  1. HOLY SHIT THAT WAS EPIC. I LOVED IT SO MUCH. MISHA ACTED THE HELL OUT OF TONIGHT'S EPISODE. HALLICUNATING!SAMMY. CAS GOING EVIL AND THEN GETTING BACK TO NORMAL FOR A SECOND.

LEVIATHON!CAS OR HOWEVER YOU SPELL IT IS THE CREEPIEST THING I'VE EVER WATCHED ON THIS SHOW. CAN'T WAIT FOR NEXT WEEK.

  3. oh dear.. I'm crying D':
At first I was crying of happiness, because Cas woke up.. and now I'm crying of sadness, because of what happened.. :'( I really thought we were gonna get Cas back, and now he's probably gone forever :'(((

  4. I'm really impressed. What an episode to start the season. Every second of it was entertaining and thrilling. Bringing back Deatch, Luzifer and Crowley in the premiere was also awesome. The only negative point for me was that it ended, now another week of waiting... SPN really is back on track!

    ReplyDelete
  5. There isn't a word to describe how I feel about this episode.... It was better than ... OK, I can't think of anything that is comparable that I would say on a public board *evil grin*.

    ReplyDelete
  6. NO this is Supernatural! No body is gone for ever! *cries* please

    ReplyDelete
  7. We most not loose faith, pray to God Chuck and Cas, (we most have one right with those three) !

    ReplyDelete
  8. OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!! THIS WAS TOTALLY EPIC! I love the concept they took and YAY for that hand in Castiel's stomach, freaky but eye opening. Lol for that woman on TV who described God (Castiel) as sexy :D Whump!Sam my fav, yum. Hallucinations and chaining him up to the ceiling, now Sera is just spoiling me lol. This was beyond my expectations and I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT! However I missed like the first 8 minutes of it and didn't get to see the cool Title graphic *sigh*

We get to keep Misha around for a while but no Castiel...*pout. I like Dean's hair, mostly I'm all for Sammy's hair but there was something captivating going on on Dean's head. N

FAN CHEER: NEXT WEEK, NEXT WEEK, NEXT WEEK, NEXT WEEK WHOOT!

  9. I want it on record that I only picked awesome cos there was nothing better on offer. Words cannot describe the awesomeness that was this episode. I was excited about season 7 before this aired, but my excitement levels have just gone off the charts, I literally cannot wait to see next week's episode!

  10. From the comments here, I'm guessing everyone liked this episode.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Damn good. I forgot Lucy was showing up until he popped in. That's good writing. Made me forget I saw his name in the opening credits.  I also thought Death was excellent tonight.  Probably the most underrated part of the show. Faces off with God and WHAM right to the pickle chips.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I WILL! We just.. Cas can't.. JUST CAN'T BE GONE!!!

    ReplyDelete
  13. His reaction when he popped into the Devil's Trap was priceless.  And the fact he ended up in a Winnebago in Tennessee. Fantastic.

    ReplyDelete
  14. !!!!! The title will be on youtube soon I'm sure :D they were freaken great :D OMG I KNOW RIGHT (talking about dean's hair)

    *joins the cheer*

    ReplyDelete
  15. SHUSH WE CANT EVEN THINK THAT! Evil thoughts are evil prayers! WE MOST BE STRONG!
*deep breathing* I'm rewatching it in sign of good faith

    ReplyDelete
  16. Oh and this deserves its own post. I LOVED LOVED LOVED that God dont give a rats a** about gays. This made me smile. And then turn to jesus is now Cas HHAHA

    ReplyDelete
  17. I thought it was pretty good. And I'm an old guy who used to work as a writer back in the 70's.

    ReplyDelete
  18. gosh, yeah you're right! Positive thinking!
    oh Cas... <33

    ReplyDelete
  19. Totally awesome episode. Cas does evil as well as Sammy! Loved it, loved every minute.

    ReplyDelete
  20. A lot of great moments, the Crowley ones and the Sam/Lucifer ones especially. Not sure what I think yet. I'll rewatch it in the morning. I love Dean 95% if the time, but he was annoying the crap out of me tonight. I'll elaborate more in the morning - or maybe I better not. The whole Cas redemption arc seemed a little rushed, but the earlier effects when he was changing were cool.

    ReplyDelete
  21. nay Sammy does evil well. Cas does fucking creepy HAHAH

    ReplyDelete
  22. What did you write?

    ReplyDelete
  23. It was brilliant, but all i care about is Sam ..... Where the hell is he ?!?!?!?!!!!!
    I want to see the next episode already :{

    ReplyDelete
  24. One of the best episodes in a long time. Very dark and gave this season hope. That episode was a lot better than any episode last season.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I thought the ep would end on him! That's what i had heard any way. kinda sad im freaken intrigued about this. love hell ahah

    ReplyDelete
  26. Screenplays. Mostly one act for small drama clubs and theatre groups.  One of my writing professors had me write some as a grad student for his undergrad talent classes also.

    ReplyDelete
  27. *cough* french mistake *cough*
Kidding I kinda agree even if i loved season 6 this was just EPIC

    ReplyDelete
  28. I can't decide if Cas looked more reptilian or more like those sour apple gumballs you used to get as a kid.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Dean's dialogue seemed a little forced to me.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I loved Misha Collins so much tonight my heart almost went all KABOOM. And then there was Sam acting so much like First season Sam. I MISSED HIM!

