Hey Guys,
The last couple of days polls have seen some surprising results, some nail-biters and some crackers but the end results have found Dana Scully, The Doctor, Barney Stinson & Olivia Dunham find their way into round two. Worthy of note is Barney Stinson's win over Spike from Buffy, a result that was separated by the merest of votes...
Today marks the final day of a stuttering round one thanks to my crazy busy week, but from here on in I hope that the competition can pick up speed and see some surprises and corkers. Before that, we finish round one with Chuck Bass of Gossip Girl taking on Abby Sciuto of NCIS as well as Veronica Mars challenging Walter Bishop for the final place in round two.
Currently leading the prediction competition is old friend Sergey Sevostianov, the winner of the show competition with a score of 28. Worringly for Sergey though is his choice at seeing Malcolm Reynolds making the semi finals which could cost him in the later stages. Long time leader Todd German is worth keeping an eye on also, in second place one point behind Sergey. To see your score head HERE
For anyone new to the competition the rules are simple. Every day there will be a new set of polls between characters who are bidding to become the winner of the second STV Character Competition.
All you have to do is to vote for whichever characters are your favourite and at the end of the 24 hours whichever character has more votes will be the winner and will progress into the next round. There are three rounds before the quarter finals, semi finals and then the final...

ReplyDeleteNever watched an episode of Gossip Girl but had to vote foe something called Chuck Bass over Abby since she was the reason I quit watching NCIS for the most part.
ReplyDeleteWalter vs Veronica is so tough! I've been dreading this day.. kinda... I think in the grand scheme of things Veronica Mars may have been a better character with a bigger impact on TV, but Walter is just so fun.
Ok I've settled it with a little help from a friend. In this universe I'm voting for Walter, but in the Red Universe I voted for Veronica Mars since in that universe the show was not on a third rate network and ended up running for 14 seasons.
I like your added line on your name there. Know what you mean. And I'm hoping it's for Fringe :)

ReplyDeleteI love an easy poll and Abby Sciuto versus almost anyone in this contest is a no-brainer for me. Abby is the heart and soul of NCIS. In fact, for me, I would never have watched NCIS if Abby weren't on it. It was through Abby that I learned to love the other characters because her relationship with them fleshed them out. Although I know that NCIS is not a very popular show on SpoilerTV, I'm still hoping beyond hope that Abby will make it through to the next round where she will undoubtedly be beaten by Walter Bishop.
The second poll is difficult for me (and excruciating for Wilson). Both characters are wonderful and iconic. Veronica Mars is a junior Dana Scully for me and I mean that is the best possible way. She in tenacious and determined to find the truth. She has guts and she makes a name for herself in a male-dominated career - and Veronica is still in high school when she does it. Plus, I'm a huge fan of snark and Veronica has that in spades.
However, she goes against Walter Bishop in this round and he is one of my two favorite characters in Fringe. Without the Peter and Walter relationship and its ever changing nature, I probably wouldn't be watching Fringe now. Walter's character is more complex than Veronica's to me. I love how sometimes he is childlike but in other times he is the ruthless scientist. His attempt to make up for the harm he caused years ago makes for engaging TV and the continued moral dilemmas he faces are always more interesting because unlike the other characters, you can never be quite sure what Walter is going to do. In the end, my vote goes to Walter but it is not without pain because Veronica Mars surely deserves to go beyond round 1 in this contest.
Abby and Veronica, I love Walter too but I love Veronica more!!

ReplyDeleteIn the first pool I voted Chuck, although he has losing his charm. The second was very tough to me because I really really really love Veronica, but Walter Bishop is one of the most interesting and deep and brilliant characters that I've ever seen. So.. Walter Bishop it is.

ReplyDeleteFirst one was easy: Chuck Bass makes the nearly unwatchable Gossip Girl interesting, 'morality pet' Abby makes NCIS utterly unwatchable. The second was impossible! I had to go with Walter but it was difficult.
