As we know, SpoilerTV readers are the most knowledgeable on the Internet which is why, a couple of days ago, we asked you to predict which shows would be renewed/cancelled or pulled early.

Well we've collated the results which I present to you below. There are a few surprises (well at least for me along the way)

Results Highlights
- 26 out of the Top 30 shows predicted to be cancelled were NEW Shows
- Only 10 NEW Shows were precicted to be renewed
- 2 Long running hit shows were predicted to be cancelled this season
- The CW came out with the highest Average score of shows getting renewed
- ABC came out with the highest Average score of shows getting cancelled
- No Show was predicted to be pulled early before the first season was completed
- Work IT (ABC) is the show most predicted to get cancelled
- Castle (ABC) is the show most predicted to get renewed
- All 3 CSI shows are predicted to be renewed
- The only CW show predicted to be cancelled is 90210

Results in Detail

Lets look at some of these results in detail.

Below is the chart showing each show and it's predicted fate. We will keep this chart updated as shows are renewed/cancelled to see how accurate your predictions were.

The chart below sorts all show based on their predicted likelihood of getting cancelled. The higher a shows Cancellation Rating, the more likely SpoilerTV readers think it will get Cancelled. The lower the number, the more likely you think it will be renewed. Shows in Yellow were predicted to be cancelled.

Network Charts
Here is the above chart but for each Network

Any of the results surprise you?

For me it was the prediction that both House and Two and Half Men would be cancelled along with only 92010 from The CW being cancelled.

During the 2011/12 Season we'll be updating the spreadsheet to see how well we all did in our predictions.

Sound off in the comments.

  1. Thanks for pulling this together. Pretty interesting stuff. I can't believe that House or Two and Half Men will get cancelled. They surely make FOX and CBS too much money, but I guess we'll find out in about 6 months :)

  2. Castle is the number 1 - most likely to be renewed ! HELL YEAH !!

  3. Shut the front door! Totally deserved I think.

  4. I think that they are predicting Two and Half Men to get axed, because there is no Sheen. And Kutcher might not be the best option for it. When it goes to House, FOX said it's gonna be the final season...and I think that because Lisa Edelstein won't be on the show anymore is another reason to cancel the show.

  5. Where did you get the information for this? because it seems awfully one sided... But I agree with many of these, except there are a few shows that I am positive will be their last year, even though I REALLY don't want them to be...

  6. All the information is from our readers in the recent polls we ran

  7. No way this will be near accurate when it's over. XD
Almost every new series is cancelled or on the block and none pulled early? Wow. Of course a handful of new shows will be renewed and a couple will be break out "hits" for their network. Every year it happens.

I think it's interesting how few veteran series are likely to be cancelled. I would be willing to bet a couple sophomore or junior series will get the boot and a few that have been around longer too.

Ironically I'm not sold on Two and A Half Men going down this year. My guess is Lorre wil lfight like hell to keep it going this year and if there's no improvement he will let it go next year. But damned if Charlie will have the last word by 2.5Men being cancelled the year he leaves!

  8. Thanks for putting all this together!

I will be looking at this and wondering many questions for 2 months now! XD

  9. Are you saying that you think it's likely Fringe will be renewed for a 5th season or is this reffering to the already renewed 4th season.

    ReplyDelete
  10. wow! I'll be surprised if this happens! XD well, some shows have a well deserve "Renewed" (such as Castle! :D) but it would be strange to cancel all that amount of new shows... I suppose some of them will be renewed... :/ and I also think one of CSI's (let's hope NY's) will be cancelled, and Gossip Girl too!

  11. These are predictions from polls they did on here.  The fans are predicting that Fringe will be renewed for a 5th season.

  12. What I can't believe is that users voted that none of the new shows will be pulled early(I suppose many didn't know what "pulled early" meant) cause usually new shows aren't so much canceled after one season as pulled after a few episodes.Actually,I don't remember, was any new show(2010-2011) canceled and not pulled early?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Kinda surprise but everyone always thinks or hope the Favorite TV shows will renewed and new one, most people don't know enough about yet.

  14. As much as I hate to say it, I think people are predicting with their hearts and not their heads with Fringe.

  16. The poll was kind of poorly set up. A lot of people likely voted for "cancelled" when they really thought "pulled early." So saying that no new show was gonna be pulled early is kind of distorted, IMO. If the poll had clearly stated that cancelled meant "cancelled only after an entire season is completed," I think many shows would've been voted to be "pulled early."

But I do find it interesting that Castle was found to be the least likely show to be cancelled of all networks. For ABC, I get. But for all? Surprising. But good. Castle's a good show and the closest thing ABC has to a scripted drama hit right now.