    ReplyDelete
  31. EPIC! Well Done Supernatural Cast & Crew!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Sounds interesting. Why did you give it up?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Holy cow!! That was an amazing episode! I was expecting it to be good, but wow! Everyone did a superb acting job and I am gonna run out of the proper words!! Lol!! Poor Cas & Sam! I am gonna have to watch it again. :)

    ReplyDelete
  34. lol with his face? ahahha though the part I found him creepy was the last 2min. All healed and pretty with that freaken small and craking his neck or what ever CREEPY

    ReplyDelete
  35. "the first monter" cant remember the name lol... what death said

    ReplyDelete
  36. If there was any rating above awesome I would have chosen it.
Crowley and Death were awesome. Sam was heartbreaking and courageous. Dean was funny and courageous. Bobby was awesome and courageous.
Even felt a little teeny tiny bit sorry for Cas right before he became completely evil at the end.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I'm sure everybody loves Dean's "regular" hair... but seeing it long enough to comb fingers through.... NICE!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Some people choose to say things like that anyway. Feel free. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  39. I'm with you on that one... Gotta see it again, and again, and again, and again....

    ReplyDelete
  40. dyou mean we should say bad words here O_O oups. I blame tonight's awesomeness

    ReplyDelete
  41. My mind is blown! Absolutely loved it! I need episode RIGHT NOW!!!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Misha looked totally unhinged a couple of times, but the end... It was down right scary (in a good way in my book).

Love evil!Cas... although we can't really call him Castiel.

Don't worry Castiel fans. Godstiel said Cas was gone also, but he was still there.... The Leviathans just have control for now.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Even if he was upset with Dean we all knew Death couldn't pass on the pickle chips.
Mhmmm...He probably had some sweet tea too to go with it. :D

    ReplyDelete
  44. AMAZING! Misha has got to be having soooo much fun, he's doing a hell of an acting job! just WOW

    ReplyDelete
  45. Godstiel :D love it!!!! is this Leviastiel...

    ReplyDelete
  46. Ok I freakin' loved it. I already think this season will fare MUCH better than last season. I'm happy with Leviathan's introduction, the scenes with Death were INCREDIBLE, and Crowley, Lucifer, all of them were on their A-Game. The tennessee RV thing was the funniest part to me.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Nearly done with second rewatch. LOVED the last scene so perfect. Misha wow bravo awesome love it. The "I feel regret" WAS AWESOME and AW just love it. and omg im so freaken excited that i forgot to skip the adds! damn okay sorry im like over talking (?) but I CANT STOP! and my FB friends will kill me if i keep doing it there... IT WAS AW great.
If This Cas isnt the bigbad then wtf will it be! I kinda hope he doesnt die in the second episode and like, forget that i love misha and cas this was so great and pure evil (refreshing btw *cough* lucifer *cough*) that i dont want it to end soon

    ReplyDelete
  48. I think the writers are prepping Dean right now so that he is ready for the Osiris trials. They gotta get him back towards the hopeless state he was in During My Bloody Valentine. He has reason enough for it. Besides his own Hell time, he just got his brother back after a year of thinking he was dead, then months of thinking he was maybe Lucifer... Then one of his best friends hurts his brother... not to mention the whole failing Death's task thing....

So, now he is just trying to hunker down and protect what he has left.

    ReplyDelete
  49. This is going to sound funny but the majority of the locals loved everything I wrote.  It was a weird feeling for me. I graduated H.S. early and didn't start to grow until I got to college. I was a chronological year and a half behind everyone on the field so I got my butt kicked consistently. Being able to do something that was received well was really strange for me. I came back from college 6'7' and about 290 lbs. Looked like Paul Bunyan I was told. I wrote and people loved it UNTIL I told them I based most of my work on people and events from my little hometown. Talk about doors slamming shut. Oy!

    ReplyDelete
  50. well thats like saying Levia!Cas a ship name needs to be a mash up of the begining of one and ending of the other DUH. omg... kill me i read way to many fanfic.

    Casthan is funny

    ReplyDelete
  51. OK, it was better than *whispers*... s. e. x.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I'm in a very happy place right now *smiles*... of course now I have to wait until next week to find out what happens... but at least it isn't a wait through a whole Summer or Winter Hellatus :-)

    ReplyDelete
  53. OH MY GOD!!!! IT WAS SOOOO AWESOME!!!!!!! Great start to season 7! Yay hallucinating!Sam!!

    ReplyDelete
  54. ... I DIDNT EVEN HEAR THE FINAL EVIL LAUGH OMG THAT WAS WOW okay no seriously im shutting... up

    ReplyDelete
  55. Onto the most important matter of the night: What do you think of the new title card?

It looked like mud and then I heard a crocodile hissing. Definitely a step down from the glass shattering in my opinion,

    ReplyDelete
  56. I actually quite liked it, but I agree that it was a step down from the glass shattering. S6 has been my favourite title card by miles so far.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I loved Season 6, but I would put this episode above any episode I have seen... Now, I just have to see how it does after rewatching it 20 times... So, I'll get back to y'all about that tomorrow. I don't know if I can sleep until I have watched it a googolplex times.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Yes. And add in him saying it's going to get interesting does make it creepy. I can't see him surviving this, though. Leviathans are big and bad.

    ReplyDelete
  59. "Forced" is one part of it. I thought the line "we owe him that" about bringing Sam back felt forced and uncharacteristically impersonal. It also felt like Dean had every negative trait the character has ever had in this episode. I guess they're going for emotionally burnt out, but it was odd to see Dean so apathetic and uncaring.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Nope. Sorry. It doesn't beat the S6 title card for me. But maybe it'll grow on me

    ReplyDelete
  61. Yep, more than one... I loved the creepy hand pushing through Castiel's stomach... *shiver*

    ReplyDelete
  62. looked like it a lot though. The glass is now smoke and its black and white its like the Sera Gamble theme :P

    ReplyDelete
  63. He may be preparing himself for his apology to Crowley.  That may be the only way he can get out of this one.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Here's what the title card looked like:

    http://cjab1234.tumblr.com/post/10580098068/w-i-n-c-e-s-t-so-gorgeous-i-love-it-though

    ReplyDelete
  65. I know right,  I thought he gave up on cas way to quickly, after last year "i see you like abrother" or something like that like family. and omg i need to rewatch it :P

    ReplyDelete
  66. I'm on 2 and 1/2 and its still kicking ass :D

    ReplyDelete
  67. I can't express my joy when the guys set up the spell right there in the Doctor's house... I love outsider POVs when it comes to Supernatural heroic feats... The poor civilians are thinking robbery, "Oh no, my precious possessions"... Then, "Death" and "God" have it out right in front of them.... Wow. LOVED IT!!!

