!! I'm tied to your a$$!!! xD

    ReplyDelete
  6. ... but you aren't even in my... (awkward moment)

    ReplyDelete
  7. I agree on both points.  I love Cas but he does tend to be a little one-dimensional.  Before he went crazy in the last few episodes.

In any case, in this situation most people will end up disappointed as the pool of characters is so huge and everyone wants their personal favorites to win.  I'm glad I can recognize that or I would go crazy.  Haha.

    ReplyDelete
  8. you could do better than this, c'mon...

    ReplyDelete
  9. Well, for the record, Peter is beating Castiel with 231/190 votes. I guess his lead might not last long, but let's hope beyond any hope that he can win this poll!

  10. You ask for it!

You know you like it! XD

  12. Peter & Rick... Who else???

    ReplyDelete
  13. Supernatural fans, wake the fuck up please. Now, more than ever, we need Castiel to win. Please show everyone just how much our angel matters to us.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Castiel and Castle. Gotta support my boys! :D

    ReplyDelete
  15. Peter even though I don't watch Fringe, which is funny because he's against a character from Supernatural the only show I watch. But my brackets are miraculously looking much better all of a sudden so I'm not voting against my predictions anymore.

Second poll I'm going with Kurt.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I'm sorry Peter... I love you and everything, but CASTIEL is my forever sweetest downfall.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Well it was Castiel and Castle for me.

    ReplyDelete
  18. castiel and castle

castiel because he is amazing and awesome!!
castle because i just felt like voting castle. i don't watch either show but scrolling down the page the image of kurt really annoyed me so i felt like i needed to vote against him

    castiel all the way!!

  19. You are entitled to your own opinion!  For the record I hold absolutely no resentment towards anyone, generally or specifically, but I like to be vocal about my own opinion!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Me too I would go with Castiel always and Kurt, because I don't watch Fringe as much but  I do admire Peter XD and KURT <3

  21. Castle and Castiel! Nathan needs his rematch with Misha

    ReplyDelete
  22. Peter Bishop!!!!! I love Fringe, it is  one of the best shows on TV at the moment.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Castiel and Castle.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Sorry Peter all the way! Everyone else I don't really know or don't watch anymore...

    ReplyDelete
  25. Castiel and Castle!
Don't watch either Fringe or Glee, but would vote for Cas over almost any other character in this competition anyway and I also enjoy Castle.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Peter and Castle.

    ReplyDelete
  27. There's only one show I watch out of the four..Not that it would matter if I did!Castiel all the way!

    ReplyDelete
  28. About time someone knocked that walking stereotype out of this poll. Thanks, Mal!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Richard Castle FTW! (oh and it's too easy to vote this time XD)

    ReplyDelete
  30. Cas and Castle! The two where I always type the other one at first try - why do they have so damn similar names?! XD

    ReplyDelete
  31. It's the C's today. Castiel and Castle.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Castle was an easy choice, but choosing between Castiel and Peter Bishop?  That was tough. In the end I voted for Peter because I knew loads of other people would be voting for Castiel!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Look at it this way: if anyone is able to beat Cas, it's Dean. So if we have an all SPN poll, Castiel will likely get eliminated ;)
I love Cas, but I wouldn't mind him loosing, just because I'm getting tired of people complaining Supernatural is ruling this site.

    ReplyDelete
  34. XD I noticed that too XD

    ReplyDelete
  35. oh yeah!! didn't noticed that!! hope this time Nathan wins... I know he won't but let's dream! :P

    ReplyDelete
  36. Sorry Cass, it's Peter. And Castle of course :)

    ReplyDelete
  37. I quite like Castiel. Just not as much as Peter...

I'm one of those folks where Fringe has my heart more than Supernatural, as fun as I find the tale of the Winchesters!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Cas and Castle, without question. I strongly disagree with comments that Cas' character has been limited to the "i don't understand" humor. We saw Cas struggling with his faith in season 4 (loved his scenes with Anna), pissed off Cas when Dean gets into self-pity mode, despondent Cas who drinks a liquor store, funny Cas with the prostitute and the hamburgers, sympathetic Cas, Cas at the end of his rope and compromising his principals (season 6), Cas on a power trip working out his daddy issues, and now monster Cas.

On the other hand, up to this season Peter's role was mostly limited to following Olivia around and making cracks about Walter. We saw more development this year, but I still don't think we've seen anywhere near the range that we've seen with Castiel.

  39. Peter Bishop & Richard Castle!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Castiel and Richard Castle... no question there. I love Peter Bishop, but Cas wins <3

    ReplyDelete
  41. Castiel and Kurt for me! I hope so much that Kurt will go to the finals, although it doesn't look like it.. For me Kurt is much more personal character than Castle with his struggle in Glee community..

Well who thought it, Castiel vs Castle.. Two almost similar names..

    ReplyDelete
  42. Peter and Castle for me today!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Peter and Castle, we'll be lucky enough if one wins to go on.

    ReplyDelete
  44. the one who is trying to come to existence Peter Bishop.
    And not one else.

