Arye Gross will guest-star in the upcoming season of Fringe, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.

Gross — whose TV credits include Castle, The Riches and Medium — plays Malcolm Truss, a middle-aged scientist who enters the Fringe fold in Episode 5. Here's hoping he can help solve the mystery of what happened to Peter (Joshua Jackson)!

Fringe returns Friday, Sept. 23 at 9/8c on Fox

    I'm hoping we find out long before episode 5, what happened to Peter

    josh didnt even film a scene till episode 4 and then i think it was a very short one, probably at the end of the episode. So episode 5 will be his first proper introduction in the season, i remember john noble saying the first 4 episodes would build to his arrival in another article.

    Yeah I think you're right Darn!!!. hopefully we'll get some snippets of him in earlier eps, in memories of Walter and Olivia etc

    Ausiello said something about his prescence being felt or something, i dont think it will be memories as lance reddick said on EW they wont know what peter will be talking about in relation to their past lives, sorry dude i feel like i keep dashing your hopes :(

    I actually preferred him on Castle. I like Lanie but Perlmutter felt more like an ME to me.

    I appreciate the fact that Perlmutter is the only recurring character on the show that isn't a nice, polite, cordial person.  Perlmutter is an ass.  He stands out from the rest that way and that's why I like him.

    I believe he's appears somewhere between episode 2 & 5.  Of course, that doesn't mean that any of the other characters will know or realize it.

    Since I've never seen Castle, Medium or The riches, I have no idea how this actor acts, but I am very interested to see what his character thinks of everything that's going on.
