CASTIEL TAKES ON HIS NEW ROLE AS GOD --- Castiel (Misha Collins) doesn't kill Sam (Jared Padalecki), Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Bobby (Jim Beaver) but warns them not to interfere in his business. Assuming his new role as God, Castiel sets out to right some of the wrongs in the world. Dean decides they should bind Death (guest star Julian Richings) and order him to stop Castiel, but the former angel is one step ahead of them, leaving Dean to face a very angry Death. Meanwhile, Sam struggles to deal with the broken wall in his head. Phil Sgriccia directed the episode written by Sera Gamble (#701).

U know Death this season has pretty much been like the crowley last season and if thats true then Death is going to be well....death...to dean lol. Common Death cut him some slack he's desperate and afterall dean did stop the devil. the mother of all monsters. Azazel, Lillith, Alastair and plenty more.

    ReplyDelete
  3. I am afraid of the new boss.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Ooo this sounds really good. I honestly cannot wait. This hellatus needs to be over. Lots of great guest actors all in the first episode. I love Death it'll be interesting how things are handled since it seems like Cas may have bound Death to him before Dean could. Or Crowley did which would explain Cas' plans for Crowley.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Death might be pissed off but I think he really likes Dean, so maybe it won't be as bad as it sounds. Or not. LOL
This sounds awesome. But then I knew it would be.

    ReplyDelete
  6. This episode sounds like it has a lot going for it.  I can hardly wait.  So Dean wants to sic Death onto Cas.  Well, Death did tell him that one day he would reap God.  That's a scary thought.  It's going to be interesting.  Cas isn't going to be very happy with Dean.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Oh Dean.  Don't you know better than to tick off Death?  He makes a far better ally.

You think Castiel will take out reality SPOT (stupid people on TV) shows because that would be righting a wrong to me.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Actually, Sam killed Lilith and Alistair. Sam and Dean stopped the devil together, but Sam was the one who suffered as a result. Dean killed Azazel and Eve.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I don't doubt that something will be far, far worse than it sounds, but this will not be it.  Can't wait to see Death get really ticked though.  It's going to get intense.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I wouldn't be concerned about Cas' feelings if I were Dean.  No matter how Megalo Cas has gone, I'd still be far more scared of a disapproving glance from Death than anything Cas could throw at me.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I wish I was caught up on Supernatural! Sounds like S7 is gonna be good! :)

    ReplyDelete
  12. This is going to be SO amazing. I need this episode like...right NOW! I'm intrigued about angry Death. Not a good idea to piss of Death, Dean! Trying to bind him? Bad move... Though it seems Castiel thought ahead huh? Those binding spell spoilers make sense now. I am VERY excited to see the wall down in Sam's head and see him struggle with realities and not knowing which realityh he's in, and PLEASE writers! Give us angsty!Sam or just some emotional insight into Sam. I'd like to know what the character is thinking and how he feels about what's happening to him.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I like that it specifies that Dean wants to stop Cas, not necessarily get Death to reap Cas.  I'm all in for the exciting plotlines.  I just want our angel to be redeemed eventually and not killed off.  Team Free Will forever!

    ReplyDelete
  14. NOOOO why did you say that ", Death did tell him that one day he would reap God" *cries* i dont wanna remember this aah

    ReplyDelete
  15. *hugs* TEAM FREE WILL! I'm for anything other then cas dying. ( = misha still on the show some how :( _)

    ReplyDelete
  16. :DD YEAH!!

And we're official in september NOW!!! :D CAN'T WAIT FOR THE 23TH!

    ReplyDelete
  17. I know this probably sounds strange but I wish they hadn't revealed absolutely anything about this episode.

It would have been much better to watch it without knowing even the smallest detail other than the fact that  Castiel,  Dean, Sam and Bobby were featuring in it......

Every little new spoiler that comes out takes away the suspense, so I hope nothing else is said until the actual episode is aired.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Sounds fantastic. I cannot wait for the 23rd. I am loving everything I hear about s7 - in stark contrast to s6 when everything they revealed disappointed me (the time jump, Sam not telling Dean he was back, domestic Dean etc etc). I have a really good feeling about this season.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I can see why Death might be pissed if Cas does what I think he does and tethers Death to himself ass Lucifer did than I really cant blame Death for being angry. He's just gone from one bad situation to another. Also one could argue that Dean and the others enabled Cas to become what he is simply by encouraging to think for himself. When we first met him he did what he was told and didnt cause trouble, free will has created a self righteous tyrant of sorts? I dont blame anyone for Cas, he made his own descisions but Death might now see it like that.