    ReplyDelete
  45. The obsession with Supernatural and Vampire Diaries - two shows barely average - present on this website is depressing.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Peter for me.  I've only just finished the first season of SPN, so I haven't "met" Castiel yet!  I love Peter though.  He may not have as much screen time as the other characters on Fringe, but he is so intriguing to me.  I always want to know more about him.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Fans complain a lot. Just saying. And even if it seems boring when SPN wins close to every poll, well, maybe that's a hint to check the show out? I don't know.
But it's not our fault we are passionate about our series though :)

    ReplyDelete
  48. Castiel without a doubt ;) and Castle !!!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Sesshômaru Takahashi7 October 2011 at 16:58

Castiel because he deserves it, the story of this character, his personality, and Misha Collins who plays him, all of this make him such an adorable and one of the best characters ever (and the ONLY other one who can be a real menace to him here, is ironicaly Dean Winchester arf).
    Also Castle.

Funny that the poor Nathan Fillion will be again against Cas, and only to lose again...

    ReplyDelete
  50. Well, you have a point here, Castiel has had an interesting arc and has offered a few interesting twists to the story, apart from his general support to the brothers, always a good thing.

I haven't voted for him in any of the polls, because I kind of have an issue with this character, but now that he is clearly winning (as expected), I'm willing to publicly recognize my conflicting love for him.

First thing, I find it quite tragic that he really did not see a way out of the Purgatory plan. I mean, somebody had to care about the threat coming from Raphael, and thanks to Castiel, this is not a problem any more. And Cas has sacrificed himself for this victory (as Sam did to put Lucifer out of the way). The problem (besides the big issue of bringing the Leviathans to our world) is that he did not willingly annihilate himself, but rather gave himself an almost almighty power, and that's always a bit tricky and doesn't really look so heroic. But actually, he just wanted to do all he could for his friends. Until things really got out of his own control (a foreseeable outcome). And it's also regrettable that he did not confide in the brothers and kept his plans for himself, causing an important breach in their trust, what ultimately led to the big betrayal of breaking Sam's internal wall. But this is just a tragic and realistic situation (I mean figuratively realistic, as in who of us hasn't misjudged some critical  situation and thought of ourselves as more poweful than we really are, deceiving ourselves with the excuse that we only were trying to help others). So I really do mourn for him and have completely forgiven him, and would like for him to get some love back from the brothers again, somehow.

I've never enjoyed his being out of place, nor his trying drugs, alcohol or sex. I don't find those things funny. But I enjoyed the initial mstery around this powerful being and have liked his struggling to learn what was the right thing to do, even the tragical outcome of it, that comes from his basic 'daddy' issues. There are some interesting theological questions here, treated in an interesting way . My problem with the character and with the angels plot in SPN in general is becuase of their involvement with the 3 main archangels, all of them portrayed in a bad light. I mean, I don't mind a story about a fictitional problematic angel, but the three good archangels with those same names do have already a story in the Christian, Jewish and Muslim traditions that is very dear for me, so that I couldn't enjoy them being portrayed so badly. I don't make a big issue out of it, but yo

  51. The man who never existed and Castle, without a doubt!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Not necesarily, Dean could beat Castiel first, and Damon/Chuck could still beat Castle.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Definitely Cas all the way! No character owns my heart the way Castiel does, not even Peter Bishop!

And Castle gets my vote over Kurt.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Castiel and Kurt! love both characters, ESPECIALLY Castiel <333

    ReplyDelete
  55. Haha, I just said exactly the same thing! Not our fault other fandoms aren't as passionate as ours.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Not our fault other fandoms aren't as passionate as ours. It's the opposite of boring to us, so why don't you just become part of our fandom. You know what they say: "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em." ;)

    ReplyDelete
  57. Castiel and Castle all the way, WOOT!

    ReplyDelete
  58. If I wanted that I'd follow a Supernatural fansite, which this is not.

    ReplyDelete
  59. What's disappointing is having the same results over and over again and outcomes becoming boringly predictable.  And I realize this is petty, but I only see one other comment that's been liked more than that one, so it's somewhat evident that your comment was wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Oh my god, how did Chuck Bass get so far in the competition?

    ReplyDelete
  61. Oh, man!  I was away and must have missed the Jensen v. Jared!  (Maybe it's just as well -- I hate all the in-fighting among the fans)  But who won???  I'm assuming Jensen, but Jared's winning in a poll including the two of them on another site, so you never know.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Dean won. This is the link:

    ReplyDelete
  63. Tough choice for me, as Fringe and Supernatural are the two shows I enjoy watching the most. Have to vote for Castiel though... surprisingly I am not missing Peter THAT much on Fringe (though I will be happy when he returns) whereas I can still not imagine Supernatural without Castiel.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Sesshômaru Takahashi7 October 2011 at 21:12

Oh ok. Didn't know that it will be in that order (and not Castiel vs Castle first).

    ReplyDelete
  65. Well, as he explained at the end of yesterday's set of polls, Adam changed the order so that we didn't have today Castiel's and Dean's polls together. But the winner of Dean vs. Daenerys is the one who must face Castiel next.

