When it rains it pours. More Game of Thrones casting news... James Hibberd has discovered Lucian Msamati will play Salladhor Saan.
Another casting for the road: Game of Thrones has found its notorious sell sail pirate Salladhor Saan. Producers have enlisted Lucian Msamati in the role for the highly anticipated second season. He’s a (one more time, all together now) British stage and screen actor. Msamati is known to some HBO viewers from his role on No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency.
Salladhor Saan is a mercenary pirate pledged to the late King Robert’s brother Stannis.

Another one I never had an exact visual for but he fits it personality wise! Nice.
ReplyDeleteI really need to find the time to read those books
ReplyDeleteThey must have an amazing budget for this show with all the casting and locations. Season 2 ought to be great!!!
ReplyDeleteI just read the chapter where he is introduced. Now I'll be picturing him as this guy.
ReplyDeleteHa! That's one of my favorite parts of reading the books now after seeing the casting of the TV series..... the new faces I see as I read.
ReplyDeleteThat's why a lot of readers never expected the books could be turned into a TV series, ithey literally have a cast of hundreds. Something like 800 plus at last count.
ReplyDeleteAs the time since I last watched an episode of GoT increases, I find my imagination reverting to the original images I had of certain characters. I think it helps that I'm now on Book 5 and many of the characters are quite far removed (developmentally) room their Book 1 counterparts.
ReplyDeleteMethinks it's time you decrease the amount of time since you watched a Game of Thrones episode! XD
ReplyDeleteBut I hear you.... I like the new books for the same reason, but being a more visual person I honestly do appreciate having the TV cast in my mind. Mostly because Nina Gold's casting has been so brilliant.
I almost didn't recognize the guy. He played the dad trying to get his daughter back in the Vampires of Venice episode of Doctor Who.
ReplyDeleteNo idea who the character is, but it's still exciting!
ReplyDeleteMe too
ReplyDeleteso many awesome castings!
ReplyDeletewow another one.... how many characters will be in S2?! :O
ReplyDeleteWell in the books there are about 100 new characters in A Clash of Kings I think... maybe more. Overall in the series there are over 800 characters that all play a role in the story. Of course maybe only 75 are major players, (but there's another 300-400 that are well fleshed out characters that are somewhat important too). Far more than the average book or TV series.
ReplyDeletemore castings!! great choice! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks
