Patrick Jane meets Sammy and Dean LOL
ReplyDeletelol
ReplyDeleteThis must be the ep Sera referred to when she talked about an ep where the boys go to a town full of psychics - some real some fake. Sounds promising.
ReplyDeleteA vision of Sam & Dean's future is likely to fry a psychic's mind.....
ReplyDeletePerhaps one of these psychics will be able to give Sammy a hand with his "Hell-memory" problems such as teaching him meditation or something, that is if he hasn't resolved all that already on his own......
ReplyDeleteInteresting title! I can't wait for this episode.
ReplyDeleteCould we hope for them to bring up Sam's psychic abilities again? I still don't buy that in season 1-2 he had visions of the future but then once he started using his powers actively in season 4, no visions, just pulling demons with his mind. His first ability shouldn't have disappeared and should still be able to be used if he tried. It could help the boys out if Sam still had visions and could sense stuff like he did in early episodes (like Home).
ReplyDeleteYes, they should really address all that and make it clear if he still has these powers or if they have been wiped out by all that has happened to him.
ReplyDeleteThey would indeed be very useful, especially now, as it seems they will have very little in the way of help from other sources.
Another problem that I feel still needs to be resolved is Adam.
I'm not a fan of the half-brother story but at least get the poor guy out of the pit....
Interesting! I think this is the one that Sera Talked about them going to New York! Thanks for the info!
ReplyDeleteYeah she said that they go to a part of New York... It would be indrestinf to bring in some of the elements of the city!
ReplyDeleteJust what I was going to post. Do you read minds? lol I have a good feeling that this one will have lots of laughs.
ReplyDeleteI would be much happier if they left the super psychic powers in the past.
ReplyDeleteI agree wholeheartedly with this! I mean they just flat out wiped that story off the map. I see so many people complain about them getting rid of Dean's stories, but they do the same thing to Sam and it's really not right at all. I'd at least like some kind of conclusion to his powers. Does he still have the psychic ability? Is it gone? Did Hell jumpstart his powers? Did it wipe out his powers or are they still in him, just lying dormant again? They need to give us some sort of conclusion here. I for one would love it if he could still at least sense energies and such like he once did. I'd be too worried about him having visions on top of the other turmoil he is facing.
ReplyDeletei'm excited and I really hope they touch on Sam's psychic abilities. If they don't I understand because they show has come a long way since the plotlines of seasons 1 and 2, but it would be an awesome callback
ReplyDeleteahahahahahaha! YES! I've been giggling over this title since it was released, thinking about The Mentalist.
ReplyDeleteGod, how I would love to have a crossover and Simon Baker could guest. I know it's impossible, though. :P
I totally agree, Dahne. Maybe they could explain Sam not having them anymore, I wouldn't mind it. But the demon blood storyline is over and I wish they leave it in the past. No more super powers nor angels help. Let our human boys be the heroes. ;)
ReplyDeleteI think that was what we all thought XDDD
ReplyDeletei will surely watch it!
ReplyDeletePardon me if I'm wrong here, but didn't this get mentioned in an earlier Spoiler TV post somewhere?
ReplyDeleteThe title was but not that it involved psychics...
ReplyDeleteI remember the info about psychics too.
ReplyDeleteOk... Well Sera mentioned it in an interview so they may have been posted close together or something. :)
ReplyDeleteMe too! The boys need to stay human! I admit the story line was cut off a bit but lets think about how Charmed was... not that it was bad it just wasn't as good because there was always something different wrong with the sisters powers or they had turned into something evil every episode. That's one of the reasons why I like Supernatural so much... Dean isn't turned a vampire every other week and Sam doesn't wig out over a magical mishap with his powers... basically they are both human dudes, and they stay that way!
ReplyDelete:P Don't make people think too much today, I think our brains are all stuck at ''IT'S SEPTEMBER *__*''...nothing else can be remember :P
ReplyDeleteJust so long as Simon Baker doesn't show up I'm good with this title.
ReplyDeleteI had hoped that Sam would at some point finally be able to turn all that had been done to him against the demons and kick some demon ass with the powers, but I've given up hope at this point. Sam's role seems destined to being limited to being either victim or borderline evil.
ReplyDeleteAt the least, I'd love it if he still had his psychic ability, his immunity to the demon ray gun, and in season 5 he seemed almost like he could sense (or smell) demons. Just because the Lucifer storyline is over, it doesn't mean Sam's physiology should be different.
Sam was human when he had his psychic abilities and the choice to use them for good or evil was always Sam's. With the angel on their shoulder gone, the boys need some more supernatural firing power on their side, or else they're constantly going to be at the mercy of making deals with more powerful beings.
ReplyDeleteI was about to say the same. I like the idea
ReplyDeleteVery intriguing title ^^
ReplyDeleteAll right. This should be interesting. Let's see what happens with it.