    ReplyDelete
  20. All sounds good, looking forward to the season starting again.

    ReplyDelete
  21. aparently episode 2 is the one to watch in terms of Cas, the big bad and where the season is heading thats the episode they're keeping zipped about

    ReplyDelete
  22. So close...Just a little longer...
Sounds awesome!I didn't expect them to reveal the whole thing with Death.
I'm waiting to see what Dean means when he says "stop" Castiel.Somehow, despite everything,I don't see him trying to kill Cas.Not yet anyway...

    ReplyDelete
  23. Oh.  Dean.  Binding Death?  Not the brightest move.

We don't have to wait much longer do we?

    ReplyDelete
  24. season 6 was dissapointing in terms of reveals, everything that sounded remotely interesting pre season was pretty much a dud when it actually happened. I was dreading the start of season 6 and my interest in the season pretty much dies with EOMS but this season despite the Cas heavy opening I'm actually quite excited-all the Sam and Dean stuff, the new big bad, great guest stars, being on the road and on the run. Bring on season 7.

    ReplyDelete
  25. can t wait for neweason
but i don t see deah as so powerful yeah he can cause earthqukes but so could lucifer and maybe demons and well he can kill people with a touch but so could the angels with a fingersnap  i don t think he could kill god

    ReplyDelete
  26.  True.

Let's hope they manage to keep everything secret in ep 2 right up to the last minute.

I'm sure after the first episode airs we'll all be dying to know what's going to happen next anyway, so they won't need to put out many spoilers for 2.......

    ReplyDelete
  27. OMG 3 weeks and a day from now we will be counting down the hours until the epsiode is on! I am so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  28. It's an obvious case once again of nice job breaking it heroes. Sam and Dean break a lot in their quest to escape destiny and do things their own way. They're kind of a form of anarchists. I mean you take into account that they ignore the standard rules and laws even the expectations of Heaven and you have a case of two people who overthrown all forms of law and rules and leave chaos and anarchy in their wake (something that others have pointed out is a problem with the Winchesters). I actually tend to wonder if this is done on purpose or it's just a layer to the characters that can be observed if you take them apart. Cas could just be yet another example of them spreading chaos and anarchy even though they're trying to do good. Sometimes it's not always a good idea to fight against the norms or the laws because they're there for a reason. Teaching an angel free will could be yet something else they've been responsible for screwing up.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Woah! This is heavy Doc! I totally thought that Death would be the end all beat all solution for the boys! This is getting really intense... I can't wait!!!

    ReplyDelete
  30. He's tried it before (the deal to get Sam's Soul) and that kinda worked. Why not try again?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Woah... I just realized that season 7 starts on the 23 and there are 23 episodes this season! Kinda cool right? Your post helped me figure this out so thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  32. I agree it takes away the mystery! I never should have looked... :(

    ReplyDelete
  33.  So hard to resist peeking ....... I know exactly how it is!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I expected nothing less from Cass.  I hope he shows up at my house.  lol This is going to be a great show.  I am so looking forward to this season.  Just hope Cass stays on the show.  I loves my Castiel!

    ReplyDelete
  35. My best suggestion for you would be not to read any spoilers at all if this is honestly the way you feel. A lot of people thrive on these spoilers, like myself, and love reading them so it prepares them better and easier for what lies ahead. So, the ones who don't like to be spoiled typically steer clear of stuff like this. :) Just for future reference because they do reveal a press release episode synopsis for every episode every season and sometimes even more. Though you'd be surprised at how tight-lipped they remain for each episode as well, so it's not exactly spoiling you so much that you know exactly what happens. I mean this is SpoilerTV after all. ;D

    ReplyDelete
  36. But that wasn't exactly binding Death. This is an actual spell that they are using to try and bind Death so they can make him do what they want, ergo; reap Castiel. Dean had Death's ring and was trying to use that against him, but not bind him. This is something entirely different.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I wish I could stop myself from reading spoilers but I'm afraid I don't have that amount of will-power and I'm far too curious for my own good...............! :-)

That's why I would prefer that they wouldn't put out too many, or at least just the bare essentials leaving out any of the really important and surprising stuff;  but hey, I understand the pull of the spoilers.

Anyway if one wants to participate in these discussions it's clear that one can't avoid spoilers, it's either that or stay off the internet.