    ReplyDelete
  68. One of the gatekeepers to hell. Gotta love it. Maybe Sam will have special relationship with them.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I can take Castiel dying (omg i did not just say that) if we get to keep misha through this season *prays and the next*

    ReplyDelete
  70. Skip the ads???? I'm going to buy a freaken CHRYSLER because they supported my show... Nope, can't do a Fiat... But a CHRYSLER? Hell Yeah!

    ReplyDelete
  71. what? it was great!! The souls and all. there is always a theme its cool.

    ReplyDelete
  72. And spray painted angel proofing on the ceiling.  I laughed when I thought about Crowley using a self-checkout at Home Depot trying to get three cans of Rust-O-Leum.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Was there a laugh? My husband is on the TV with the DVR and I have to wait like I'm not dying to rewatch my show immediately after I just finished it.... Won't he ever finish!!!! *grumps*

    ReplyDelete
  74. I guess he's back to where he was in season 5. I had hoped he'd moved beyond that.

    ReplyDelete
  75. They can't off the big bad in the first full episode. It'll end up like a Batman movie. Took FOREVER to kill the Joker in the comics. They did it one movie. TWICE.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Great start to season 7! I can understand why Dean is drinking his way through the day. He's going to have a hell of a time trying to get through to Sam since he's having hallucinations and doesn't seem to know what's real. Having Lucifer pop up and tell Sam he never left the cage and this was just an elaborate ruse is an amazing way to mess with Sam's head. Of course, Sam could try confiding in his brother, but hiding his problem is more in character (wrong thing for the right reasons). I loved Death. He is always so smooth. :) I loved how Sam and Bobby just stood back and motioned for Dean to take the lead with him. Great support guys. :)

As for Castiel, I'm glad he was somewhat redeemed. He finally realized and admitted his mistake -- which was good since there was no way they'd be able to get him there without his cooperation -- although I think it's a little too late for forgiveness.  I think losing Cas as a friend is gonna hit Dean very hard, that's why he's distancing himself. Dean doesn't trust many people and when they break that trust, he's not quick to forgive. Unless it's Sam, but I think that's more because he's always felt responsible for his brother.

In the Bible, a Leviathon is a kind of ancient evil sea monster. I'm interested to see where Supernatural takes this. And it's always a pleasure to see the King of Hell. Crowley hiding out in a RV covered in anti-angel sigils was a hoot. And I loved him delivering the binding spell by FedEx. :)

Leaving the ep at a cliffhanger was excruciating. Where is Sam? Is Bobby ok? What is this new big bad gonna do with Dean? I can see them getting in over their heads very quickly. Looking forward to the next ep!!

    ReplyDelete
  77. yeah lol right when the end credit appeared. i was to focus on FREAKING THE HELL OUT to notice haha

    ReplyDelete
  78. That was GREAT. Also the meathooks and the chains...that was great...I want more of that please. lol
Also, PsychoCasthian (And so Wilson names it, so it shall come to pass) ripping all those people apart, and the ending scene was just great.

    ReplyDelete
  79. I tend to do that... confused people... and myself.. oh well

    ReplyDelete
  80. I have NO idea what you just said but it made me laugh ahah

    ReplyDelete
  81. The dripping blood/primordial ooze or whatever was drizzling from the letters?

    ReplyDelete
  82. A stunning, well-paced, awesome episode.  What a great start to the season and a cliffhanger right out of the gate.

    ReplyDelete
  83. I did noticed that if you pay attention to the opening part it looks like a skull exploding?
Then again I might be seeing that much like Sammy was seeing Lucifer.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I like Casthian... Great name! Psycho!Castian feels good too, evil just doesn't say enough.

    ReplyDelete
  85. I LOVED Cas whacking an entire building full of New Age Motivational Speakers.  His stained glass tribute to himself was good, too.

    ReplyDelete
  86. A big fat AGREED to this comment.
While it didn't ruin anything for me, Dean's regression to "My Bloody Valentine =Empty Dean" was a drag. I dunno. I still loved the episode.

    ReplyDelete
  87. It really did feel like episode 23 of season 6. Only I liked it a lot more than 90% of season 6.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Ok I'm ready for episode 7.02 now. Thanks. What's that? I've got to wait a whole week? BALLS!!!!
    I want it NOW.

    ReplyDelete
  89. I am currently shopping for a car, but I prefer American made... There were two car ads on during the show while I was watching. One was a nice sleek Chrysler ad, one was a Fiat ad with Jennifer Lopez dancing in the middle of the street for some reason. I think the Chrysler ad was geared more towards my age (seriously into the adult range) and the Fiat Ad was geared towards the 20 somethings...

But, glad you got a chuckle. I giggled so much through the whole thing... I just couldn't control my fan!girl... Castiel, Dean's hair, Death, Supportive!Bobby, hallucination!Sammy, trailer trash Crowley, Fixing the Impala, smiting the angels, and on and on and on...

There was just so much to love in this episode...

    ReplyDelete
  90. OMG, I totally missed that hint of a face / skull exploding... Do you think it hints at the Leviathans making Castiel explode... OMG!

OK, sorry. I am OMG'ing all over the place, and seriously I am close to 50, not 13...

    ReplyDelete
  91. He looked better when he was squatting in that abandoned house with the used contraceptives in the fireplace... When they summoned him into that tiny devil's trap he looked really rough...

But, my favorite was when he stretched his arms and waited to be smote.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Even after seeing it twice I'm still speechless. Supernatural is back. Finally.

