As much as I want that badass old broad Hetty back, I actually like Hunter. Yes, she's a transparent plot device and the way they're forcing nonexistent chemistry between her and Callen is even more blatant, but I still like her. I want Hetty back to her old position as soon as possible, but I wouldn't mind Hunter sticking around in some capacity.
There's one more thing still bothering me, however; something I thought was resolved during last season. I'm far from the biggest Deeks fan, but even I'm annoyed with how the other three in the team keep ganging up on him. It's not funny, or cute, and it throws off the dynamic because it makes it painfully obvious how unequal Deeks is to the others. There's a world of difference between friends busting each other's balls and three dicks dumping constantly all over one person. I wish the writers would move past this lazy and pedestrian shtick. Come on, writers. You're way better than this.
Ok, back to NCIS LA, I think Hetty should come back sooner or later, Hunter is beyond irritating, but that shows she is a plot device, does anyone else think that Hunter may turn out to be Callen's sister??
As for Kensi would like to see more of Kensi in the next episode as for the Deeks "bullying" I find it amusing, similar to when Dinozzo was constantly picking on McGee, but I would like to see perhaps it was spread out a little to perhaps some of the others so not to ruin a good thing?
This was pretty good. I like the tension between Callen and the new boss. I'm surprised I'm saying this but I think NCIS LA has already become better at weaving serial elements into their weekly episodes than their parent program, NCIS, which was fairly dull and unoriginal this week.
"as for the Deeks "bullying" I find it amusing, similar to when Dinozzo was constantly picking on McGee"
That's different for a whole slew of reasons (for me, anyway), one very prominently being that McGee isn't being ganged up on by the others, along with DiNozzo. Plus there's plenty of times where McGee gives it back, as well as when DiNozzo is teased by the others; it's equal, it's friends busting each other's balls. When Sam, Callen and Kensi gang up on Deeks it's a far different vibe for me. It's not friend's teasing each other; it's three dumping on one. Meh. I am aware that plenty of others do find it amusing, however, so I guess it will continue.
"but I would like to see perhaps it was spread out a little to perhaps some of the others so not to ruin a good thing?"
My point exactly. It needs to be equal. Have Kensi and Deeks pick on Sam sometime without it desolving into "take a shot at Deeks, everyone!". Have Sam and Kensi pick on Callen the same way and with the same tone they go after Deeks. Seems ony fair, yes?
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
loveed it !
ReplyDeleteBridget Regan! I almost didn't recognize her. She became even more attractive.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't help think the entire time how much I wished Bridget had been cast as Hunter instead of CF. It was good to see her though.
ReplyDeleteWas Kensi on her period during this episode?