So as you can see I'm the classic person who preaches but doesn't follow their own advice............( I bow my head in shame..........)

    ReplyDelete
  38. LMAO I hear you there! But believe me, sweetie, this IS the bare minimum. Last season? Almost every single synopsis is either misleading or inaccurate, so believe me, you're not spoiled too much here. xD

    ReplyDelete
  39. I defer to your superior experience and knowledge of synopses .....!
    :-)    :-)   lots of smiles  :-)    :-)

    ReplyDelete
  40. then again maybe Death is pissed bcause Dean is trying to do exactly what Cas and Lucifer have done to him-trying to use him? In binding Death to him Dean is no different to them. If I were Death I'd be out for blood.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I always find it a little funny that Dean who has faced death so many times would be so obviously afraid of Death? I wonder is Dean afraid where he might end up if he were to die and is that the reason he fears Death/death?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Oh boy , I`m so excited... Death , Sam`s "wall"  problems and Castiel situation ... and all in the first episode ;)

    ReplyDelete
  43. Death "likes" Dean because he is useful to him, let's not forget here we are talking about a Horseman, not a puppy, he's not Dean's new best friend doing whatever Dean wants. The Horseman helps and let's Dean run around because Dean is at the moment useful to Death, any time that usefulness runs out, Death won't hesitate to end Dean no matter how much he "likes" Dean.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I don't think that Death can be all that mad at Dean; not because they're on good terms but because they both likely want the same thing - to stop Castiel.  Death is all about letting things happen naturally and there's nothing natural about what Cas is.

    ReplyDelete
  45. How far behind are you?

    ReplyDelete
  46. Supernatural Junkie1 September 2011 at 17:38

Is Death the new big bad?

    ReplyDelete
  47. I didn't read anything in the synopsis that wasn't already alluded to by prior information.  It didn't give away much at all.  It provided a little clarity but that's about it.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I really doubt it.  It seems Supernatural still has that info on complete lockdown.

    ReplyDelete
  49. ^^; first time the boys have it so easy to get out of a cliffhanger with Cas only deciding to let them go....

    ReplyDelete
  50. I know how you feel. For 5 seasons I was completely spoiler free but I listened a little too hard to my spoilerjunkie friends and gradually caved because several insisted that reading spoilers enhanced their viewing experience. Unfortunately it hasn't, at least no for me and I far happier with the show when most everything was a "surprise" - I didn't even start watching promos for the next episode until 2/3 of the way through S4. But I have gone too far down the rabbit hole to stop myself now.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I agree! In the S4 premiere the show was able to keep the nature of the entity who rescued Dean under wraps until the episode itself, so I would be very surprised if the 7.02 official description contains the "name" of the new big bad.

Anyone who's seen the promos for S7 likely surmises that a Purgatory entity "escapes" from Godstiel because of the scenes where Cas is laying unconscious in a pool of blood, followed by scenes where he looks like he went 12 rounds with a cement block and the cement won (i.e., his face is messed up and he's clearly disoriented - my theory is that he wakes up as Jimmy).

The better way to keep the fans panting for 7.02 after seeing the premiere is to keep the nature of the BB hidden until 7.02 actually airs. We already know that the new BB will be introduced in 7.02 and it will involve Sheriff Mills (yeah!) in some way. That's all I need to know about the BB, but that IS from the perspective from 5 years as a spoilerphobe.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I didn't have the spoiler  problem before simply because  I discovered Supernatural only last Christmas and therefore I just watched my way through the seasons on DVD one after the other.

Now,  having started to participate in these posts I find myself unable to ignore the various spoilers and so end up reading them all..... Curiosity killed the cat as they say.

I couldn't agree however that spoilers enhance the viewing experience, I would say that the "surprises"and the" who knows what's going to happen next" do.

Everything of course is relative as there are lots of people who love spoilers and are happy to read them.

That's why I would like to pass that burden on to the CW,  or who for them, seeing that they give out the spoilers in the first place, to keep them as bland as possible, so that when one sits down to watch the episode you get the full effect.....

    ReplyDelete
  53.  No, I suppose there isn't a great deal of information, but we now know that Castiel doesn't seem to harm Bobby and the boys in any way, and I feel that that was quite a big unknown hanging over their heads at the end of the last season, which could have been kept under wraps until the episode.

