Jinx was a little 3rd wheel imo. I have a feeling thought I think they might be putting Jinx out there as a 'corrupted agent dude' who isnt really corrupt hoping the bad guys try to recruit him. They have explored the heck outta Mykas family, so I guess Pete's was due a turn.
i actually really, really loved this episode. I loved the interactions that "jane" and myka had. I had suspicion jane was one of their mothers, I just wasn't expecting it to be revealed in this epi. I don't know if i think Jinx is actually gone, but if he is that is really, really okay with me. I really liked him, but there is so little show that I think adding another regular character takes away from the core group . . . and klutzy_girl i am so with you, definitely shipping pete/myka. so sweet.
I am so sad that Jinx was fired. I am hoping he will be back. My mouth fell to the floor when Pete said Hello Mother. Wow didn't see that coming at all.
At the bottom of the elevator shaft, i thought.. okay there's no way we get to find out in this episode who Jane is related to.. I figured she'd disappear in the chaos after the saving.. but wow, awesome job! I got a tingly she was related to Pete when she was discussing the WH in the stair well and basically said it saved her life (we know pete's mom fell into a depression after his fathers death)
Okay.. after tonights episode I think i could buy into a relationship b/t Pete & Myka... it was so sweet, his reactions.. her talking about him a lot while with Jane. I'm sad Jinks is gone from the WH. Him & Claudia were so good.. but i don't think he's gone from the show.. he's still a pawn to the big bad. Maybe he'll have redemption. I'm not liking the suggestions that the WH has a bad side.. although one artifact can corrupt.. and they have a WH full..
Until that last word, the episode was really good, but that just hit it out of the park for me! I'd completely forgotten the spoiler tid-bits dropped earlier about Katherine's character (she'll _always_ be Capt. Janeway to me), so fantastic. I'm now hooked into the "who are the Regents" arc, which I should've guessed I would be: yet again these writers (and actors!) blow me away.
thats crazy! i had the same thought at the same time. I had just told my husband (who is the one who got me into the show, becomes normally I am not a sci-fi person, only others sci-fi shows i ever watched were (are) Fringe and, ironically, Star Trek Voyager), and I said, i think she is probably either myka or pete's, or god forbid both, mom. At the moment at the bottom of the stairwell my husband asked when they would reveal the big secret we had heard about, and I said, oh i doubt it will be tonight . . . and then BAM! such a great way to end the show! :) and good catch, i didn't even think about the correlation to what she said about the warehouse and pete's father's death.
Great minds, eh?! the only Star Trek i really watched was Voyager! I love Kate Mulgrew. I enjoyed Enterprise but it's gone. It's amazing how they dropped clues through out.. thinking about it now, when Jane knew to use the fire hoses to climb down the shaft & credited her husband: Pete's father was a fireman! Myka's funny ass line about who was your husband, die hard?! was a good red herring, i immediately started wondering why her husband would have military training..
OMG!! i totally did not even think about those things!! Now I will have to go back and watch again just to pick up on those things! Obviously, most of the way through I thought her connection was with Myka, but then, again, at the bottom of the elevator shaft they were talking about Pete and Jane said something about Pete being a great partner, the look in her eyes told me it was more of a connection with Pete.
you remember the episode with Artie & MacPherson where they showed MacP using the Phoenix to save his love from a fire? What if that was the fire Pete's dad died in? yucky.. i'm getting the sinking feeling the bad guy in the wheelchair is going to be his dad somehow..
Ok, hilarious we are having a whole convo on here :) that said, good point! they said the finale would be jaw dropping, and for it to be his dad would be ABSOLUTELY jaw dropping for me. Perhaps an artifact caused his death/injury (which by the pics and the promo for the next epi, I am guessing is the case anyway) and he blames the warehouse/jane for what happened.
I really really enjoyed this episode. The one thing I was sorry about was why they didn't touch on how Jinks could never spot that woman lying. Sad to see him leave the warehouse crew. Though he was a great addition but I'm thinking we'll be seeing him on the show again. Though I don't really believe he'd ever endanger Claudia. I found myself wondering what the other agents would have done if they'd been in Jinks' place. I think Pete and Myka would have protested but they would have bowed to what needed to be done; especially with one of their own's life on the line. Arte...IIRC he's been in that position before and stepped across the line (correct me if I"m wrong.) I think being a part of something like that might have destroyed Claudia.
Loved Jane. (loved that her character was named Jane!) They gave us a ton of little hints but I was still flabbergasted at the reveal. And they stopped there?!?!?! :-D
I was completely engaged in the ep. Still distracted by Myka's hair. I do not like it. Really enjoyed the whole crew working on the same problem.
I think Anthony Micheal Hall is the wheelchair guy, so unless they put some aging makeup on him, he's about the same age as Pete, maybe 5 or so years older so I doubt the wheelchair guy is gonna be Pete's dad.
its possible, i guess, though i don't really see anthony michael hall, but i will have to go back and really pay attention. . . i think he looks quite a bit older than eddie naturally anyway, and it is wh13 anywho . . . he could have been cryogenically kept or something :) anywho, its just a theory. and i had also read an interview where eddie says something to the effect of admiring this person growing up or it was one of his heroes growing up, so that sounds a bit older to me. I am trying to find that interview.
I agree on thinking Claudia would not have like the torture, we just saw her nightmare of electro shock therapy, there's no way she could have stomached that. I felt awful that she had to see the guy spray paint corrode himself to death. i forget how young and fragile she can be..
hahahah I like the idea of AMH as a baddie! lmao. he would def. need to be aged though. I doubt it's Pete's dad. he was too important in making Pete the solid guy he is I think to tarnish that..
well, if this picture is any indication, i don't think jinx is gone, i have not seen Myka in this outfit, and certainly have not seen HG in that outfit.
no prob, plus i saw another clip in last season's DVD, i think thats where i saw it, on an extra where joanne, aaron (jinx), allison i think, and the guy who plays Marcus are all sitting in their director's chairs together, and I don't think Aaron has had a scene with Marcus yet, that I can recall. i will have to look for it again.

Great episode.
ReplyDeleteAnd I definitely ship Pete/Myka.
You stole my comment Ha! Really is Jinx gone?

Please. Please don't say it. Please don't turn Pete and Myka into a couple. I beg. I plead. They are absolutely awesome as a team.
ReplyDeleteI think Anthony Micheal Hall is the wheelchair guy, so unless they put some aging makeup on him, he's about the same age as Pete, maybe 5 or so years older so I doubt the wheelchair guy is gonna be Pete's dad.

ReplyDeleteLooks like AMH may be our big bad afterall.. officially credited this week on Syfy website as a guest star in next weeks episode!
ReplyDeleteI knew I recognized that voice and the back of his head.
