Ever watched it? I never even heard of it until this year. Well worth checking out! It is part Irish (via Newfoundland, Canada) family dysfunction and part Rockford Files or some 70s or 80s Detective series. A lot of humor and fun that mostly results in Jake Doyle ending up being hit by someone or something... and then his dad Malachy Doyle making fun of his son. There is no serial component to speak of but each week brings a case that ends up getting Jake in trouble and leads to a lot of humor and light action.
It's not the typical series I would recommend with high quality production and top notch acting etc... but it's very, VERY fun. That makes up for a lot. I recommend it to pretty much anyone that asks... or often does not ask. XD
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Republic of Doyle seems like a show Russel would love! Ha!
ReplyDeleteI'll be looking forward to this, but then again I look forward to every Doyle episode. Such a fun series!