That's the spoiler that stands out for me, as the rest about Death and the problem of Sam's wall are things that could yet develop in various and  unknown ways.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Unfortunately these days, remaining unspoiled is difficult - my advice if you're addicted and don't want to be: stay off the internet. It's the only way. Too many people like spoilers so it's not going to stop. And it's important for the producers to encourage as many new viewers as possible. If spoilers are too vague, potential viewers' interest won't be aroused.

    ReplyDelete
  55.  Yes they do seem to be keeping a tight lid on the new enemy so that's good.

As far as the promos go I think they are actually less spoilery, in general, than the written ones, as you can't really tell from a few images what the story will be about.

I could say that I  am hypothetically a spoiler-phobe but when faced with tempting information call me Oscar as I just can't resist......

As I was saying  to SammyWsGirl earlier ,a person really has to stay away from the internet to avoid spoilers but then one would miss out  on all our friendly chattering about Supernatural  to which I am now addicted.........:-)

    ReplyDelete
  56. I don't think it's the spoilers themselves so much as the community and the chance to bounce around theories with other viewers that enhance the viewing experience.  But I know what you're saying. With most shows that I watch, I don't even visit the online sites.  I just don't want to start down that path.

When I'm feeling over-spoiled, I find moderation works for me.  If there's more than one promo/sneek peek, I only allow myself one. I also will read the episode titles and the briefer synopses, but stay away from the more detailed ones, the behind -the-scenes shooting reports, and the detailed advance reviews that sometimes come out a week before a big episode (such as the first one after a break).

    ReplyDelete
  57. But shouldn't it be just the opposite?
If you tell too much doesn't that ruin the surprise?

I would think that most people who watch the show are habitual viewers and don't really need to be encouraged to watch with spoilers, whereas new viewers wouldn't really understand the spoilers anyway.
They would really need to start a litte further back to get into the story-line of the show.

I understand that it is impossible not to be spoiled, and I read them like everyone else so I'm the last person to pass judgement on anything......

    ReplyDelete
  58. Dear chris 684
your post offers really good advice, keep to the surface of the information and not delve down into the depths!
That's one of the reasons that I like this site, you can avoid the spoilers and promos if you think they are too detailed but still participate in the discussions by taking your information from the contributions of the other posters.

Your'e right about the community too, it's the exchange of viewpoints that I think we all enjoy more than the spoilers.
This discussion is so interesting but my"beauty-sleep" is calling so ciao to you all.

    ReplyDelete
  59. The surprise will only be ruined if you click on the link that says 'spoiler' - or visit a site called 'SpoilerTV'. If you engage in an online community you will get spoiled. It's that simple. Like I said, if you don't want to be spoiled, the onus is on you to steer clear.
I understand spoilers can be addictive, but just like any other addictive substance, eg alcohol, tobacco, chocolate etc, the manufacturers are not going to stop producing them - it's up to the user to 'just say no' LOL

    ReplyDelete
  60. I don't know if you are able to watch the episodes at about the same time they air in the US, but if you are, the post-episode poll threads here offer a good opportunity to discuss the show with other people without getting too spoiled.

    ReplyDelete
  61. him summoning Death to reap him is a pretty big indication that Dean does want him dead

    ReplyDelete
  62. SOMEHOW. This stuff is usually all over the net by now, but we still don't know. lol

    ReplyDelete
  63. Sounds interesting, but I will be watching Fringe.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Oh I can't wait, I loved Death!

    ReplyDelete
  65. So excited about season 7.I think it's going to be amazing i can't wait to see what happens with Dean,Sam,Cas and Bobby.Sep 23rd can't get here fast enough.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Any Dean/Jensen fans on this site?  Given the comments I've seen, I'm guessing not, but thought I'd ask.

    ReplyDelete
  67. This sounds slightly antagonistic...
I believe it's been established that most people here are fans of both actors, but we generally focus on the overall story on this site...

    ReplyDelete
  68. Wow... like this comment isn't a fight waiting to happen...

    ReplyDelete
  69. interesting thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  70.  Of course there are fans of Dean/ Jensen just as there are fans of  Sam/Jared,  Bobby/ Jim

    Castiel/ MIsha,  Crowley/ Mark,  Cindy/ Lisa,  Samantha /Mary,  Jeffrey/John,  Chad/Ash,

     Nikki/Meg,   Kurt/Zachariah,  Richard/Gabriel. Julian/Death,  Chistopher/Alastair, Jake/Adam

Adrianne/Jessica,  Alona/Jo and so many others that I have not named for sake of space, who

all together, each giving their own, make up that wonderful show called Supernatural.

