I'm pretty sure that this isn't the season 4 poster, just what they used at Comic Con and late in the spring. It's horrible. Anna Torv is beautiful and probably one of the few people that you don't need to use Photoshop on a lot. It doesn't even look like her. Also, the previous years official posters always have 'easter eggs' in them. And I would think that since this year there is one new cast member (Seth) and both universes are combined, they would have something amazing coming out probably n a couple of weeks.
I don;t really have an issue with a straight plain "show your cast" poster since this is a Comic-Con poster made for signing and each cast member at Comic-con can sign by their name....
Personally it gets old reading peopel comment about photoshop at every new psoter..... Sorry to say it folks, but that is just what posters will look like the majority of the time since it's easy to do and much cheaper. That said.... Anna doesn't look like Anna. I do like that they gave Broyles, Nina and Astrid some face time.
A little surprised no SPN fan has chimed in about the shattering glass logo and how it's a blatant rip off from Supernatural.... as if they have a copyright on shattered glass that is.
But that's the Comic Con poster using season 3 promotional stills. The season 4 photo shoot is being shot by Michael Lavine this week if not already completed.
I don't think it is a rip off but yes, that was the first thing I thought of when I saw the poster so it was the first thing I mentioned. The second thing I thought was that Anna Torv doesn't look like that. I do think its a bit rude to SPN fans to presume that mentioning it looks like the Supernatural title card means we think we own the shattering glass image. I like both shows and hope that when I get caught up I don't have to worry about fan wars between them or snide comments. I am looking forward to being able to participate in the Fringe discussion for season 4.
If this had some obvious similarity to a different series I would have used that and not SPN... although I did read
My comment was more directed at ANY fandom thinking there series "owns" some intellectual or visual concept used in that series. I find it amusing how so many fandoms get possessive of certain traits like shattering glass logo or red and blue colors used in ads or whatever it may be. Honestly the shattering glass reminded me of Supernatural too when I saw it a month ago... I'm sure there were others before (movies especially) that used that effect. Just like the character titles on Burn Notice have been used in many movies and series before.
Who knew that Mr. Noble had such lovely hands lol...and who is that lady?? very unprofessional..dnt like it..I hope its not the real poster like some of you are saying.
..To me it looks more like a "Bamboo-Tablet-Drawing" {it has the same style as the promo stuff pictures for Comic Con} and not badly done at all! I hoped that FOX posted the "CC-Promo-TAPED poster" where you actually see tape on the Walter, Peter and Liv's faces.... This one is rathler "old".... ♥
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Anymore Photoshop and I wouldn't know who was in the poster.
ReplyDeletei don't think that this is the season 4 poster.. it looks horrible :(
ReplyDeleteToo much of the "touched up" photo look !
ReplyDeleteIts old, from july
ReplyDeleteYeah..i agree! This is the poster from Comic Con...
ReplyDeleteIt's the one released on comic-con this year.
ReplyDeleteStill an awful poster. They must hate Anna Torv.
ReplyDeleteWell, that has never stopped the CW. Lol But I hope it's not the real one. Fringe deserves better.
ReplyDeleteI was going to ask if that even was her. Couldn't recall any rumours that she had been replaced. ;)
ReplyDeleteLOL that's so true..
ReplyDeleteI don't even know this guy on the left from Olivia. >:D
And geez, I don't know why they always have to overphotoshop' Anna -_-.
ı don't like
ReplyDeleteits not that bad.. its a poster after all, give it a break ppl.. put all ur effert into watching the show so it dont get cancelled... :D
ReplyDeletewell there it is, no one can have anymore questions who the lead is.
ReplyDeletei don't know why but it seems like they air brushed her way too much
ReplyDeleteNot the great poster..Anna look strange, too much photoshop
ReplyDeleteterrible poster, too much photoshop!!
ReplyDeletethey should hire us! XD
ReplyDeletereally too much photoshop... that's bad... it's the same as in TVGuide Magazine covers... :/
Who's that guy behind Olivia on left, is that Seth Gabel

ReplyDeletePretty crap an un-imaginative poster... I expect better from Fringe!
ReplyDeleteI remember this from Comiccon I didn't like it then either. The new one needs less photoshop and more altverse...

Looks.. Regular?

ReplyDeletelooks... the same like the one that handed out on the comic-con...
ReplyDeleteGreat info... now if you can please provide every shot including outtakes... XD
ReplyDeletePlease?
Pretty Please?
Strawberry milkshake Please?
Great poster! They were wonderful at Comic Con. Hoping for many more seasons and visits at Comic Con! Wooo hooo
ReplyDeleteok, i have this poster as my iPod Touch background over a month!
ReplyDeletewhat have they done to poor old Liv/Anna?
ReplyDeleteI really wish they'd start including the alternates in the promotional material.
ReplyDeleteEveryone is airbrushed way too much.
ReplyDeleteIm about 80% confident this poster was around when I started watching fringe at the start of season 3.
ReplyDeletePretty sure this is the one from ComicCon, plus I expect the season 4 one will be missing Peter or have him hidden in the back or something
ReplyDeleteThe broken glass reminds me of Supernatural. Other than that, the pictures look plastic. Perhaps there is another poster on the horizon.
ReplyDeleteI'm interested to see how much of the alternates we see in Season 4.

ReplyDeleteBesides Walternate, the show has been very vague about that topic. I'd love to see Astrid have some scenes with her alternate.

Me too... I'm one of the few people that preferred Asptrid (alternate Asperger's Astrid) to Astrid.
ReplyDeleteIt's not that I don't like Astrid, I just don't find her nearly as amusing as a lot of people do. I did however find Aptrid very amusing!
Who knew that Mr. Noble had such lovely hands lol...and who is that lady?? very unprofessional..dnt like it..I hope its not the real poster like some of you are saying.
ReplyDeletehope season 4 is good

♥
They could have been make a "blur" effect on Peter or something like that...
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to a new Season 4 poster, something with new images of our loved characters.
ReplyDeleteHate this photo
ReplyDeleteSeth Gabel should be in it too, seen as hes a series regular now
