    I was a little disappointed by this episode if I'm honest. Cant really place my finger on as to why, but I just did. It was a little too predictable for my liking. Mels being Melody (too obvious), the Doctor being revived (well, that's a given as there are more episodes too come =P) - was there any need for him being poisoned? Also, River giving up 10 regenerations to save the Doctor. Seemed a bit OTT to me, Moffat can write far better stuff than this.

    However, there are a few touches I did like. Amy telling the Doctor he's had all summer to look for baby Melody - like we've had all summer to wait for this episode, the Rose, Martha and Donna references, fish finger custard, taking river to the hospital of the cat people (I forget their name.... =P) and River taking up archaeology.

    Perhaps it was hyped up a little too much following it's summer hiatus. The acting was good overall (barring River's post regeneration craziness) and the next episode looks good and bloody scary considering what time it is on...!

    Still, on balance, I voted this episode poor. Maybe I'm being a little too harsh... I'll rewatch later in the week and decide again then.

    This episode....was a mess....trainwrecky mess of jumbled millions of ideas that in no way fit together.

    Lets just leave it at that and hope that the horrible horrible incoherent thing that is River Song is never mentioned again.

    Its sad that back then when she was introduced I thought of her as awesome character and that her "backstory" made sure I never ever want to hear about her again.
