Awesome episode. First...and then..and at the end...!
I figured we were dealing with a version of Olivia who never got over the death of her partner. It's also interesting that he was never revealed as a "traitor" in this reality.
Hints at Peter, Walter feeling empty... Olivia missing "something (or someone)" in her life, new Observer, new shape shifters and Lincoln can play in all the cool kids reindeer games now!
I liked it and LOVED Seth Gabel .. he brought so much for the episode since Charlie's death.. and this void they're feeling, I'm feeling excited to know more in the upcoming episodes..
Lincoln Lee is kind of our introduction to the world of Fringe in this universe like Peter and Olivia were in the first season of Fringe. He is the one new to the FRINGE team while Olivia is old hat now. So it's great.... We get to learn about this universe and its Fringe Team through Olivia telling the newbie on the team, Lincoln.
TOTALLY DIFFERENT SHOW! I miss our Liv, and PETER of course. Its cool to see this walter, he's interesting. I can't wait to watch it again tomorrow. As for You September I'm glad you chose not to get rid of Peter's energy because I was getting ready to be REALLY REALLY MAD AT YOU! It took a while to really kick in, and i'm not quite sure it has yet...its so different. I wouldn't reccomend this episode for a new viewer though, I don't feel like it speaks much to the greatness that is Fringe as an overall show, don't get me wrong its still great but a different great WAY different. If this was my first epi i might label it too much and stop but as an AVID fan I'll give it time to play itself out and enjoy the ride
Wow, awesome start to the season. - Olivia and Altlivia snark! ALL THE AWARDS to Anna Torv. - Altlivia's face when she saw our-Lincoln. So amusing. - It was a great call to use this as a way to introduce Lincoln to Fringe, and the audience to Lincoln! I'm really happy Seth is a regular. - I can't wait to get further into the season, I miss Peter!- OMG September. - Also, I am so ready for Astrid to use her gun. I know this is only the premiere, but MOAR ASTRID. Always.
I loved the little flashes of Peter. I loved Lincoln's re-introduction. I love how Astrid and Olivia don't really take any bull**** thus far, and the parallels between the pilot and this one really did make it feel like a pilot itself.
My original guess was that it would take 2 or 3 episodes for Peter to be back in some form.... Now he has re-appeared (A-P-P-E-A-R was the glyph clue) in episode 4.01 already so maybe they will take abit longer to bring him back.
I still think it will be fewer episodes than most people thought though.
Mind. Blown. Pure awesomeness! And September. I was sitting there cheering him on then quite literally gave a whoop of joy when he showed his good side! Epic epic epic
Don't know whether I liked it enough to vote Awesome, so I gave it a Great, Feels like a new show, Miss Peter and the chemistry he had with Walter, Walter got Astrid's name right I will miss Walter calling her Asterix and Aspirin. Next weeks episode looks Awesome
Ok got to formulate my thoughts now. *deep breath* Olivia was so hardened. It was so sad to see. Worse than seeing her broken in season 3. Seeing this bada$$ FBI agent not taking any bull from anyone was similar to how she was in the very beginning but lacking the heart behind her drive. She was so so so focused on the task at hand and not letting her emotion stand in the way. Almost. It seemed like she opened up to Lincoln a lot quicker than she did with Peter. Perhaps because Lincoln was a lot more open with his feelings than Peter was in the beginning. Regardless, this episode proved that as awesome as Lincoln is, he simply could not fill that hole of not having Peter there. That hole was so apparent from the very first scene between Faux and Olivia. Their anger very close to the surface, lacking any of the softness that they both received since their time with Peter. Walter, still so lost in his own mind. Heartbreaking. Seeing that in the now 20 years since he was first institutionalized, he had not improved at all. Of course, his paranoia meant seeing and hearing glimpses of Peter which just made me burst with happiness. The case itself was a major callback to the Pilot which was fitting for this being the "series" premiere ;) Especially with Olivia telling Lincoln about John Scott. VERY interesting (and frustrating because I never liked him ;) to learn that John died (because Peter hadn't been there to help save him) and he had never been exposed as traitor. Makes my head spin to think of just how much will have changed with a lack of Peter. But makes me wonder if when Peter does come back, will the timeline just revert back to the original one or continue this new way. An interesting spin that these are new shapeshifters possibly being created by Walternate when he is supposed to be playing nice. Turns the tables a bit that Walter is working to fix things, while Walternate is in a sense, impeding it by causing trouble and killing people over here. Or is he? Because it seems that those people weren't really dead after all. Does this mean a return of Lincoln's partner? Perhaps a callback to when Charlie was killed and impersonated by a shapeshifter...
