EW reports that George Lopez's late night talk show has been cancelled. The final episode will air tonight, from 12:00am to 01:00am. TBS has chosen not to renew his show for a 3rd season. His ratings are the reason why he's taken off the air : Lopez Tonight has an average of only 543 000 viewers each night while Conan has more than a million viewers an hour earlier.
Thankfully, Conan O'Brien will remain on TBS until the end of his multi-year deal, in mid-2013. Meanwhile, it is likely that David Letterman will retire in 2013, for the 20th anniversary of his Late Show on CBS. CBS will want a big shot to replace him, and Craig Ferguson's humor doesn't really belong in the 11:30pm timeslot. You connect the dots...

That's too bad :(
ReplyDeletepoor george lopez :((
ReplyDeleteHe will be fine. He voices characters in every single animated movie it seems.
ReplyDeleteNot upset as I don't find him funny, hopefully it'll bring more viewers to CoCo.
ReplyDeleteMost people saw this coming when Lopez gave up the 11pm slot so Conan could come to TBS.
ReplyDeleteI was super shocked by this i thought he was doing well.
