TVLine has learned exclusively that the Smallville alumna has booked the recurring role of Frances Dunhill, a Chicago socialite who begins a “for show”-only relationship with Nick Dalton (played by series lead Eddie Cibrian). The arrangement benefits both parties, as Nick runs for public office and Frances labors to please her father (while also concealing a secret).

    Suppose that means that Longmire won't get picked up. Don't care either way, wasn't interested in Longmire, nor am I very interested in the Playboy Club.

    A decision on Longmire hasn't been made yet as far as I know.  The article alluded to this guest spot being a way to keep busy until A&E makes up its mind.

    Well, at least we get cassidy on the screen again one way or another. She made SV season 10 watchable and in the finale she was amazing.