Loved seeing Fauxlivia and Olivia go at it. I didn't really think they would be best friends, but good to see that they still had a reason to be angry and the writers are taking the time to show that. Speaking of that, I guess it isn't just the fact that Peter had an impact on both of them, but for Fauxlivia, Henry isn't there either and he was a BIG part of her softening. I do love seeing Fauxlivia's arrogance and cockiness back though. And it seemed like even Astrid was influenced by the lack of Peter. She seemed just as caring for Walter but just a touch shorter with her patience in comparison to (surprisingly) Olivia who seemed more patient with him. And finally, the observers. I don't trust them, I honestly feel like some of them are up to no good, once again intervening. September interrupted Walternate when he would have found a cure. He then course corrected by saving Walter and Peter. Only to eliminate Peter once he "served his purpose" So. What was the original plan supposed to be? Peter living or Peter dying? Either way, it appears to me that they needed Peter alive only long enough to create this bridge. But whatever plans (devious or otherwise) that the observers were trying to pull off, September changed the course. He stood up for what was right, not forever erasing Peter from memory. He could see the impact that Peter has on everyone that, I believe, September has grown to love. So, my hope is that in the finale when there was an overhead view of the parking lot and it said "Only Sept" will come to mean that September will be responsible for bringing Peter home, against the other observers wills.
All in all, EPIC episode and a great kick-off for the new season. Can't wait to see what the rest of the season holds and of course for Peter to come back
I liked it a lot but I noticed a couple of things that may or may not mean something. First, apparently in this timeline cell phone reception is a much bigger issue, LOL. Second, it almost seemed to me that Olivia didn't get cortexiphan as a child. Her ability to "connect the dots" so to speak seemed sorely missing. Lincoln had to make the connections for her that it seems like the old Olivia would have caught.
I think its going to be one of those episodes that get better with time. Right now everything is different and there are a million questions. And of course, everyone is focused on finding Peter. I think after a couple episodes, we will go back and have a different view of it.
Maybe that's why I liked it more than some. I'm not really concerned with where Peter is as much as where everyone else is.
Peter will come back in time, but even once he returns there is no guarantee we will return to FRINGE as we know it from the past 3 years. So I think finding out more about this current universe or reality is more interesting personally.
You might be onto something with the reception being bad. Microwaves affecting the cell phone reception so drastically seems odd to me. Maybe there is some larger reason and a connection between why reception is poor and Peter is still around in some form.
I loved this! It was awesome! Though I missed the first 6 minutes... I thoroughly enjoyed it! Wish I could watch tomorrow, but have to wait until next Saturday to watch online... :(
I wonder which partner Olivia was referring to. The one who died, I mean. Was it John Scott or Charlie. If Charlie was her partner at the time, perhaps we'll see John Scott down the line.
I loved ep 1. The re-set is a great way to show what Peter brought to the team .....and to each of the team members lives. Great to see September ....and see that perhaps he to has develeped an attachment to the people he's observing (just like August did). When it came time to erase someone from time ....he couldnt do it. After all, it was he who said..."the boy is important he has to live" Cant wait for ep 2.
Yeah, that is curious. Makes me excited to see what else has changed. Also, poor Walter...
Most especially fascinating since now we're seeing a Liv that is quite different without having met Peter. You can see how each of them are so vastly changed without just one person in their lives. Also Our Lincoln's face at the sight of alt Liv, and the discussion. His reactions were great. Can't wait until he meets himself.
