While we have finally received confirmation of filming to be conducted in both Croatia and Iceland later this year, the filming continues in Northern Ireland. Some of the actors that have been in town these past few days include Finn Jones, Maisie Williams, Eros Vlahos, Ben Hawkey, Alfie Allen, Gemma Whelan, and Sophie Turner.

ReplyDeleteWell, last year they filmed the pilot in Morocco for King's Landing and Ireland (and a few castles in Scotland) for most everything else..., then the rest of the season in Malta (for King's Landing) and Ireland continued to be home base.
ReplyDeleteThis year they moved from Malta to Croatia for King's Landing and added Iceland for the Frostfang Mountains in A Clash of King's.
It seems like HBO is wearing out its welcome in its King's Landing locations. Hopefully Croatia will stick in there for a few years!
I wonder was Sophie was doing in Ireland. In all likelihood, she was just hanging out with Maisie. No reports of King's Landing characters besides her, and everyone else is on Pyke or with Arya. Although to be fair, Loras is there too with no mention of Renly. So... Who knows!

ReplyDeleteI think some stuff from any region could be filmed at home base in Ireland, Some interior sets and such could be there no matter if they are King's Landing, The Riverlands or the North I guess. Dunno.