The show can't be broken up --it's like an orange, it needs all it's slices to make up the whole

    ReplyDelete
  71. Frankly the female fan base of this show has ruined the fandom with the constant bickering, bitching and the arguments. Arguing over who has more storylines and calling out the writers for not appealing specifically to to fans messed up needs.

Even SpoilerTV is boring to visit now and the coverage like the character VS character competitions are a joke. This is supposed to be a spoiler site, not some place where bored people can create these asinine polls. I come here to read news, not watch the petty fandom engage in their make believe Dean VS Sam arguments. Really this is what Supernatural fandom is reduced to? The bickering children should be ashamed. Now watch these twits FLAME ON just because they disagree with my statement. Sorry ladies.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Thank you all for you replies.  I suspected as much.

    ReplyDelete
  73. "I suspected as much."
    Uhm, come again?

    ReplyDelete
  74. Then if you suspected as much, why not go away and stop trying to start petty fights?

    ReplyDelete
  75. I'm guessing here, but I think she's outraged at the lack of outrage on this site about how horribly Dean's character has been treated.

On an unrelated note.  Happy Friday everyone!  Three more weeks!!

    ReplyDelete
  76. Yeah, probably... my best guess anyway.

Yay for Friday! And yes, 3 more weeks! \o/ I'm excited!

    ReplyDelete
  77. I think Dean knows he is far out of his league with Death and that Death can end him in an instant.  He has nothing to offer Death so he has no leverage.  It was different with the angels who could also wipe him off the map because obviously a higher power was protecting him and the angels needed him.  He had something to hold over them.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Adam has finished season 4 and he's been promising us his season 2 review for awhile. Hint, hint.  :-P

    ReplyDelete
  79. There are plenty of sites that have spoiler-free sections.  If you really want to be spoiler free, you should probably go there instead of a site called SpoilerTV.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Sorry for the wait.

I have all of S5 still and S6 on my DVR. When a rerun airs if there is a new promo, I delete the old copy and replace it wth the repeat. When S5 reran over the summer the only promo I recall was the Chuck "voiceover" with scenes entirely from S5 - no S6 "teasers" so I never replaced most of original airings and certainly not the last 4 episodes when the CW was most likely to air new teasers. But in S6, I've already "replaced" several of this season's episodes because there was new info.

As far as promos versus written material, I don't know which is more "accurate". I'd say both are important in combination. Promos occasionally have little "extra" scenes embedded in them, that don't make it to the episode, coupled with the fact that most clips are generally shown out of sequence or even combined but out of order so one *thinks* that the way a "whole" scene will play out. Plus, the written descriptions quite frequently are not exactly what happens ... even as pretty vague as they are.

It's not really true that you have to avoid the internet entirely to remain a spoilerphobe, but there seems to be less forum traffic than I recall a few years ago from posters calling themselves spoilerphobes. If you are careful which forums to choose you can easily chat about the already aired episodes without being spoiled. I post on 4-5 different forums - two largish and 3 smaller and on all but one forum if I don't want to be "spoiled" the boards are well organized enough with "Spoilers" compartmentalized, that I *KNOW* I'm not going to be spoiled.

Part of the reason why I went "darkside" in S6 is several fellow 'phobe friends fell off the boards. mostly for problems in the family reasons and not from disliking the show reasons, and I had almost no one to share my love for SPN but my spoilerjunkie friends.

    ReplyDelete
  81. I have to agree with that.  Death originally went after Dean.  We have Faith and In My Time of Dying as proof of that.Dean escaped him twice.  We can look at Lazarus Rising and to be honest, Mystery Spot.  Then Dean sold his soul to have Sam resurrected.  In season 5 we have both of them in Dark Side of the Moon.  That's a lot of escapes.  Any little thing to upset Death  will be the cause of Dean's demise.  I read somewhere that Death was going to be upset at him this season.  In at least some point.

    ReplyDelete
  82. I'm sorry. "ducks"  It wasn't a spoiler.  Season5

    ReplyDelete
  83. Incredibly so.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I would enjoy that.  May I hint also.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Misha has since told what  the bads are, and I find it difficult to believe they came out of him, but Sam and Dean and deep manure.

    ReplyDelete
  86. To be honest, they need to start with the pilot. lol  You can leave some of the stand alone's out, but even they sometimes have a little clue that is needed.  I would have considered Changing Channels as a stand alone until the end of it, when it had a major effect on the story.
