Jason rescuing Jessica was easy ot predict, but still made for some funny and needed Jayssica liplocking time.. Jason's stupidity never fails to amaze me and amuse me! "Think of hot summer days... barbecue.. " Um wait... not so much Jason. XD
Poor Jessica. Being woken up from a dream where her literal and figurative chains are gone and Jason riding his white car to the rescue.... only to have a donor introduce herself and get all shy. Buzzkill! Is it just me or can Alexander as Eric can make even open neck wounds look good. And I can't blame Sookie too much for the messy blood sex. I mean first he penetrated her with his teeth... and well, then her mind wandered. It's getting to that time Eric returns to his old self though.... amnesiac Eric is bordering on tiresome. Although bloodcrazed killer Eric is a lot of fun!Andy is on screen again... bored now. Snack break.King Bill's back to his cool and collected self doing damage control. Compartmentalization certainly can pay off. Love BIll grabbing the pathetic witch and just rolling his eyes and letting her go! XDStill not liking this possessed baby and all these ghosts floatin around.Tommy as Maxine is barely a noticeable change. Going from ugly uptight Christian to ugly uncouth hillbilly... it's a push. Well, other than Tommy's obvious lack of hair and make-up ability.Loving Sookie warrior princess vibe. Willing to fight and die for the cause.Does any one else think of Kelly from The Bad News Bears every time pack leader Marcus steps on screen? Just feels liek an odd Alpha choice to me, but I do like his wisdom the last few episodes. Except when it comes to Luna I guess..... she makes him looney. On a serious note, I think I figured out part of why the Sookie/Eric sex scenes are not as hot as Sookie/Bill. Putting aside true feelings between Bill and Sookie.... they have been shot differently. With Bill and Sookie we got up close and personal and the camera was right there. With Eric and Sookie they seem to film from a distance and it shouldn't shock that it keeps the audience at a distance too. Toss in the different score music and yeah... not as hot.Bonus points to Alan Ball for tossing in some Siouxsie And The Banshees!
Someone needs to teach Lafayette how to shut that dang door! So, now we know more about the Creole ghost. (Do I have that right?) But that woman still freaks me out. Really. Question for y'all...did you get the sense that the father of her child was part of the Bellefleur clan?
Sookie: Now you can both look at me and allow me to speak for myself.
And while I love that Sookie made her own decision and took a stand about going to battle with the vampires....she really did NOT listen to her Grandmother did she. Then again....Eric with memories returned may not be the same jerk he was after (ack! blanking on the name) the ghost using Marnie's body gets finished with him.
Alcide, sigh. Pack leader dude...got me on his side dealing with the pack...and then annoyed the heck out of me when he walked into his ex's house.
I took babydaddy as Andy's grandfather... but someone in the Bellefleur clan for sure! Antonia the witch...Yep that's how I felt about Marcus the pack leader too. He seemed thoughtful and wise for about a minute... then he got all possessive of his ex. I know wolves mate for life... maybe there's a low divorce rate among the were community? They stay together or kill one another! XD
That's an interesting observation about the Sookie/Eric vs Sookie/Bill sex scenes.
The Bill and Sookie romance could, arguably, be described as more intimate. Bill has stated more than once that through Sookie he rediscovered his humanity. A statement I'm inclined to believe because he seems to still be in love with Sookie. (Why else free Eric?) And for Sookie Bill was her first love. She went all in.However, with Eric and Sookie while this Eric has gone all in (Sookie is, for all intents and purposes his first love.) Sookie has been burned, now, and is aware that the Eric she's fallen for is temporary. So it would make sense if they were intentionally backing of on that intimacy in the filming of those scenes to underline the state of their relationship.
Regardless it didn't occur to me unti you mentioned it. This is why I started actually posting on SpoilerTV. Interesting discussions.
I actually thought of the word "intimate" as I was typing but somehow managed to not include it! XD
You might be right about that ... this relationship and the sex means something different to Sookie so it could be a designed reflection of her feelings.
What do I think of 50 minutes of talking and really cheesy sex scenes (snow?) plus just 5 minutes of (really cool) action? I'm gonna quote Pam: "This is f****ng lame"...-I'm sick and tired of Andy's lame addiction plot line, -of Sookie-Eric sex scenes, this one was the third episode in a row they having a bed time!- Do we really need another love triangle in this series? We have Bill-Sookie-Eric, do we need Jason-Jessica-sasquatch Hoyt?- Where the F is Crystal? Is her plot line over? So it was a waste of time! Jason took care of that panthers and he was gangbanged and that's it?- And the dream sequences (this time Jessica's) are so useless! -Werewolves are not needed any more. I have a feeling they are just trying to keep Manganiello in the series so they made up this plot line. And its really hard to believe that he cares so much about Sookie who he spent just a few days with a year before...I love this series, it's one of the best, but having so many characters and just a bit of action at the end of every episodes is not good...Marnie is the best character this year. Just 4 episodes to go. Please, let them be unforgettable. I've seen some awesome episodes, this one was not one of them. It wasnt poor or bad either. I just wanna more things to happen. We don't need so much talking.
Jessica has some kinky dreams. Damn. (not that there's anything wrong with that)
The one thing that really stood out to me in this episode was the end. It may have been the cheesiest thing I've ever seen on television. Copious amounts of fog, Sookie in peril, Alcide running with Sookie in his arms in slow motion... slow motion? Seriously? I'm half tempted to reedit that scene and dub Whitesnake's "Is This Love?" over it. It's THAT cheesy.
First Bill, then Eric. Now it's Alcide's turn, I guess. It has been a long time since the ending of an episode made me laugh that much.
That shower scene...how did Alan Ball describe it? "not what the fans would expect" It was long. I couldn't figure the *purpose* of the scene. How was it moving the story forward? By the end of the scene I stated expecting Bill to show up so we'd have *some* reason for it. Then I began to wonder...maybe this isn't a dream and the purpose is to give us a super subtle hint as to more of Sookie's fairy powers...then we were back at the house and..........
As to Andy's addiction plot line...Does anyone else feel like all of the plots that are not Sookie/Eric or witch related...were put on the ultra slow start cause all the front end time of the season is going to those two plots and then everything else will happen? The Lafayette/Baby/ghost plot is finally beginning to build. The Sam/Tommy story seemed to start and then wrap up. ( I considered everything before Tommy killed his folks just setup.) Alcide's story *might* actually get rolling next week. And Sam's personal story seems about to get interesting.
Not quite sure why HBO tried to build up the tease for the shower scene... yes, I have read the book adn it's pretty hot in there, but it served as the build up for Eric adn Sookie having sex for the first time. So by the time we were teased about it happening int he show, it's purpose was redundant, but even that aside it was NOT a shower scene, I am not altogether sure what it was supposed to be!
Jessica is one of my favourite characters on the show, so I am not too happy about what looks like another love triangle being formed. I hope that the writers have a better place for it to go.
I though this week episode was good but the way Erik/Sookie relationship is been play out it bit over the top now at this stage even for TB. Would like to see the old Erik back

ReplyDeleteWas this Alan Ball's take on the shower scene between Sookie and Eric? I thought it was kinda lame with the snow and a bed in a forest...
ReplyDeleteI don't think this will be "THE" shower scene. He said it will be very dirty so mud must be involved:)
ReplyDeleteJessica has some kinky dreams. Damn. (not that there's anything wrong with that)

Season four is just à joke! i'm so disappointed.... What the fuck is going on?
