Thanks to Rita for the heads up.

Listen, "Vampire Diaries" fans, we hear you. And in case you're wondering, you sound like an endless loop of a few million people crying out, "MORE DELENA NEWS PLEASE!"

So when Zap2it spoke with Ian Somerhalder on Tuesday, we grilled him on all things Damon and Elena (Nina Dobrev). As we know, Season 3 begins with Elena's 18th birthday party, an impressive soiree that Caroline plans -- of course -- at the Salvatore house.

We're sure Elena will get plenty of birthday presents, since she's clearly the most beloved person in Mystic Falls, ever, but with Stefan missing in action, the gift we're wondering about the most is Damon's.

Somerhalder tells us that the present is rather unconventional. "She refuses to let him buy her anything, so he doesn't technically give her anything for her birthday," he says. "But he came across something that she really, really, really wanted and needed, and he did what he had to do to get it for her. She thinks that he stole it, or that he found it. It's a very beautiful moment between them. It's a really sweet, quiet moment."

The gift will definitely remind us of Stefan's absence, but we'll say this about the scene: it's practically tailor-made to be plastered all over your tumblrs, Damon/Elena fans.

    probably XD but for the people who doesn't care anything about Damon and DE (as me :P) it's so annoying XD I mean, I want also Klaus and Stefan spoilers :) there're not only D in the show :)

    I did think we got some good spoilers in the interview with Paul Wesley posted earlier. (You know, with the interviews with Michael, Katherine and Nina as well). That interview gave me hope that the storyline following Stefan (and Klaus) is going to get all the attention and full development it deserves.

    I was actually thinking a daylight necklace just in case she bites the bullet. But I'm getting distracted by that picture from a few days ago where Damon is helping her put a necklace on. That could be her own necklace that he is simply helping her with.

    Agreed. I mean, it's not like I don't care about them at all, but there's definitely WAY more (and way more interesting stuff, as well) than Delena to TVD. Well Well. But I'm sure we'll get other spoilers as well within the next weeks ^^

    The season hasn't even started yet and I'm already making a fist every time I read the (made-up) word "Delena."

    I'm over it.  The exuberance surrounding this has become too much for me.  It has gotten to the point where I'm interested in every aspect of this show EXCEPT those two.

    Come on everyone settle down. Obviously Damon and Elena are not the only 2 in the show.  There have been a lot of spoilers about other characters. If you want those spoilers than ASK for them like the Delena people do.  It's not different than any other show. yes people have their faves...but seriously stop over acting.  Some people like Damon and Elena best...sometimes people watch certain shows for certain characters/actors and don't give a crap about the others.  i for one watch bc TVD rocks and i like  mostly all of the characters...I also like Damon and don't mind the spoilers.  Is there a reason why everyone ALWAYS has to get so darn worked up about spoilers and couples??  Who cares, atleast we get spoilers.  I've been a fan of tv shows so darn long before online stuff was around to get spoilers from that I'm happy with what we get.  Stop complaining people and enjoy this great show.

    Jeez.. Relax people.. A lot of the spoilers is about Elena and Damon, but how their relationship progresses IS the most anticipated. But not EVERY spoiler is. This one in paticular is, but they got a hold on Ian Somerhalder. What else was they supposed to ask about?
    And they did, for once, get new information. Which I think is most important.

    No, I just meant that accidents happen and she does live in a very dangerous world. As a human she's fragile. No offence about the bullets. :P

    I don't think Elena will turn, if she turns at all, until they are ready to end the show. She certainly doesn't want to, and I'm not sure getting Stefan back is going to change that.

    You don't have to want to turn to become a vampire. As you said: It's a dangerous world. And she is only human.

    Elena didn't want to become a vampire in the books either. Bud she dies and turns.

    In the books she turns to vampire and dies and comes back and becomes whatever between human and angel she is…

    Maybe we get to see that in the show too.



    I didn't mean that she suddenly wants to become a vampire, because Stefan is back. I just meant, that IF she changes (if she wants it or not), it won't happen, until he is back. Maybe at the end of this season, maybe next season. Maybe never.
