Aug 11, 2011

We’re experiencing a case of deja vu. It looks as though we’re going to have to wait a little longer to hear Doctor Who’s Series 6 return date for the UK.

  2. This is nothing new, the BBC don't announce air dates until the week it starts.  In fact the first half of S6 wasn't even in the press release for that week when it was first released, so that may well happen this time too.

DWM seem to believe it will be 27th August, same as BBC America's date, so  I don't know why people are worrying :P

  3. If I were British, no matter when BBC1 decided to air it, the return date would be August 27th.

    Got to love the internet.

  4. Really don't know why anyone would be worrying: the UK have the right to the world premiere of Doctor Who. The BBC Press Office website sometimes adds shows a couple of days into the week, but air dates for shows are always announced at least two weeks in advance to avoid competition with other channels (aka ITV).

  5. People are probably getting worried since Torchwood ended up not airing in the UK until after America. Difference is BBC funds Doctor Who where they only partly funded Torchwood, so they obviously have first run rights. They're not going to let BBCA show it before it airs in the UK. Its going to be exactly the same as 6.0 airs on BBC then a few hours later on BBCA.
