Jason Bateman has talked about how he loved Arrested Development for the way that it poked fun at America:

"It pokes great fun at America. I love America but we need to make fun of ourselves to stay healthy. It was nice for me to be able to be part of something that shone a light on things that perhaps were getting by me, like greed. Especially in our business. It was like, 'Oh yeah, I'm a greedy b**tard! And so are all my colleagues!'"