Love all the little things you can pick up that changed and all the hints at Peter being around. Also really glad that September didn't do anything to officially erase Peter, he seems genuinely intrigued by the prospect of things not occurring as the Observers expect them to go.
I always was intrigued by OurLee even before his brief appearance last year. If Lincoln was so important 'over there' than OurLee had to have some role to play. Then when he did show up and left in that cryptic way I became more interested.
He seemed to be the combination of Olivia and Peter to me - good intuition and good ingenuity... and bonus points for usually being light-hearted.
I like the bad-assery of Lincoln Lee over there, but OurLee seems to have something just beneath the surface that draws me in more than his alternate honestly. Knowing he has a part to play, but not knowing what exactly it will be is fun too.
Oh man so good, I love Lincoln, I love poor messed up Walter and poor empty Olivia. I love the snark between the two Olivia's, I frigging love the Observer for going rogue!
Absolutely awesome!!!!!! I was scared of the whole character evolution knowing that Peter never existed, but now that the first ep of the season is out, I am totally reassured! I just loved it from beginning to end, with thumbs up for: - Olivia/Altlivia electric relationship. I wish Olivia would have been more badass in her answers, but heh... - Olivia/Lincoln interactions. The characters work well together, the writers did a good job at it! - Walter in the tank and the hilarious face Lincoln does.
I didn't like it enough to vote awesome, but it was great, and I did really enjoy it. Peter's absence is sorely missed, but I did like how they portrayed the characters without Peter, I thought they rang very true, which I was worried about before seeing the ep. The best thing in the episode for me was the (re)introduction of our Lincoln Lee. Seth Gabel is amazing, and I really can't wait to see more of him. All in all...roll on next week's episode.
That's true, but I was thinking more about how both the girl who took the pic with her cell phone and Lincoln were both concerned about reception. It seemed odd to me that it would even be on their minds in a major city.
Right... and I noticed that too... It was a bit odd.
Then add to it Walter having reception problems when the microwave was on and Astrid having interference or squelching.... 4 instances in rather few circumstances where they used phones.
Funny, I couldn't have cared less about AltLincoln until they introduced us to OurLincoln in the episode about the woman who couldn't die. I've always been a sucker for cute nerds, I guess.
The funny thing is when I wrote citrine I was thinking of the green version which is more rare. I looked it up and discovered it is actually pretty similar to amber in color. Usually a bit more orange or brown. Amber can be that deep orange too though of course.
All 3 of these are citrine... and all look amber in color I agree! XD I love the Citrine Geode or cathedral!
Awesome episode, It definitively is the best place beside watch from the start to jump into Fringe, as it introduces the world of Fringe very well, though Lincoln, and although long term fan might want to see more of other side limiting the characters to ones mainly on this side really pay off in this regard.
For long term find it as enough bit of info to start answer some of the questions regard the loss of Peter and how it going to effect the series.
Freak of week, was a great way to explore the new fringe universe, set up the main story arc of season 4, and also the freak of week was very well tie to o this season overall story arc
This show is awesome and knows how to renew it self. Most other shows goes down hill after the first 2 or 3 seasons. Fringe just keeps getting better.
Sure, I missed Peter aswell, but there was so much other stuff going on, that I almost forgot. I really like them bringing Lincoln Lee in this way. I always liked him on the other side and I love that they changed his character, so he wasn´t the same bad ass as "over there". Its gonna be fun to see Olivia and Lincoln working together.
God, I have missed Walter! So good to see him again!
Unfortunately, I felt the same way. Guess I should avoid the spoilers from now on. The world seems to be different, Olivia is different, Walter too... But I guess that was the changes..the world without Peter.. As much as I love Fringe, I have to vote "OK" now. I need to rewatch it again to change my perception. OK is just seems not right for me.