This was such a perfect season start, it's frightening. This is my Supernatural as I was used to it before season 6. Fast, funny, great dialogues, each character has at least one memorable scene, and the overall story arc is building up slowly.
See, it's not that hard to do a great Supernatural episode.....now repeat that 22 times, and we're good...again.

Sam has disappeared, Cas seems to no longer be inside his vessel...so the situation seems dire, and there is little hope? Nah, we got the Winchesters, once they team up again they'll fix all this.....even if this takes them around 22 episodes. :) :)

Can't wait for Episode 2! Supernatural is back!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  93. His apology to Crowley?

    ReplyDelete
  94. Agreed. Now let's just hope the rest of season 7 is as well plotted as the first episode.

    ReplyDelete
  95. I think it represents the absence of everything they knew and relied on. The opposite of everything they've become accustomed to. Looking at it that way, it's very representative of where they intend to take the characters this season.

    ReplyDelete
  96. I feel the same. Supernatural finally has it's grove back, I hope it stays that way.

    ReplyDelete
  97. And a field full of dead angel ash wings. OUCH.

    ReplyDelete
  98. A crocodile hissing.....hmm could be.
For the first time I'm totally lost what they want to express with the title card.
Last year it was the wall shattering, but this year? Is the black smoke/liquid an avatar for the leviathans?

    Hm.

    ReplyDelete
  99. I don't know, but it makes me like it a little more. I wish the sound effects were better. The overused hissing sound just ruins it for me. I'd have preferred a far away wailing or something. However I do understand that it might be in honor of the leviathans and the monsters...

    ReplyDelete
  100. Was it just me or did it look like it was one angel copy and pasted in different positions? I didn't like the effect. Having just 1 in a shot allows it to really get some detail in like when Uriel and Gabriel died, but this looked cheesy to me.

    ReplyDelete
  101. I think there was about 10-12 actors or something like that playing dead angels when they shot the premiere...but yeah I agree, the effect was a bit weird^^;

    ReplyDelete
  102. Husband's off the TV, gotta start re-watching... I'm be back in 40-ish...

    ReplyDelete
  103. Compared to the pre-CGI photo we saw with all of the actors laying around, I loved it... It was kind of sad seeing all of the actors in suits looking like dead angles, but when the wings were added it looked positively devastating... especially when Castiel is walking through them like a teach talking to his students. Fab!

    ReplyDelete
  104. I cried but it was absolutely tremendous tonight.  Well written, well acted, fantastic!   Misha was at the best I have ever seen him!  Wow, MIsha!  Jared was fabulous as hallucinating Sam.  Jensen was great.  I can see Dean being that way.  Cas had been the ultimate portrayal.  Dean was  dealing with idea of Cas as God.  He would have tried to avoid it, but finally realizing he had to stop him.  Julian was obviously wonderful as Death, but he always is.  We go back to Misha as Castiel.  This was an Emmy award winning performance.  The cold calculating God, the heart broken angel trying to win Dean's forgiveness, and the dreadfully terrifying change in to the Leviathans.  Oh my word.  He was fabulous!  If he dies in episode 2, he has been given the same treatment as Jo and Ellen and I'm proud of him.  Sera you redeemed yourself.  Eric, thank you for creating the show has led to this.  If the rest of the season is as well written, we are in for the greatest season ever.  Thank you, Supernatural.

    ReplyDelete
  105. I forgot Crowley.  He was funny tonight.  I loved where he ended up and the trap set for  him.  He was just plain good tonight.  thee wasn't any bad acting.  Dean did not have that much but Jensen at first, Dean wasn't going to.  It was Sam's season, but Sera and Bob said that Jensen has more to do then we thought at first.  They said so much it's not good for a newly married man.  lol  They are all going to have a great season, I think.  Jared was fabulous tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  106. First things off: Dreadful grass angel burn CGI. I get thay they tried to go for the contrast between the beautiful and lively scenery and the dead angels, but it just so horrible, that made the Ringer boat scene look polished (well, not really)

I loved the fact that the episode kept me in the edge the whole freaking time, I had no damn idea about what was going to happen, and that was sheer awesome. The pacing, the acting, and Godstiel getting progressibly unhinged was priceless.

Mark Pellegrino is back, best Lucy ever (sorry JP) I'm scared of Misha Collins and his acting skills. (BTW I have a doubt if Castiel woke up at all or The Thousand in One Levy was just messing with Dean and Bobby)

Death lovely as always (extra points to that sceene for the bystanders)

    The not so hot.

It's weird seeing Crowley not in charge, kinda cheapens him.

Dean not caring about Cas at all (he brought you from hell and died for you twice dude, at least pretend to be sad or at least have conflicted emotions. It makes me wonder if Dean will ever love anyone besides Sam)

I like Sam now better than Dean, and it used to be the other way around. For the whole ep, Dean just seemed douchey and distant and with very few layers, until the end, when he showed sorrow for a fallen friend. And I don't know if Ackes is being too subtle, or Dean wasn't well written in this ep. But to make the inner turmoil a tad more visible would have been more than wellcomed.

The whole deal about Cas. Storywise, the possibilities are endless and to see Misha with a new role will be awesomesauce (great actor, thet little unhinged guy). But as a fanboy, I'm as sad as Carrie Fisher's Pam, looking oh so melancholic at the shore. And that is totally MY fault, because sooner or later, everyone in the supporting cast DIES HORRIBLY IN WAYS THAT MAKE JOSS WEDHON LOOK SANE AND ADJUSTED I mean, what was I expecting? this is Supernatural ya'll, Castiel was obviously going to met a grimm demise.

The whole time that I saw the scene of Cas being himself again, I knew, I knew that shit was going to hit the fan so hard. And it did, so damn hard that ir was a shitstorm for my heart. Now Jimmy's body (poor, poor Jimmy BTW) Is the vessel of the craziest bunch to date)

Oh Castiel, going to miss you so much.

