Thanks to Karen for the heads up.

Diane Neal realized just how avid NCIS fans are soon after her initial appearance on the show.

"After I did that first episode, I'd be walking down the street and people would [say], 'What's going on with Tiva?' and I was like, 'Why is everyone talking about a pair of sandals?'" she says. Neal soon learned that "Tiva" is the shipper name for fans who want to see a Tony DiNozzo-Ziva David coupling.

Does Neal, who recurs on the CBS show as Agent Abigail Borin, want to see the two together? "It's hard because once people actually get together it's kind of ruined," she says.

In the interview below, Neal, who will return to NCIS in the upcoming season, shares her thoughts on whether Borin and Gibbs (Mark Harmon) might hook up and tells us how she'd love to do a comedy.

    I liked her character.  Diane Neal can come back as often as she likes as far as I'm concerned.

    Hmm, I thought I just heard that she was returning to Law and Order:  SVU as a familiar face in the wake of Stabler leaving.  Now I'm confused.

    Yey. Definitely *thumbs up*! I like Borin, in her 2nd ep even more than in the first. Agree with Bruce_F, she could come back more often :)

    Yeah Tiva IS a a brand of Sandals. Well in Aus anyway. Im not sure they still exist as a company though

    I really don't think that once people get together its ruined. Sometimes the writers can ruin it, but if they do it right then it shouldnt ruin anything.
    I liked her character so I'm happy she's back, should be a good episode.
