Hi, it's me again. Since I couldn't find anything original or legendary to say about How I Met Your Mother to introduce today's poll, I'm going to tell you what I did today (that's the 32nd poll, I feel like we know each other enough for me to open my heart to you, or my diary in this case) :
Kids, today I got up at 10:00am. I yawned, twice (that's not code, I actually yawned). I drank some orange juice, and then a hot chocolate with 2 slices of buttered baguette (that's not code either). I watched the new episode of The Big C (simply brilliant, as always, why the hell is Showtime waiting this long to renew it ?). I went and purchase the civil code : not exactly the most exciting summer read, but I felt I wouldn't hurt to start reading it before my first year in law school starts in September. When I got back around 12:30pm, it was time to eat. In entrée we had some muskmelon, the main course was a fillet of sole with some browned bell peppers and then lemon sorbet in dessert. During the afternoon I played badminton with my cousins and then we went to the beach. I swam for a long time. The water was nice, although a little bit cold at first (as always in Brittany though, but you get used to it). We managed to get there at high tide, so it was pretty cool. When we came back we played footb... soccer a little bit and then I watched 2 episodes of Action : a sarcastic, dry-humored show with a lovable asshole as the anti-hero (Jay Mohr is perfect in that role), I love it, much bolder than Entourage's depiction of Hollywood (it makes sense since the main character is a movie producer) and yet it aired on a big network (FOX). Anyway, at supper time, there was salad with some tomatoes and langoustines, plus a nectarine in dessert. Afterwards, I read the newspapers (DSK's coming back, I wonder if people are still going to trust him as a major socialist player after all the fuss), I fed Leila (my dog), I watched The Late Late Show (Ferguson may say he's making the crappiest show on TV but deep down I'm sure he knows his show is awesome) while sipping a nice cold ice-tea. I just finished watching Super, it's not as cool as Kick-Ass but it's definitely worth watching though. And now here I am, writing this probe I'm sure everyone read passionately.

Season 2 is my favorite, most episodes were absolutely hilarious so I voted for this season in the poll but I really love season 3, too. I know most people would say that seasons 1 and 2 are above the following seasons (well maybe I'm making a mistake here and everyone agrees with me on season 3, I guess that's what this poll is for) but seasons 2 and 3 were both hugely satisfying to me. I was not completely hooked by the show by the end of the first season (which was still quite good though, but nothing compared to the following season).
ReplyDeleteThe show started to decline at season 4. This season had its moments though : the first 6-7 episodes (when Stella was around) were as good as season 3, the Naked Man episode was pretty awesome and since I quite liked the Robin/Barney relationship back then, I though the few episodes dealing with Barney's will be with her were all truly great (i think episode 4.12 was one of them). But still, a disappointing season overall. Season 5 was catastrophic, on every level. I've never been a fan of Lily and Marshall but especially in this season I wanted to tear their guts apart, they're so annoying. Season 6 was slightly better than the previous one, I enjoyed some of Barney's storylines (with his father, with Nora). I'm not really convinced by the cliffhanger,
If I ranked them all, I guess I would be something like that : season 2 > 3 > 1 > 4 > 6 > 5.
Definitely season four. I just love everything about it!

ReplyDeleteSeason 2 is probably my favorite, Season 3 was definitely a great one too. There may have been some not so great episodes during Season 6, but they also had the most sad and heartfelt episodes (Bad News, Last Words). So those are probably my top 3 seasons.

ReplyDeleteIt's the Ted and Robin season, it has the best Marshall and Lilly stories and the clincher being that almost every single one of the episodes are great, plus having probably the best finale makes this even easier.
Loved season 6, some really funny episode, great character development also, really love season 2,1 as well
ReplyDeleteI think much of what I love about the series is in Season One. As a series overall it matured and improved in Season 2 and 3, but I like Season One most for the classic Barney-isms.
ReplyDeleteI don't really have a favorite season so I won't vote in this poll. The closest I can come is to say that I'll take any of the first four seasons over the last two any day.