  17. Awesome! I can't wait to see how this works out.

    ReplyDelete
  18. That was my thinking when I predicted both of these would be cancelled at the end of the season. Cast changes at this point are like a wake-up call to viewers that their show has become old and tired.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I must be pretty average for a SpoilerTV fan because there really weren't many places I disagreed with the "well-qualified"-masses.
Not entirely sure that House will get cancelled after the upcoming season. My guess is that it will suffer in the ratings this new season due to Edelsteins departure and either get a short season in 2012/2013 if the ratings don't recover, or Edelstein wont leave as big a gap as we all fear and the show will get a full pick up for next year.

  20. The problem with polls is that inevitably people do not read the directions.  I found it very clear what the difference between the two were.

    ReplyDelete
  21. This is definitely the case of viewers voting what they want to happen instead of what is likely to happen. I love that people are so optimistic about their favorite shows.

    ReplyDelete
  22. @twitter-117556295:disqus I thought it was very obvious how to vote.

    ReplyDelete
  23.  well, it has been pretty much said by the showrunners that this would be the final season of house.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I'd hope that this would be presented in stats format! I'm excited to see how well we've predicted what happens this year

  25. I didn't vote for any pulled early, because even though I know some things will be pulled early I never have a feel for what will fail so badly out the door that it will get yanked. My guess is Charlie's Angels will tank, but did they spend so much money that they will move it to Saturday and let the episodes already shot play out.  I also counted canceled as not getting a back 9 order.  I have no feel for what the public likes, or what ratings will be high enough for what days or how certain shows will do against their competition.  I also don't know what shows are waiting in the wings.  Since all that figures into what is pulled early, I just left that option off.  Perhaps others did as well.

  26. How about Cables shows, The Glades?

    ReplyDelete
  27. I tried my honest best not to do that. My thinking was mostly that older shows will go because people do get tired of watching the same show for years. I also expect some viewer exhaustion for overdone genres--monsters and crime procedurals. So one of the CSI's will go, and some of the new "monster" themed shows will not make it. I'm not optimistic about all my favorite shows, but The Good Wife is loved by critics as well as me. I like Castle though I don't get to watch it much, but it's unique and not too old. It'll last a while.

  28. This turned out to be really interesting.  I wonder just how far off are votes are?

    ReplyDelete
  29. I'm pretty sure that some shows will not make it through the first season... (e.g. Charlie's Angels?). Curious to see that not a single poll resulted in the "pulled early" column. As for the CW, personally I think that 90210 might get another season, where Gossip Girl will get canceled, that show really has lost its focus, where last season 90210 was definitely an improvement considering its first and second season.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Yeah! Go Castle! Best. Show. Ever. It's gonna last a LONG time ;)

    ReplyDelete
  31. I'd be willing to bet everything I own that Work It gets canceled.  In the proud tradition of Cavemen and Emeril, it will fail miserably and be the subject of ridicule for critics and viewers alike.  On the bright side, it will free up Rebecca Mader to find work that's not embarrassing or soul crushing.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I really hope that CSI: NY will get the renewal. I have heard that so far they're only renewed for 18 episodes! Need more!

    ReplyDelete
  33. "My guess is Lorre will fight like hell to keep it going this year and if

    leaves!"

Could be. I actually voted cancelled, though I think it'll get a full season. But you might be right.

  34. From what I recall of the various polls, it's not that there weren't anyone voting that a show would get pulled early, but more people voted Cancelled (or renewed). I didn't vote Pulled Early on any of the CW shows, 'cos from what (admittedly not that extensive) experience I've got they don't pull shows early. But I did pick a few from the other networks. Mine just wasn't the popular opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Yes, unfortunately, I only heard that after making my argument in House's favour. :(
And if he leaves, I agree with you, that House cannot survive without Laurie.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Same here. There are quite a few shows I'm ready to bury, but I don't think the networks are ready to listen to me.
For example, I don't think the CW will do as big a changeover as I think it needs - like cancelling both GG and 90210. My guess is they'll only kill 90210.
3 CSI shows are 2 too many in my opinion, but I don't see more than one getting axed tops.
Finally, while there are some good offerings in the new shows category, there aren't that many I could see getting a second season, if they even get a full first season. I wasn't really that surprised that our collective votes only let 10 new shows survive. However, someone made the argument further up the thread that the networks will most likely let more than 10 new shows survive (which in turn will mean more dead old shows), and I do think that argument is sound.

  37.  i really think that the CW has a great new lineup! i realize until we see the ne show we won't know but USA TNT & CW are favs for me hands down!

  39. I don't think 2 Broke Girls will be cancelled.