I'm gonna reserve "Awesome" for episodes like "Peter". But this season Premiere had so much fun and emotional stuff in it. So much better than the 1st season. :))
It was like watching a new show, i guess it helps for the ratings and i actually really like it. I can't wait to see more of Alt!Livia and Olivia working together, Anna Torv has chemistry like crazy with...oh wait...nevermind. I think it was really cool that Our!Lincoln was important in this ep, it's nice for a first ep as a regular :) And the end... Mind blown, as usual.
I was really happy that I stayed away from the spoilers this go around. Usually I'm a hug junkie, but I was watching The Last Sam Weiss the other day and when they found the pic of Olivia tied to the machine, it hit me. I had seen that pic before the episode aired and it took the shock away from that scene. Watching last night without spoilers was truly, truly enjoyable. I would recommend it to anyone :)
did anyone else notice a picture from the ASSASSIN'S CREED:BROTHERHOOD game on Walter's computer screen(it's the scene where there is a body found in a car)??this pic appeared(on the game) during one of the Clusters(don't remember which one).does anyone know the lable of the pic?
They should've had Alt-Olivia come in, then notice OurLincoln and just smirk and take a picture of him. Then Lincoln would've asked what was this for and Alt-Olivia would've answered I need to show this to somebody (like to tease Alt-Lincoln with his nerdylookin alternate version) :D
I loved the idea of new shapeshifters and how it was similar to season 2 premiere, the episode which made me fall in love with Fringe permanently. I've always loved the shapeshifters and am happy that seemingly their story isnt over yet.
But knowing Fringe writers, it would be too easy to have Walternate be behind all this again. But if he is, I guess these are called the SECOND WAVE, as the first shapeshifters were called the FIRST WAVE.
Who knows, maybe Prime Universe government has produced these shapeshifters after learning Walternate's shapeshifters and created their version - a better version, or maybe even massive dynamic because we do not know if Walter is the head of Massive Dynamic in this timeline. We dont even know where Nina is or what SHE is like.
Or maybe it's even a third option (probably :D)
All in all, a good episode. I love that Lincoln is now a main charatcer, this is so awesome.
Additionally, am I the only one who thinks these new shapeshifters are not better than the last ones? it takes them so long to grow a face and all that while the last ones just stuck the wire to victim's mouth and were them with a matter of seconds.
On the other hand, the bastard did start a fire with his hand so maybe they have like supernatural type of abilities added. But the one Lincoln killed died from bullets in the chest, with the last ones it was a headshot or nothing.
Oh well, I'm pretty sure we will see and learn about these shifters more and find out whats up with them.
I enjoyed the premiere and am especially interested to see how things are different because Peter was not around. I loved that this gave Astrid a bigger role, allowing her to go into the field. Poor Walter was a mess and I like them recognizing that Peter tethered him to sanity. Even Olivia was different, more stiff and black and white. I'm hoping to see more subtle changes as the season continues, but I really can't wait until Peter is on screen again.
I am puzzled about the Observers and their game plan too. Sometimes they seem benevolent and other times shady. How do they know what the best course in history is and what is the end result of that history? Of all the things I question in Fringe, the Observers cause me the most concern.
I agree. In some ways it felt a little too monster of the week for a premiere and after all that happened at the end of last season. I did like how they played on this as almost an alt-universe in itself since Peter's presence was missing. I think I like altLincoln better and I missed Charlie but AltOlivia was snarky fun. I think the most interesting thing was the Observers because I am really questioning their motives now. Maybe that's just because I like Peter and don't want him erased though.
Took me a bit to get around to watching. Need brain cells and they were a little burned out from the week.
I liked it. Liked seeing Agent Lee from this side. Liked the crime of the week. It left several questions like why Lee's partner didn't rise when the Asian female victim did.
Anyone ever notice that in stories when people adjust time to "fix" something..they're *never* finished? Something's always quite right and they want to go back and make another tweak to fix that...then something's not quite right so they have to make another tweak to fix that.....then.....
Walter remains a favorite character. not happy that Peter's gone. I didn't like the pilot all that much; was a little bored. But there was Walter! That character is why I watched long enough to get hooked on the story. I like Peter and Walter. That was a major miss for me in this episode. But I did love that Peter was the mysterious man Walter was seeing. Right now I'm mostly waiting for Peter to return.