You have to be a bit of a masochist to ove this show.

But overall, pros and cons weighted, season 7 promises so much creatively, that I'll let the butthurt fanboy in me gagged in the backroom.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Let's be honest, it was better then sex.

    ReplyDelete
  108. And Bobby, of course, as the glue holding the boys together. And calling Death "Your Honor" doesn't hurt!

    ReplyDelete
  109. From the pictures I have seen, my only thought was Dean's hair is longer.  Thank you, SPN.  He is so much cuter with longer hair.  It's about time, too.  Sam's is marvelous.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Oh yeah.  My thought's exactly.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Oh yeah.  A little longer then it was.  I'd love to see him wear like he had at Asylum in 09.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Thank you for that.

    ReplyDelete
  113. I can't even! This show is amazing. I can't believe I have only been watching it for less than a year. I have a hard time remembering what my life was like before Supernatural, but that's a good thing. I think. Anyways, I wish Cas had stayed back to normal, but this episode was still freaking amazing. And i am so happy Mark Pellegrino is back as Lucifer. I loved his Luci so much! Also you know, everyone else on this show was freaking amazing tonight per usual.

    ReplyDelete
  114. I agree about the field of dead angels. I would've settled for a few up close angels the way they usually show them in great detail. It really was awful to me.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Boy, what a premiere.
    EPIC. How epic, you ask?
Well, I can't quantify it in human terms.

Here's the new opening title card. :)

    ReplyDelete
  117. I thought that it was a very strong premiere--although I would have preferred this episode to have been in S6 but that's just me.

I'm looking forward to the rest of the season

    ReplyDelete
  118. First off, THANK YOU CW for giving us the rock music back.
That was definitely the best episode in a long time, and it makes me extremely excited for this season.

    ReplyDelete
  119. omg,
    that was unbelievably INCREDIBLE!!!!!
    i loved every minute
the rock music returned. the slow restoration of the impala. the new title card.
crowley was great. death was awesome and i was so glad to see him back, the lucifer bit was really interesting too
cas was great. he played so many characters tonight, it was incredible. i was on the edge of my seat the enitre episode and i think i lost my breath for that entire last scene
    so many good setups.
worth the wait entirely but now i am dying that we have another week to wait for the next one!!!
WHATS GOING TO HAPPEN TO SAM!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  120. could'nt agree more. this episode was incredible. by far one of the best i've seen in a while

    ReplyDelete
  121. i never noticed the skull but that's really cool. i still prefer season 6's but i think this one is awesome. its kinda like the black stuff that went up 'cas's' neck in that last scene. its like an explosion of leviathans. i think watching it after seeing the entire episode makes it seem way cooler

    ReplyDelete
  122. omg, i didn't even think of that. i'm so happy i wasn't watching the guest listed in the opening credits because i was so awesomely surprised by every guest appearance

    ReplyDelete
  123. I've watched it 3 times now and I really can't find anything to complain about. Which, let's face it, is amazing for a Supernatural fan.

    ReplyDelete
  124. So, I started my DVR and the world did this kerchunk thing...and suddenly it was right.  :-)

Let's see.  What did I think about tonight's ep.  I am so glad we don't have to deal with Casti-god for more than an episode.  The first thing that went through my mind when the Leviathan's took over Cass' body was 'Oh.  So does this mean Misha can stop doing the gravel voice?'  Didn't really sound like it to me, poor thing.

I won't say it's among my favorites of the season openers, but I did enjoy it.  I don't know if I would have been able to say that if Death hadn't popped onto the scene.  Easily my favorite scene.  What is that guy?  A couple of his lines had me thinking he is not of Earth origin.

Can't say I was sorry that Cass was taking out people who preached hate and violence in the name of God.

My only criticism of the ep is that what's happening to Sam was a little muddy for me.  Is he just fighting insanity?  The final scene with Lucifer helped, but I still felt like I needed a little more information.

Ultimately, the back half of the ep saved it for me.  I'm thrilled to have the  boys back.  I liked the way they settled Cass' story.

    Some great lines.

Hopefully, I'm making sense.  :-)  Yay!  They're back!

    ReplyDelete
  125. That was...insane!In a very good way!Still trying to pick my jaw off the floor!

To start from the beginning,I really like the new title card. We'll see what it symbolizes further in the season,I guess.Probably something tot do with the Leviathans.

To get it out of the way..Both Marks were amazing!Thrilled to see Lucifer again and Crowley was awesome,as always.

The Leviathans were an epic twist and I'm looking forward to seeing where the writers go with them.I mean, the opportunities are just endless.
And I'm calling it now,Cas isn't dead.Trapped deep inside his body, sure, but not dead. And I'm not saying it because I would cry for days if he was,but honestly, for me it's kind of a given that he's still alive..somewhere and somehow.

Sam disappearing was unexpected as well. His last scene with Lucifer was amazing. And I'm glad with the way they showed what he's going through.
I have to say one thing though..It's a long shot, but imagine if the events of season 6 and beyond were actually in Sam's mind, just a way of Lucifer to torture him.I can't decide if that would be the greatest or the lamest twist in the history of the TV! ; )
Also, and I know that I'm looking into things way too much, notice how Lucifer said to Sam that "you're still in the cage with me." I was expecting him to add "and Michael" but he didn't.Sera has hinted that we may see Adam again,so maybe it means something.

And Dean just lost one whole season of character development. No,I'm kidding..Too early to judge.Kind of reminded me of season 5 Dean though.I am expecting for the whole Sam thing and the Cas-is-dead(for now) thing to hit him pretty hard, but I want him to deal with it differently.

If this episode was any indication we're in for a crazy season! So good to have them back! : )

    ReplyDelete
  126. After a questionable Season 6 and an ok cliffhanger, I am officially psyched about this season!  This premiere made me truly excited for more of Supernatural for the first time since Season 5!