You're right, it would be a nice chance for a Nathan Fillion's character to face Castiel again, but it will only happen if both get to the final match and it does look tough!!

    ReplyDelete
  66. Castle and Peter - love Castiel too but don't want to see all of the Fringe trio out - sadly it looks like that'll happen.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Peter Bishop.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Lololol envious much?

    ReplyDelete
  69. Sorry if our fandom is more enthusiastic yours :)

    ReplyDelete
  70. Poor, poor Peter.  It looks like Castiel is going to steam roll this entire contest.  Too bad.  I love Peter and to finally glimpse him again on Fringe tonight was a highlight. Oh well.  There's always next year.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Supernatural has my heart more than Fringe, but I still love Peter and wish he would have gone farther.  His tale of a son fighting against the betrayal he felt from his father was appealing.  Watching him grow to care for Walter and rebuild those family bonds was one of my favorite family story arcs of all.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I think there are a lot of upset Cas fans so I wouldn't agree that Dean is a sure thing to stop Castiel in this contest.  It will be interesting but I wish it were Peter vs Dean instead.

    ReplyDelete
  73. I'm sorry I guess what I should have said was "I am disappointed by this comment." I was not speaking for anyone other than myself.

    ReplyDelete
  74. ARGH Kurt vs Richard.... both funny :D I dont know.

Castiel ofcourse! Not such a big fan of Peter :P love Joshua more

    ReplyDelete
  75. Just Peter Bishop on the #FF for me today...

    ReplyDelete
  76. Let's say, who would you think is more powerful (Spoilers ahead for those not up to date with both shows):

    - the man who created a bridge between two universes, supposedly falling into non-existence but somehow overcoming the erasing powers of the Observers and lingering among his friends
    or
    - the angel who declared himself to be a new god after consuming the souls of all Purgatory monsters and then got consumed by the oldest of them

Got to admit that both score almost equal as the weirdest story arcs ever, but, hey, I'm voting for Peter.

I did love Castiel on occasion, and also got pissed at Peter a couple times, but you know, if only one has to go ahead in the competition, it's Peter Bishop of Fringe for me. Because he learned to discern what is important and what is not in life, and Cas really lacked in judgement as of lately.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Castiel and Castle. Apparently I love people whose names start with "Cas"

    ReplyDelete
  78. I just can't even believe either of these are remotely close. :P guess I got tunnel vision!

    ReplyDelete
  79. Voted Peter - with no doubts - and Castle - with no better options - but the truth is that after last poll I don't care anymore. Chuck Bass better than Olivia Dunham? This cup is definitely a joke. Still, I'm cheering for Peter but I think that the guy of Supernatural prob. will win.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Castiel & Richard Castle

    ReplyDelete
  81. It's too hard.  I can't choose between Peter and Castiel!  They're both too awesome.  However, as much as I love Kurt, he took down Mulder, and therefore Nathan Fillion must crush him.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Supernatural_Loving_Fan8678 October 2011 at 20:16

    Castiel and Castle for me.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Voted Cas and Castle. It'll be very interesting to see how these polls turn out, I know it's only early days yet, but I'm surprised to see Castle so drastically ahead of Kurt Hummel.

    ReplyDelete
  84. *closes eyes* It's too close. I can't watch.

    ReplyDelete
  85. my best friend's mom makes $78 an hour on the computer. She has been out of job for 9 months but last month her check was $7587 just working on the computer for a few hours. Read about it here HardRich.com

    ReplyDelete
  86. Yes, it's great to have Dean & Daen, and then Castiel & Castle.
    :D

    ReplyDelete
  87. Peter and Rick.  I'm not sure either will win though.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I agree, tough choice but I chose Cas.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Oh Adam Castiel rules! I respect ur opinion though :DDD

    ReplyDelete
  90. Castiel and Kurt!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  91. Cas and Cas... wow that was simple! :)

    ReplyDelete
  92. Hummmmmm... do I detect a theme here! :)

    ReplyDelete
  93. Castiel and Castle.

P.S. After "Dean and Dany" now this. XD

    ReplyDelete
  94. :) Cas and Castle all the way

    ReplyDelete
  95. Wow. If Castiel wins this one, that means a secondary character can beat a main character.

    I'd like to see that.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Wha...Peter vs. Castiel??
    :/

    BLAH...
    Castiel and Castle.

    ReplyDelete
  97. I sincerely hope Cas loses.  I do love the character but Supernatural dominating these competitions has gotten 100% boring.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Peter Bishop and Castle

    ReplyDelete
  99. It's Castiel and Castle for me!! I'm really glad Castle is still here!!!! :D

    ReplyDelete
  100. Kurt and Peter!

    ReplyDelete
  101. :) I'm sure you'll love Cas, he has the best introduction scene ever and....we'll I won,t spoil you :) you'll make your idea of him

    ReplyDelete
  102. What does this site or that site have to do with anything? It was just a joke. Perhaps your lack of sense of humour is precisely why you don't appreciate Supernatural.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Except that Supernatural is one of my favorite shows on the air right now...
