Hey Guys,

As part of the catchup, we have a second poll now up and running here! However if you wish to vote in the other poll which sees Dexter Morgan (Dexter) vs. Dana Scully (The X-Files) & The Doctor (Doctor Who) then head HERE

In this poll we have Barney Stinson of sitcom How I Met Your Mother challenging the ever popular supporting character from Buffy, Spike! Also today we have a tough matchup with Seeley Booth of procedural Bones challenging Olivia Dunham of mystery drama Fringe. Two tough polls, four strong characters; good luck in voting!

Currently leading the prediction competition is Todd German, holding on to the top spot he has occupied for the past few days. He is also joined by three other competitors on 24 points, including the winner of the show competition, Sergey! To see your score head HERE

For anyone new to the competition the rules are simple. Every day there will be a new set of polls between characters who are bidding to become the winner of the second STV Character Competition.

All you have to do is to vote for whichever characters are your favourite and at the end of the 24 hours whichever character has more votes will be the winner and will progress into the next round. There are three rounds before the quarter finals, semi finals and then the final...

Don't forget to tweet, facebook, google+ and spread the word about the characters and shows you love to try and boost your chances of winning.

    Really tough choices. My bracket has Barney, but I went with Spike. Otherwise, Booth is great, but I went with Olivia.

    This day may be the hardest of all.  These are four characters I like overall but each of them has something I don't like about them too.  Barney is still the best thing about How I Met Your Mother but his character has been uneven over the years and the whole show has gotten tired around the edges.  A vote for him would really be a vote for Neil Patrick Harris, who is without a doubt amazing.  Spike was my absolute no question about it favorite villain.  He was snarky and fun and bloodchilling.  And then they chipped him and turned him into a whining, annoying puppy dog with a crush.  Booth is a hero through and through.  He's loyal, steadfast, and an absolute rock for the people around him.  He has my respect more than any other character here.  However, what seems like 564 years of back and forth between him and Brennan have worn me out and I no longer care about who he loves or why.  I really like Fringe, but Olivia is my least favorite character of the main group.  Season 3 had a great story line but it felt like every single episode characters had to stop what they were doing to give poor Olivia a self-esteem boost and remind her that she really was super special and smart and brave and....  Don't get me wrong, Olivia went through more than any other character this last season, but hearing every single character tell her that she was smart enough and pretty enough and gosh darn people liked her got old pretty fast.

    After much, much wavering, my votes go to Barney and Booth.  However my bracket says the exact opposite and will be undeniably shot if Olivia doesn't make it to the finals.

    I mostly agree with you, except in the points refering Olivia. I can say she is my favorite thing in Fringe (as much as I adore every single second of that show), but not for her being super special and smart and brave, but for never giving up trying.

    Her perseverance is her best quality.  I like that about her too.  I just wish that the show didn't try so hard to tell the audience that Olivia is super important and very special.  We get that on our own.
