Jerry Bruckheimer To Bring Navy SEALs To ABC

Aug 21, 2011

Bruckheimer TV has sold a pilot to ABC about the lives of Navy SEALs and their families. Will it stick to the Bruckheimer TV formula or will it be something new?

Bruckheimer TV is set to tackle the airwaves again with a currently untitled show revolving around Navy SEALs – both the dangerous missions they undertake and lives they lead when not on duty. Rand Ravich (The Astronaut’s Wife, Life) will head up the series.

  2. This type of series is always entertaining if done well!

I hope it's more special ops than special effects though.... I am tired of over done action sequences and fight scenes.

  3. Kinda sounds like The Unit except with Navy Seals. I will take a look whenever it comes on.

  4. I think I saw this show before.  It was called The Unit.

  5. LOL. I really liked the Unit, but it was always on really late here. Mostly watched it to wind down after a late night out.

  7. Mark Sheppard was in a similar series too in the 90s... Soldier of Fortune(?) or something on those lines.

  8. Oh, thank God.  When I first read this I thought Bruckhiemer was adapting the Charlie Sheen film for television.  That would qualify as a sign of the apocalypse.  For those who need a reminder of that monstrosity:

  9. Ha! Sheen may as well have been holding a big ass can of hairspray or a blowdrier....  Look at all the product in his hair!

  10. The whole thing is laughable, right down to the hair.  Sheen is less believable as a Navy Seal as he would be a circus seal.

  11. Ha!
Instead of tossing him herring they'd toss mini-bottles of Scotch!