ReplyDeleteI thought the psychic vision power story line ended when Azazael died. I am good with the explanation that Azazael gave them these specific powers and his death cancelled them.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely! I watched season 1 of the Mentalist this summer. He needs to stay as far away from shows I actually care about as possible.
ReplyDeleteRoll on season 7...loving the sound of these new eps.
ReplyDeletehmm more psychics here's to hoping Mossley shows back up
ReplyDeleteHrm?
ReplyDeleteI thought "The Mentalists" would be episode 8 and "All in the Family" is supposedly episode seven?
interesting. Are they going to touch on Sam's psychic past as well?
ReplyDeleteMaybe you're psychic.
ReplyDeleteWhy can't Dean be the one with spiritual firepower for once? Please don't tell me that Dean has to remain powerless & useless under the guise that he and only he has to remain "human" to represent some principle that does his character absolutely no good.
ReplyDeleteI agree. I'm not interested in a rehash of something that's very connected with S1 and the demon taint thing. It would be redundant and I'm tired of "what's wrong with Sam" as it is.
ReplyDeleteHe already kicked Lucifer's ass, what more could one ask for?
ReplyDeleteAnd asking for Sam to have all those powers . . . It basically again marks him as non-human or superhuman. If Dean is A-OK as a character without powers, why does Sam need them?
It also calls into question the whole idea that "humans are great & wonderful & far worthier of God's (and the audience's) regard" if the lead needs to be something other than human to get stuff done thus diminishing the unpowered human lead into the slackjawed sidekick.
If Sam kicking Lucifer's ass hadn't resulted in self-sacrifice and over a hundred years of torture, I'd consider it more of feel-good victory, but Hell Sam in the finale didn't look so good. Demons have made Sam a victim his whole life. They changed his body chemistry so that he was a freak, killed Jessica, and then indirectly killed Sam through Jake. Sam tried to turn the demon blood curse into something useful by using the powers to defeat Lilith, but even that was turned against him. I'd just like Sam to win for once. And I think the idea behind his actions in season 4, turning a negative into a positive, is a good one and something that should be encouraged if Sam and Dean are ever going to find some happiness as hunters.
ReplyDeleteAs for Dean, the thing is is that Sam has had psychic powers in some form for the first five seasons. It's better writing to have the powers storyline continue to play itself out than that storyline be suddenly forgotten like it never existed. I have no problem with Dean getting some kind of extra power as long as it's not too cheesy. Maybe Cas will will him Heaven's nukes.
Humans are supposed to be special because of their souls and capacity for free will. However, that doesn't stop them from being tossed around like rag dolls when confronted with a more powerful supernatural creature. I'm curious where this show will head when it comes to the question of fighting power. To me it seems like they only have a few choices: make the "big bad" a lot less bad, but I think viewers would find that anti-climactic; keep the angels or have the boys align with another equally powerful creature; give the boys more fire power of their own; write the stories like the Eve story, where an easy solution to an impossible problem conveniently drops out of the sky into their laps.
Sam's character storyline throughout seasons 1-5 was his internal struggle with having been violated as an infant and turned into something with the potential for evil inside of him. You see his struggle with feeling like a "freak" even in flashbacks of Sam as a child (After School Special).
ReplyDeleteDean's character storyline has been dealing with abandonment issues and bottled up resentment for feeling like he had to sacrifice his dream of having a family because his role as a hunter.
I don't consider continuing with Sam's personal storyline a rehash any more than I consider Dean's struggle with family or his abandonment issues a rehash of season 1. The characters should continue to grow, and neither character story should just be whitewashed away.
I don't want Dean to have psychic powers either. I like when they use their wits and some luck to get out of scrapes. It makes them rely more on each other and is to me more interesting.
ReplyDeleteI vote for a lesser Big Bad. They already iced the devil and traditionally that's as big as it gets. I certainly think a manageable Big Bad would be far less anti-climactic than watching the brothers stand jaws open while they watch Cas talk to the bad guys before snapping his fingers to get rid of them. talk about anticlimactic.
ReplyDeleteI think that it would be nice for Sam to deal with being 100% human. I think that I'm pretty tired of the same dynamics of Dean having to deal with Sam doing the same things over and over again and being told he's wrong again and again.
ReplyDeleteIn 7.3, Sam again runs off to see a monster girl he likes and I'm all "God, did you not get a clue that's wrong from the whole Ruby debacle." I want Sera to spare me from another round of hearing how Dean forced Sam to run off and how Dean's bullying Sam, who now has the excuse of the wall falling down so he doesn't have to take responsibility.
I think this is true. I want Dean to have a Big Bad he can DO something against and SHOW that he's still a kickass important person on the show.
