Loved it! Marshall and Lily cheated though, so Barney shouldn't have lost. And it was nice seeing Victoria, but WTF REALLY WHAT ARE YOU DOING? at the end there.
So glad they had Victoria say what she did at the end. It's been something that has been on the minds of a lot of fans ever since Barney/Robin first happened.
They really handled the telling of the story well too with Robin always being the one to bring us back to the story while Ted was more than happy to just let it go unsaid.
Well, whole story started by meeting Robin, so I think she really has to have bigger impact on Ted meeting the mother. Although, I don't think Robin is mother/wife - I think she and Ted will try again, but after they breakup again, Barney will realize how much he loves her and Robin will end up with Barney on wedding, where Ted mets future Ms. Mosby.
Loved to see Victoria again! With Robin, she is my favorite Ted's girlfriend. What Ted said at the end "It didn't work out" meaning the friendship between Barney, Robin and Barney... I think he means that Robin is gonna be unable to keep her facade of supporting friend of Barney and Nora's. I hope Robin will be Barney's bride, and that Ted will meet his future wife in Robin's weeding. Thats way he started the story with Robin... That would make sense as a closed circle.
I both liked and hated this episode. I liked the way this episode was set-up, structurally. Robin and Ted weaving in his story with Victoria while the other three had the boob plot was well done. Also, I liked the reappearance of "a bang, bang, a bangity bang..." The downside is that I get it stuck in my head.
What I hated was the return of this vicious, incestuous dating / love / infatuation cycle with Ted, Barney, & Robin. Ugh. Enough already. I'm over it.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteAmazing!! Victoria is the mother!! It's so clear!! I´m sure!!
ReplyDeleteOr at least that I wanted ...
Awesome,as every HIMYM episode. But the ending,,,ARRG,I hate it when they do this kind of thing. And also love it.
ReplyDeleteI love the pace and how the Victoria plot was interleded by the boob plot, very funny.
ReplyDeleteAnd urgh! Victoria really caught something there, and I kinda agree with where the writers are going.
I loved the episode!! I just really REALLY wish Victoria could somehow in the grand scheme of things end up being the mother!!

I don't think so, because the mother was in the class in seson 5 ep. 1 when Ted started to teach and he was in the wrong class.

Loved the ending!
ReplyDeleteAnd it's hilarious if they make Barney keep that tie on the entire season