The premiere had everything I love: Sam's wall breaking ramifications, Death, Crowley, Mark Pellegrino, and a great little twist that showcased a truly awesome crazy Misha.

    ReplyDelete
  127. I have this urge to squeal and jump up and down with you.

    ReplyDelete
  128. It made me think of the psychological test cards when I first saw it.  The blotter thingies.  What are they called?  I like them though.

    ReplyDelete
  129. That was more than awesome! It was fucking EPIC!!!

    ReplyDelete
  130. OK, maybe I watched it 3 times and went 1 frame at a time through a few sections... I am feeling really good right now... But, will I ever be able to fall asleep?

    ReplyDelete
  131. Yes Sam is fighting for his sanity... I think it was Sera that said "he is losing his marbles"... More will be revealed about that in 7x02... I can't wait!

    ReplyDelete
  132. Don't know if anyone posted this already but it's late so I'm not going to read through all the comments, but did anyone else notice Dean was wearing an 'Eye of the Tiger' Tshirt when he was fixing the Impala?

    ReplyDelete
  133. Cool.  Thanks.  Sometimes, with some things, I don't want to wonder you know?  And I kept thinking that was it and maybe not and yeah...he's going insane.

    Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  134. (O_O) Whoa! That was some season premiere. Twist and turn and twist and turn... wonder if breaking point crossed already!
Did anyone notice that when the gate of purgatory was opened 'white shiny' mass went out of Castiel, I mean if he had old ones-Le'Viathan's' inside him wasn't it supposed to come out like black/slimy thingy? Was that Castiel who was thrown out?
Hmmm let see what the future episodes holds!!

    ReplyDelete
  135. Holy crap that was AWESOME!!!!!!!  I LOVED IT!!!

    ReplyDelete
  136. EPIC!!! SP BEYOND EPIC I HAVE NO WORDS FOR IT!
So many things happened. I was shocked and screaming and terrified and excited. This will be a helluva season!!

    ReplyDelete
  137. I think Dean is at the point where he just had so much shit thrown at him over the years that he just can't... anything anymore. He's ignoring whatever he can, maybe yes, even protecting the last traces of his mind, sanity, heart what he has left after so much pain and betrayal.

I think Dean is drowning right now... hopefully he will find his footing again, because it's been a long while since he's "I don't give a damn" shield was up this high.

This episode I was shaking my head and saying "Dean, no." so many times.
Along with "No, no no, Cas, no, argh, no"

    ReplyDelete
  138. Loved it. I wanted to send Godstiel to Washington DC and Wall Street. LOTS to smite there. LOL I'm really worried about Sam. Crowley was priceless. Dean is so lost. Bobby's got his hands full with two battered boys. Jim, Jared, Jensen, Misha, and Mark absolutely knocked it out of the park! S7 is going to kick ass!

    ReplyDelete
  139. That was fantastic!! Glad to see Sera Gamble is back to being great!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  140. A capital A for Awesome! What a great season premiere! Holy crap, when did Lucifer decide to show up after all these months?! I think he might be sticking around for a little while after all. Poor Cas, Dean and Bobby save him, then to find out the leviathan is still in him. I don't know a thing about those monsters, but it looked like having the souls in him was doing enough damage. Having Death make an appearance is always a surprise, too. He still gives me the creeps. I thought that maybe Sam would have a reaction to seeing Death since he had not seen him since he was re-souled (is that even a word?).
Next week's episode looks even better and I cannot wait until Friday gets here! I was so relieved that there was no time warp in between the finale and the premiere and that made it that much better. Welcome back, everyone, to what I know will be one of the best seasons yet!

    ReplyDelete
  141. This was the best premier ever!!!!!!! Everyone did an amazing job! Though I have a question for you dihard spoiler fans... was there any mention of Mark Pallenegro showing up in the premier or next weeks episode because it completely shocked me when he showed up! Im pretty shure it wsa kept under wraps but there are some posts that seem though know that it was coming.

    ReplyDelete
  142. Who voted awful? Whats wrong with you guys? That episode was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Que fangirl scream!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  143. Totally happy, sad, excited, worried, concerned and so much more.  I had every emotion you can think of while I watched Supernatural.   My guys are back!  *Doing happy dance*   They didn't disappoint at all!

    ReplyDelete
  144. this episode was epic but the openig credits it was so creapy, scary uuuuuuy to ghoustly hard to swalow a good message how the series will be and (leviatan bad shit) .

    ReplyDelete
  145. This may be one of my new favorite season premieres. Misha did an amazing job and had me completely terrified. The look on Dean's face killed me when he thought Cas was gone and I WAS NOT EXPECTING THAT ENDING AT ALL! Sam's storyline was amazing too...and ws totally suprised to see Lucifer back. And it wouldn't be Supernatural w/o those funny one liners that make u crack the hell up after an intense scene/moment goes down. I love how the season started and I am already dying for next weeks episode

    ReplyDelete
  146. LMAO Girl, I totally agree with you 200%! xD It was.

    ReplyDelete
  147. I agree with you, but I'm really not up for a rinse and repeat of Dean from Season 5. That was too hard on everybody, not only just Dean, but he broke Sam's heart because of it in Season 5.I never want to see that again. I liked how Dean was when they went to the mansion and Dean tied up those people. I loved the "Grey Poupon" comment he made! That's the Dean we know and love. That's the Dean I want to see. I am really not up for another season of watching Dean emo about like he did all of S4 and S5.

    ReplyDelete
  148.  Totally agreed! Where the hell is Sam!? Is he curled up in a corner somewhere, believing he's in the cage and hallucinating it? Did he run off? Is he out in a street somewhere running scared from Lucifer because of his hallucinations? Where is he!? I'm scared!!! :(

    ReplyDelete
  149. Trailer trash Crowley, downright freakin' rocked my stripey socks off! xD He was AWESOME last night! So smug and then Cas shows up and he's like O_O and then he retains that smugness and throws his arms out waiting for Cas to smite him. xD I loved his smartass remarks toward Cas too, about bending him over haha! Oh, Crowley. I am so glad you didn't die!

