Dexter - Divorce Makes Work impossible for Michael C. Hall, Jennifer Carpenter
Aug 21, 2011
Cancelled ShowsThe Enquirer reported:
Soon-to-be-divorced Dexter stars Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter are engaged in a cold war on the set of their hit show. The former couple, who married in 2008 and split last year, are barely speaking to one another as they film the sixth season of the Showtime show.
“They talk as little as possible while they are filming scenes together and then avoid each other like the plague the rest of the time,” disclosed an insider.
As the Enquirer previously reported, Jennifer couldn’t get over his refusal to start a family.

that's unfortunate, ppl should learn from Ike and Tina...its not a good idea to work with your spouse!
ReplyDeleteRight, like I'm going to believe the Enquirer. I'm sure they try to keep things as professional as possible on set. I think the show will be fine.
ReplyDeleteThe Enquirer? Seriously? Why should anyone believe this, let alone post it as if its a credible scoop?
ReplyDeleteIf it's true, they both need to man up. But I really do doubt the validity of this...
ReplyDeleteI'm sure there is tension but they are both professionals.
ReplyDeletePossibly, since the show is already into old age by premiem cable standards. But it's not as if Deb is completely required for the show to continue.
ReplyDeleteOr they could just write it into the show, in the books Deb has known about the dark passanger for a while, so that "annimosity and hatred for someone you loved" vibe could work out really well on screen.
Eh, might be true... maybe.
ReplyDeleteRegardless that is the reason why it's every producers nightmare to have dating leads. Odds are most series will last longer than the relationship... and considering so many series end in their first year..... That says a lot!
I don't think I'm cool with commenting on stories from gossip rags, especially if it's about someone's personal issues. If it was about a documented and verified problem that was interfering with production, that would be one thing. It's not so I'm leaving this alone.
ReplyDeleteAww Darkly Dreaming Dexter... sigh. Imagine how much better the series would be if Biney had killed LaGuearta! XD
ReplyDeleteAll I can say to Michael C Hall and Jennifer Carpenter to help is.....
ReplyDeleteat least you're not Lannisters on Game of Thrones!
If you believe the Enquirer, then you.... no wait. I'll bite my tongue. HAHAHAHAHAAHAHA
ReplyDeleteHaha, I just pictured Lena Headey and Peter Dinklage being married :D
ReplyDeleteI am a little disappointed in the Enquirer....isn't it more their style to try and stir things up by creating stories of knock down drag out fights on set.
ReplyDeleteI'm not inclined to believe the Enquirer but even this gives the impression that these two people are behaving like adults and doing their job while at work. Which is what adults *do* when they're working with people they don't like. (personal relationship or not)
it's so sad to see it end up like this...
ReplyDeleteWhy wouldn't he want to start a family?
ReplyDeleteif it got really bad id assume they would kill deb off
ReplyDeleteWhy would he?
ReplyDeleteChildren suck. Not everyone wants them.
:( thats just sad
ReplyDeleteI didn't even know thet were seperated. it's sad how soon it was...
ReplyDelete... Tabloids.
ReplyDeleteWhy is this even being debated? Its the Enquirer, they lie all the time!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know they were married and going to divorce... lol but if that's true, it's a pity... :/
ReplyDeleteThe fact that the leads are divorcing must effect the show, can't see it not effecting the show in some way. Especially if the reason is that Michael C. Hall does not want kids anymore. Can't see a easy way out, as if Jennifer character leaves/written out I would be very annoyed, as a fan of the show I expected when the shown ends to see Debs reaction to find out about Dexter secret and/or the other character reaction
ReplyDeleteThis could go a lot of ways but I fear the most obvious one will be what finally passes.
ReplyDeleteWhen I read that Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter were divorcing and that there was big buzz on the breakup of what is lauded to be an otherwise very professional crew, I thought, Well, if it gets too tense, they are going to have to kill Deb off. Carpenter allegedly was quite vocal, quite often last season about her unhappiness. Hall is so very 'private' -- and an Exec Producer of Dexter, right?
The show is well into it's run. Deb could go by season's end. I'd hate it but...it could happen.