ReplyDeleteI'm of the opinion that all the powers Sam has had over the years were always connected to the demon taint and for every other character on the show, abnormal & ill-gotten powers almost always end up either getting you killed or corrupted and I'd like the show to stop trying to make an exception in Sam's case or open it up to all the members of Team Free Will. No abnormal powers for all of them (Castiel should only have angel powers) or it's free-for-all.
Sam has HAD powers before so it's not like we've never seen it before. And when Sam had powers, Dean either had to wring his hands or worse, got choked and verbally abused and lied to. I'm sick of Sam when he's high on powers and think he's superior.
I'm not interested in the return of arrogant!Sam convinced of his own superiority while Dean is called a dumbass by everyone concerned.
Not sure how to respond to this. I think you read a completely different set of spoilers than I did, because I didn't get any of this from the spoilers of 7.3 that I saw.
ReplyDeleteAnd here you go. Jumping to conclusions and blaming Sam. Like I've seen you do A LOT. Funny how the CW's S7 blurb came out on the site today and it's DEAN who's keeping a big secret from Sam that could threaten to tear them apart. Don't believe me? Read it here: http://www.cwtv.com/shows/supernatural/about
ReplyDelete*snort* I could say the same thing about Castiel. You sure have fun with your Sam-bashing, don't you? Let me guess, it makes you feel superior doesn't it? Being all anonymous behind a computer screen, you can talk trash without any worries. How cowardly of you.
ReplyDeleteYou're anonymous as well so pot kettle. When you post your real name & info onscreen then you can lecture me, but not before.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm expressing my opinion and not telling you not to express yours.
Also, if I decide to worry about some other character than Sam, then it's my right and I'm going to express it. And that's just too bad.
ReplyDeleteSo basically it's OK for Sam to have powers but Dean can't. Ok, let's be clear about your POV.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I read that and basically it's just a little sop just like being a detective was last season. Why should a Dean fan care? What possible secret could he have? It's not like it's going to matter in the storyline. It's going to be all about how Dean is at fault for something, probably Sam-related, and everybody gets to call him a dumbass. So why should I care about the stupid secret?
With Sera in charge, I think Sam having some kind of ability is inevitable. I'm just tired of Dean being cut out if powers is the way to go.
ReplyDeleteNo, actually I'm not. And I'm attending the ChicagoCon this fall and my name will be on my lanyard, so people actually DO know who I am and may even recognize me. Unlike you.
ReplyDeleteOh, was that supposed to be a dig at me? Stop. Please. You hurt me so badly. In case you didn't pick up on that, that's called sarcasm.
ReplyDelete"it's basically" "it's probably" All assumptions. I love how you're trying to make justification for something that you don't even know yet. It's cute.
ReplyDeleteThe show pretty much spells it out.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to be laughing so much at you when you're proved wrong.
ReplyDeleteDean doesn't have powers because he is NOT the one that got Demon Blood dripped into his mouth at birth it is OBVIOUS why Sam has/had them in the past.. They can't just POOF powers into Dean.. that is ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteSam is not at fault for everything that goes wrong you know Dean has his share of screw ups... I am sick to DEATH of seeing everyone talk crap about SAM it's stupid. Yes he messed up but if you hadn't noticed so has DEAN. They both have. Along with Cas, and Bobby. No one on that show is perfect so people really should STOP ridiculing Sam and bashing him because he doesn't really dESERVE that at all....
ReplyDeleteThat was my first thought. His visions were always tied to Azazel and so if he's dead than it's only natural the visions are too.
ReplyDeleteThe powers were good in the first few seasons but I think that's too much in the past now, they've moved on from it and now going back would just seem weird.
I personally can't wait for the SAm story line this season I want to see where they go with his time from Hell of course with Sera writing the first episode I am sure that one will be complete crap. I hate that woman... she's pure EVIL.
ReplyDeleteTami Fisher explained satisfactorily "why" a few posts below.
ReplyDeleteSince it's now reasonably established that Sam's powers came from the demon blood Azazel dripped in his mouth as an infant, for Dean to suddenly have "powers" would be not be feasible unless the "powers" had some a "supernatural origin" in S7. Not saying it couldn't happen - some supernatural entity may give Dean a "gift" of a power of sort.
Even though Dean has remained "human" for 99.9% of the show (giving 0.1% to the time spent as a incredibly strong/moral bloodlust - resisting, totally BA vamp - the site of vamp!Dean's foot on the head of the vamp who turned him gives me chills... Awesome job, Jensen!) he has" taken some pretty big fish" as he told Castiel at the end of TMWWBK.: Azazel, TWOB, Zachariah, TMOA to name a few of his major victories.
There's a town somewhere in upstate New York, I believe, which is full of psychics.