    ReplyDelete
  150. Rorschach or ink blot tests! ;D Yeah! That's kinda what it reminds me of too, but I think it's more in like an homage to the Leviathans this season.

    ReplyDelete
  151. And people who know NOTHING about our show think us fans are nothing more than a bunch of teenage fan girls!!  In fact, I've hardly come across ANY teenage fan girls.....my online SN group has a few grandmothers and no one under 30, LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  152. Leviathans are reptilian, so the hissing could be one of the sounds that the Leviathan makes. Speaking of sounds, did you hear the roar that came out of Cas when he was trying to hold back the Leviathans right before they took control? o.o

    ReplyDelete
  153. LOVED, LOVED LOVED the scene with Death.  He is SOOO cool.  (of course it's amazing that not only did the guys actually succeed in binding him, however briefly, but they lived to talk about it.  I don't care what Death says....I think he kinda likes them!!)  His confrontation with Cas, treating him like he was just another annoying child, was great!!

    ReplyDelete
  154. Sam did try. He woke up calling for Dean. He wasn't there and Sam went seeking them out. When he heard them talking, when he heard the frustration and the stress and the hurt in his brother's voice, he could just tell what all Dean was going through and how much was on his shoulders at that point in time. Sam didn't want to further burden his brother with his own problems. He was doing it to protect Dean. And Dean didn't quickly forgive Sam either. He didn't start fully trusting Sam until nearly the end of S5, so...

    ReplyDelete
  155. Totally agree with you. Supernatural IS back! And I actually felt scared and creeped out last night for the first time in a LONG time!

As for Cas, I think he's still in there, but I think that the Leviathans have control over him. Kinda like when a demon possesses a human, only this time the Leviathans are so ridiculously powerful (according to the scripture, only God can defeat Leviathan), they "run the show now" and Castiel may be trapped inside of his own vessel. Who knows? I'm just not so sure he's gone yet.

    ReplyDelete
  156. Very well said!!  As Dean said to Bobby, he's at the point of just expecting the worst because that all they ever get.  He's had SOO much dumped on him -- a huge part of which is Sam and his various crises over the years.  "Taking care of Sam" turned out to be a FAR huger, nearly impossible task, than Dean ever could have imagined, and yet it's so much a part of who he is he can never let it go.....nor would we want him too.  But it's GOT to be tearing him apart and wearing him down.

    ReplyDelete
  157. They should've used THAT roar in the opening. :P

    ReplyDelete
  158. :DDD Let's do it girl :P

AW gosh it was SO good it's killing me. Friday can't come fast enough

    ReplyDelete
  159. I TOTALLY agree with you there. Now that would've been more badass. I like the new title card, but I much preferred Season 6. I think Season 3's has been my favorite one by far, but I like what they did this season. It's definitely something new and different.

    ReplyDelete
  160. I liked someone's suggestion of LeviaCas

    ReplyDelete
  161. Poor Sammy!!  OMG...hallucinations he could probably deal with, but know
having this idea in his head that what's real may NOT be real???  Even
if he wasn't on the edge of insanity before, that might come close to
    pushing him over that edge.

I do have one TEENY-TINY complaint in this matter, though.....  I WANT
REGULAR, NORMAL SAM BACK -- brooding moodiness and all.  We've gone
through the demon blood thing, Soulless Sam (for a full half-season) no
less and we JUST get the Sam we know and love back, and now this.  I
want Sam just to be HIMSELF again!!!

    ReplyDelete
  162. I'm gonna post what I posted on another forum. I'm too tired to retype it all since I didn't sleep much! LOL Honestly I think I'm still reeling. I'm so... I mean, last night I felt like I had a buzz, but that could've been the beer talking! The episode was SO intense and everyone did a phenomenal job tonight in
terms of the actors! This was probably one of the BEST premieres I've
seen yet! SO intense and emotional and even some really good, funny
moments too! Death was badass as usual, Castiel was uber creepy but at
the same time, I kinda understood why he felt the way he did. Honestly,
my feelings with Cas are just so unsure at the time. I'm not really sure
what to think, truth be told.

I'm really not interested in watching Dean as an emotional basket case
all season long again, so I hope this doesn't last long... That's not a
bash. I'm just tired of seeing him hurting. I did get a little
frustrated with Dean though, when he started yelling at Sam. At that
point, Sam WAS fine when he told Dean he was okay. When he started
having the hallucinations was AFTER he'd told Dean he was doing okay, so
Sam didn't lie. He kept it from Dean because he was trying to protect
him. I wish Dean had gone a little easier on Sam, but we know how Dean
gets. He tends to lash out when he get scared or worried.

I found myself really hurting for Sam here. He woke up scared, terrified
from that nightmare and called out to Dean for comfort and Bobby too.
When he realized that they weren't there, he went seeking them out and
heard them talking. My heart ached for him here. The expression on his
face, when what he wanted was to tell Dean what had happened. He needed
that comfort and when he realized how stressed Dean was getting, he
decided not to, to protect Dean. I loved that and I hated it too because
they actually wrote Sam sympathetic for once and they showed how much
he loves and cares for Dean that he didn't want to be a burden. I just
wish Dean hadn't accused him of lying. *sighs* Dean, I love you, but
    calm down honey!

And poor Sam, he's such a massive sweetheart. He wears his heart on his
sleeve, I swear. The way he went out there and prayed to Cas and told
him that he still considers him one of them... Oh, Sam... And Crowley!
Well he's just as awesome as ever!
I am SO glad he didn't die!!! I'm a bit disappointed in one thing. I
wish Bobby would show that much care for Sam like he did for Cas in
tonight's episode... but maybe that's just me being dumb. Probably. And
OMG LUCIFER! HEEE!!! MARK PELLEGRINO!!! That made me SO HAPPY!!! (can't wait to meet him in Chicago next month!)