I agree about the MOTW thing, though by the end they'd managed to convince me that this was more of an episode which had a view to furthering a story arc, because of the new shapeshifter's apparent connection to Walter. Currently I like AltLincoln better, but I'm going to give this Lincoln a bit more of a chance to establish his character, I liked the fact that he wasn't willing to back down when it was the happiness of his partner's family at stake. Also, I agree, I desperately missed Charlie, he is still my favourite secondary character in the show, I was gutted when they killed him off at the end of S1. The Observers are seriously freaking me out, because it really does seem that they have their own agenda going on, and also, yeah, they erased Peter in some way, and I really want him back. The balance of the show is all wrong without him, which I guess is sort of the point. I think it would be very interesting if they brought him back with memories intact but left the other characters without their memories of Peter (I've heard rumours of something to this effect and I think they could make it work).
Maybe it's because in this new yellow universe they no longer have their special Sprint phones with face-to-face talking capability and THAT is the huge hole that makes their entire world feel a little more empty.
I would agree that it wasn't the most absolutely jaw-dropping non-stop thrill ride and was more downplayed and subtle,(I still get chills from "A New Day in the Old Town" but it felt like a gateway for new viewers (probably the only one we'll get in this show this season) and a way to show a day in the life of this world without it's Peter, without giving too much exposition. It worked for me because even the way the story was told was deadpan and slightly cynical, for all the characters were obviously negatively affected by their lack of Peter. I think the tone of the entire episode was perfect for conveying the lacking...
Not bad. Even though I wasn't really thrilled with the case of the week, Walter was awesome, the Observer b-story was good, and the Olivia / Fauxlivia scenes were great. I can't get over what a shrew Fauxlivia is now.
i agree with you!!! i was a bit disappointed... every season so far has started with a very good episode and i feel like this one really does not live up to the expectations built by last season's finale.
i don't think it's a matter of avoiding spoilers. i always read/see them and although it's true that sometimes i end up wishing i hadn't read/seen that many, i'm still able to thoroughly enjoy the episode. the season premiere was just not good enough, imo.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Awesome episode. First...and then..and at the end...!

ReplyDeleteHints at Peter, Walter feeling empty... Olivia missing "something (or someone)" in her life, new Observer, new shape shifters and Lincoln can play in all the cool kids reindeer games now!
Yep.. all the same but a bit tweaked since she had to solve the case without Peter's help.
ReplyDeleteI liked it and LOVED Seth Gabel .. he brought so much for the episode since Charlie's death.. and this void they're feeling, I'm feeling excited to know more in the upcoming episodes..

It really felt like a pilot.
ReplyDeleteI think Lincoln will get better. He won't be the badass version of himself that we've seen on the other side but I think he'll work well with Olivia.
ReplyDeletePeter shouldn't be gone too long. After all, he had a heavy presence in the premiere and it looks like he'll be even more present next week.

ReplyDeleteWalternate may not be responsible for the new shapeshifters. Maybe Peter is.... XD

ReplyDeleteYeah I was wondering whether she was in Walter's drug trials as well!...
ReplyDeleteWe'll see how it plays out.
Loved it! That's all I can say.
ReplyDelete"Sometimes answers lead to more questions." Agreed.
:O
Oh yes, this Astried had really ashorter temper, sad part that she wasn't very sweet to Walter. Courious about that for the next ep.
ReplyDeleteLove Fringe, it's one of those shows that's empirically good.
Yeah, I think it was Peterferance as well.
ReplyDeleteBut they needed give Lincoln something to do, to prove Olivia that she could use him. I think it was necessary for the episode to work.
ReplyDeleteThat, should be the show's motto XD
ReplyDeleteHa! "Peterference "
ReplyDeleteMe likey!
I just felt bored somehow.
ReplyDeleteYeah, that is curious. Makes me excited to see what else has changed. Also, poor Walter...

ReplyDeleteSeriously?
ReplyDeleteI thought that episode had a lot going on in every scene.

