ABC is reportedly working on an adaptation of the smart, but largely overlooked, film The Joneses starring David Duchovny and Demi Moore into a TV series continuing the exploits of a fake family comprised of ‘stealth marketers’ peddling corporate wares to their neighbors.
Liz Tigelaar, a veteran television writer and producer whose credits include Dawson’s Creek, American Dreams and the aforementioned Life Unexpected on The CW – which she also created and served as executive producer on during its short run – is developing the series for ABC.

sounds cool! film was good.
ReplyDeleteI don't remember this movie, I will have to check it out...
ReplyDeleteIntriguing premise, but I never saw or heard of the movie honestly. It might be worth a look if it makes it.
ReplyDeleteI might watch this depends on who the actors are in the series.
ReplyDeleteI never saw the film but if it gets picked up, I will check it out. It's premise is TV gold. Think of all the product placement that will be a vital part of the story instead of a distraction.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the movie, and I'd say there's good potential for a show. And for ad-buyers everywhere.
ReplyDeleteI remember watching Josie and the Pussycats with all of its product placement and tongue-in-cheek mocking of advertising and messagery and thinking it was fun...
ReplyDeleteNot sure how it will translate to a series.... but conceptually it's fun.
I totally enjoyed the mopvie and I do think there is an interesting premice for a show in there somewhere, so I'd definitelly check it out.
ReplyDeleteNow, permitt me to dream cast this for a second here :
For the "mum": Elizabeth Mitchell, Lucy Lawless or Charisma Carpenter
For the "dad": Jay Harrington or Matthew Perry
For the "son": Logan Lerman
For the "daughter": Madeline Carroll
Lisa Kudrow and Scott Patterson for the neighboors
They definitely need a good male actor for duchovny's role. Fantastic film but.