I loved how he was screwing with Sam. I knew he'd use mental and
emotional torture on him as well as physical. Oh, Luci, you are just so
positively deviously evil! And where is Sam!? Did he run out? Is he down
in a corner somewhere, scared and hallucinating, believing he's in the
cage? Dean! I get you had to open Purgatory, but you should've ran right
for Sam to find him before you started fussing over Castiel. Sam,
    please be alright!
All in all, I'd have to say this episode was intense as hell! Funny,
emotional, heartrending, and I don't believe that Cas is gone either.
Phew! That was a lot to type! Bring on next week already!!!

    ReplyDelete
  163. From the look of the promo the hallucination might stop after next week. I mean whats worst then nearly shooting your brother

    ReplyDelete
  164. The hallucinations are terrifying! I remember Jensen saying that there will be times that Sam checks out and he has to bring him back. I also remember Sera saying that there would be a break in Sam's psyche that may possibly not be fixable. :( :( Scared, janice!

I do agree with you though. I want normal Sam back too. I want the brooding and moodiness too, and I want to actually see him get emotional just one time this season. That's all I ask for. We haven't really seen Sam have a good cry since Dean died back at the end of S3. Sam needs one... severely...

But it was VERY Sam when he went out and prayed to Castiel, even though Cas tore his wall down, and told him that he still considers him one of them. Sam is the biggest sweetheart... he truly is. That boy has so much love for his brother and his friends. I think it really spoke of just how much Sam loves Cas too. Not just Dean.

    ReplyDelete
  165. I also don't want to see an entire season of depressed Dean. I hope after this Osiris trail in episode 4 we get to see that Dean gets on the path of getting slowly better.

I'd like to think after the trail Dean realizes the good he did over the  years and even if there were some errors in judgment, over all he is a good person and what he did saved people in countless numbers. Of course there were errors in judgment and things went wrong, but that happens when you have to make the difficult life and death decisions because there is none else.

This and that Sam might need more brotherly back-up then usual hopefully will bring the Dean back, we all miss.

    ReplyDelete
  166. Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger.

    ReplyDelete
  167. He and Bobby both banged up, no Sam just monsters they know nothing about in Castiel's vessel. Unless the monsters just leave Crowley or Death could be the only help they'd get. And Death probably won't be too receptive.

    ReplyDelete
  168. I loved it! Dean and his car ;) Sam trying not to worry his family ...again, Crowley was awesome as always and I really really pray that we haven`t seen the last of Death, because he`s brilliant!! Bobby and his retort towards Crowley just classic ;) And Misha just proofed what an excellent actor he is, the last few seconds were one hell of a ride he gave us! I really wish for Castiel to survive this season. Can`t wait for the next episode already!

    ReplyDelete
  169. Correct. Dean's always been about fighting the bad guys. He seems like he's given up. Can't beat god.

    ReplyDelete
  170. Gotta ask:  Who do you think was/were the voice/voices whispering to Castiel as he began to deteriorate?  I originally thought it was Lucifer but had no basis for my thought except it just showed up in my big old empty head. Ideas?

    ReplyDelete
  171. When we see Lucifer his vessel is fine.  Not like the last time we saw him. Does this mean it is a hallucination and not real? Where's Michael in all this? Wasn't he abusing Sam's soul WITH Lucifer down in the cage?

    ReplyDelete
  172. Definitely... I think that last season was probably my least favorite, especially coming off of a strong Season 5. But it looks like Sera and Co have finally hit their stride again.

I'll be interested to see how the Lucifer/Sam issue continues. I'll be a little annoyed if last season was mostly a dream. Although, this could be like the idea of Ganger Amy on Doctor Who... if that makes sense.

PS: I'm pretty sure Misha should submit this for SOME sort of consideration reel. After the episode ended, the first thing I thought was "Holy s***, Misha was fantastic tonight." He severely creeped me out.

    ReplyDelete
  173. I've only watched twice so far but I'll watch a third time this evening. I tried to be critical and nitpicky but I literally couldn't find anything to ***** about. I was so jazzed last night (actually by the time I got settled down to "sleep" it was 3 am) that I got very sleep. new episode of SPN used to routinely affect me like that but only a few S5 & S6 eps "got me" like that.

    ReplyDelete
  174. It was awesome! Misha did a wonderful job, creeping me out like that!

    ReplyDelete
  175. There was a rumor a while back that Mark was on set, but they managed to keep it relatively quiet

    ReplyDelete
  176. I knew if I thought about it long enough I'd come up with something to complain about: Where was the Impala's 'back in black' moment? We only got a tiny glimpse of her arriving at the Weiss's. That's it. From now on this premiere sucks in my book. How dare they leave out my Baby's triumphant return?

    ReplyDelete
  177. To be honest, this was definately my favorite episode in a long time. I loved how we got a solid mix of character development and story. Both Sam and Dean had equally important roles to play, while Bobby got to be a great asset as well. Crowley, Death and Lucifer were all played amazingly. Last season's ending was made three times better due to Castiel's role in this episode. I'm glad they returned the souls to Purgatory. and I love the Leviathan storyline almost as much as the Alpha's intro last season. Definately gonna be a great season!

    ReplyDelete
  178. I'm pretty sure those were the Leviathans, frank. Lucifer doesn't really have anything to do with Cas. The voices Sam was hearing were most likely Lucifer, but I think the voices Cas was hearing were the Leviathans.

    ReplyDelete
  179. I'm pretty sure it's all a hallucination. Lucifer's vessel was pretty much deteriorating and Nick was dead once Lucifer left Nick's body and went to Sam's body. Michael went down there, yeah, and he was also in Adam when he went, so I'm sure we'll eventually find out what's going on there sometime this season, if not next episode.