ReplyDeleteHe seemed to be the combination of Olivia and Peter to me - good intuition and good ingenuity... and bonus points for usually being light-hearted.
I like the bad-assery of Lincoln Lee over there, but OurLee seems to have something just beneath the surface that draws me in more than his alternate honestly. Knowing he has a part to play, but not knowing what exactly it will be is fun too.
I loved how Peter can only be seen in mirrors like he is shifted from our reality but still there!
ReplyDeleteOh man so good, I love Lincoln, I love poor messed up Walter and poor empty Olivia. I love the snark between the two Olivia's, I frigging love the Observer for going rogue!
ReplyDeleteIt was wonderful. So good to see Fringe back. I want peter back soon!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely awesome!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI was scared of the whole character evolution knowing that Peter never existed, but now that the first ep of the season is out, I am totally reassured!
I just loved it from beginning to end, with thumbs up for:
- Olivia/Altlivia electric relationship. I wish Olivia would have been more badass in her answers, but heh...
- Olivia/Lincoln interactions. The characters work well together, the writers did a good job at it!
- Walter in the tank and the hilarious face Lincoln does.
I can't wait to see what's next!
Disappointing, I expected more, and the actor playing Agent Lee was good in the alternate universe but he not so much over here...
ReplyDeleteI didn't like it enough to vote awesome, but it was great, and I did really enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteThat's true, but I was thinking more about how both the girl who took the pic with her cell phone and Lincoln were both concerned about reception. It seemed odd to me that it would even be on their minds in a major city.
ReplyDeleteRight... and I noticed that too... It was a bit odd.
ReplyDeleteThen add to it Walter having reception problems when the microwave was on and Astrid having interference or squelching.... 4 instances in rather few circumstances where they used phones.
I thought it was more of an amber color. :)
ReplyDeleteFunny, I couldn't have cared less about AltLincoln until they introduced us to OurLincoln in the episode about the woman who couldn't die. I've always been a sucker for cute nerds, I guess.
ReplyDeleteThe funny thing is when I wrote citrine I was thinking of the green version which is more rare. I looked it up and discovered it is actually pretty similar to amber in color. Usually a bit more orange or brown. Amber can be that deep orange too though of course.
ReplyDeleteAll 3 of these are citrine... and all look amber in color I agree! XD
I love the Citrine Geode or cathedral!
Agreed!
ReplyDeleteWow read all the comments. What can I say but AWESOME, EPIC, and I couldn't be happier if I tried.
ReplyDeleteAwesome episode, It definitively is the best place beside watch from the start to jump into Fringe, as it introduces the world of Fringe very well, though Lincoln, and although long term fan might want to see more of other side limiting the characters to ones mainly on this side really pay off in this regard.
ReplyDeleteFor long term find it as enough bit of info to start answer some of the questions regard the loss of Peter and how it going to effect the series.
Freak of week, was a great way to explore the new fringe universe, set up the main story arc of season 4, and also the freak of week was very well tie to o this season overall story arc
Awesome. I thought they leaned a little heavy on the 'missing someone' though. But I guess it's needed if Peter's coming back in a couple of episodes.
ReplyDeleteThis show is awesome and knows how to renew it self. Most other shows goes down hill after the first 2 or 3 seasons. Fringe just keeps getting better.
ReplyDeleteSure, I missed Peter aswell, but there was so much other stuff going on, that I almost forgot. I really like them bringing Lincoln Lee in this way. I always liked him on the other side and I love that they changed his character, so he wasn´t the same bad ass as "over there". Its gonna be fun to see Olivia and Lincoln working together.
God, I have missed Walter! So good to see him again!
Even the characters miss him. They just don`t know it`s him.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, I felt the same way. Guess I should avoid the spoilers from now on.
ReplyDeleteThe world seems to be different, Olivia is different, Walter too...
ReplyDeleteMissing Peter! It was a strange feeling to watch at this slightly different version of Fringe...
ReplyDeleteIt was like watching a new show, i guess it helps for the ratings and i actually really like it.
