Covert Affairs - Season 2 - Casting News - Nina Kronjager to Guest

Thanks to Richard for the heads up.

Arthur is about to get a blast from his past on Covert Affairs.

German actress Nina Kronjager will guest-star on the spy drama as an ex-girlfriend of Arthur's from 20 years ago, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.

Kronjager, 44, will play Elsa Von Hagen in one episode that will revisit Arthur's early days in the CIA when he was stationed in Berlin. Arthur (Peter Gallagher) and Elsa — who is being described as Arthur's "Ben" — dated until she mysteriously disappeared from his life.

The Arthur-centric episode will be shot on location in Berlin.

"It wouldn't be [flashbacks], but [her] coming out of the past," co-creator/co-executive producer Matt Corman told TVGuide.com earlier this month. "He was stationed there right before the Wall fell, so it's got kind of a Cold War feel, but still contemporary. It's a great episode."

Kronjager has primarily acted in German films and shows since the 1980s. This will be her first major U.S. role.

Covert Affairs recently wrapped its summer season. The winter season will premiere Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 10/9c.
