  2. I really like Rachel Bilson but I think this is one of those shows that I will have to watch a few episodes of to decide if I like it or not....

  4. Checked it out of couriosity and that I like Rachel Bilson. It was ok. Not nearly as bad as I was expecting from the reviews I've read. Believable? not really, but decent fare that will have a tough road in this time slot.

  5. I've been wanting to add a more family friendly show to my watch list so I'll probably be a bit more lenient on this show than others.

The pilot was decent but not without its problems.
     - The narration is bad.
     - There were too many wooden line readings by Bilson.
     - Dr. Brick "the dick" Breeland was way too over-the-top.
     - Although not really a problem, I'd appreciate some better music choices.
     - Losing Nancy Travis to that Tim Allen sitcom is going to suck.
     - Lemon is going to need some character development fast before she's totally annoying.

There's good stuff about the pilot too.
     - Cress Williams was great.  Seriously.  He was better than everyone else in the pilot, to be honest.
     - Even though it's hokey, the premise of the show is easy to enjoy.
     - The use of locale was good.
     - Even though there were complaints about Bilson being believable as a doctor, I thought her interaction with patients was where she was strongest.  I liked her lack of bedside manner with Porter's character.
     - Fish out of water and culture clash themes can be a lot of fun when done right.  I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that I completely agreed with Zoey about those Belles.

I watch a lot of shows that either have salacious behavior or guns and violence (and plenty of them have both) so, despite its shortcomings, this show is a nice change of pace for me.  I had that with Life Unexpected until the damn thing was canceled.

  6. Good old-fashioned light-heated fun. Family friendly (so far) and just something different than most of the other stuff on TV.

It's not going to win any awards, but it is fun.

I'm not sure Rachel Bilson is able to carry a series honestly.... Just not a brilliant actress. She is cute and easy to watch  though - even when reading lines like they are in a second language. XD

  7. I generally hate people that speak in the third person when referring to themself, but I can accept it with Lavon Hayes. He's the mayor, that entitles him to use third person.