ReplyDeleteI was really happy that I stayed away from the spoilers this go around.
ReplyDeletedid anyone else notice a picture from the ASSASSIN'S CREED:BROTHERHOOD
ReplyDeletegame on Walter's computer screen(it's the scene where there is a body
found in a car)??this pic appeared(on the game) during one of the
Clusters(don't remember which one).does anyone know the lable of the
pic?
Also the FRINGE images make the word ''APPEAR''
Poor poor Astrid, she finally gets out of the lab and she has to check out people's anuses... That was perfect! =D
ReplyDeleteThey should've had Alt-Olivia come in, then notice OurLincoln and just smirk and take a picture of him. Then Lincoln would've asked what was this for and Alt-Olivia would've answered I need to show this to somebody (like to tease Alt-Lincoln with his nerdylookin alternate version) :D
ReplyDeleteI loved the idea of new shapeshifters and how it was similar to season 2 premiere, the episode which made me fall in love with Fringe permanently. I've always loved the shapeshifters and am happy that seemingly their story isnt over yet.
ReplyDeleteBut knowing Fringe writers, it would be too easy to have Walternate be behind all this again.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, the bastard did start a fire with his hand so maybe they have like supernatural type of abilities added. But the one Lincoln killed died from bullets in the chest, with the last ones it was a headshot or nothing.
Oh well, I'm pretty sure we will see and learn about these shifters more and find out whats up with them.
Thanks :D. I wish we see more of it! I want computer Peterference, like he typing in the keyboard. It's old school and cheesy, but I'd love it.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the premiere and am especially interested to see how things are different because Peter was not around.
ReplyDeleteI thought the Observers were really intriguing. I'm hoping to get more background into them as they are the biggest mystery to me.
ReplyDeleteI am puzzled about the Observers and their game plan too. Sometimes they seem benevolent and other times shady. How do they know what the best course in history is and what is the end result of that history? Of all the things I question in Fringe, the Observers cause me the most concern.
ReplyDeleteI agree.
ReplyDeleteTook me a bit to get around to watching. Need brain cells and they were a little burned out from the week.
ReplyDeleteI liked it.
I'm giving the ep...a "great"
I agree about the MOTW thing, though by the end they'd managed to convince me that this was more of an episode which had a view to furthering a story arc, because of the new shapeshifter's apparent connection to Walter.
ReplyDeleteYeah, something tells me that'll be a big storyline played out over the course of the series...
ReplyDeleteI agree with this. Too much "I need Peter right now and everything back to normal!" Where's the fun in that?
ReplyDeleteDidn't you hear him at the end call the lab guy the wrong name? The tradition continues...
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's because in this new yellow universe they no longer have their special Sprint phones with face-to-face talking capability and THAT is the huge hole that makes their entire world feel a little more empty.
ReplyDelete:P
Orrrr Robert Jones-Alternate? :D
ReplyDeleteIt's funny because going through season 1's old promo posters, that WAS the show's motto: (at least variants of that phrase)
ReplyDeletehttp://www.spoilertv.co.uk/images/fringe/season-1/cast-promotional-photos/fringe-promo-poster-13.jpg.php
ReplyDeleteNot bad. Even though I wasn't really thrilled with the case of the week, Walter was awesome, the Observer b-story was good, and the Olivia / Fauxlivia scenes were great. I can't get over what a shrew Fauxlivia is now.
ReplyDeleteLol, Fringe knows itself pretty well.
ReplyDeletei agree with you!!! i was a bit disappointed... every season so far has started with a very good episode and i feel like this one really does not live up to the expectations built by last season's finale.
ReplyDeletethe olivia-altlivia scenes were the best thing of the episode!!!!
ReplyDeletei don't like this version of lincoln lee either. i find him unappealing.
ReplyDeletei don't think it's a matter of avoiding spoilers. i always read/see them and although it's true that sometimes i end up wishing i hadn't read/seen that many, i'm still able to thoroughly enjoy the episode. the season premiere was just not good enough, imo.
