TBBT, HIMYM, Louie and Eastbound and Down
ReplyDelete30 Rock, Glee, Modern Family, Nurse Jackie, Parks & Rec and The Big C are the series that I think will be nominated.
ReplyDeleteTBBT, HIMYM, The Big C, Cougar Town and Modern Family
ReplyDeleteCompletely agree with those nominations. I just decided to go with what I liked over what I expected for a change of pace. Although if TBBT is left off as a series again... grrrr.
ReplyDeleteCommunity, Parks & Recreation, Louie, Eastbound and Down, 30 Rock, Cougartown.
ReplyDeleteTo be honest most comedies I watch disappointed me this season.
ReplyDelete- TBBT was pretty awful mostly, stupid romances..
- HIMYM was only average and is very rarely funny anmore
- Community S2 was hit and miss for me, some great episodes but a lot of bad ones, too
- Parks was still great, although not as good as the first two seasons
- Whilst I loved S1 of Eastbound I didn't like the whole Mexico setting so...
- I also watch The Middle but don't think it's Emmy-worthy :P
So long story short I voted for Parks and Community, just because I think they deserve some attention.
The top three are easy: Parks and Recreation, Louie, Community. Cougar Town was also very entertaining in its second season and deserves nomination.
ReplyDeleteHIMYM and Modern Family
ReplyDeleteRaising Hope, The Middle, Parks & Rec, Community, CougarTown
ReplyDeleteVoted for Community, Parks & Rec, Modern Family, and Other (Psych).
ReplyDeleteAs much as I'd love to see Chuck win it, I know it doesn't have a chance. Realistically, I think Modern Family will take it again, although it will be a closer race this year. Expect Parks&Rec, Community, and The Big Bang Theory to give it a run for its money. I can see Cougar Town being a dark horse, or Eastbound and Down.
ReplyDelete— Should be nominated :
ReplyDelete1 - Parks and Recreation (they're coming out of their best season yet imo, they had a good exposure after The Office, they were in the cover of Entertainment Weekly, the show is praised everywhere : for the Emmys it's now or never).
2 - Community (sure, there were slightly more 'average' episodes than in season 1 but there were much more awesome ones too, I love this show so much and like Parks and Rec, it deserves some recognition).
3 - Raising Hope (it's the best new comedy of the season, funny and wit, a year ago I never expected this show to be so good (I had high hopes for Running Wilde though... it didn't turn out great, at all)).
4 - Modern Family (the only one in my list that will definitely get a nom, this show is funny, gets very good ratings, critical acclaim and Emmys = you never find all these 4 factors combined together elsewhere nowadays).
5 - The Big C (okay, it's not a comedy per say but there were some pretty funny moments throughout each episode of the season and there's no dramedy category, and The Big C deserves some love).
6 - It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (although I have yet to see season 6, I'm sure it will be just as good as the previous seasons, and the previous seasons should have had plenty of Emmy nominations/wins).
That's a shame they can't nominate more than 6 shows. If only the list could be extended, I'd add :
7 - The League (I don't know how the writers come up with such weird and funny stories but I love it).
8 - Californication (the show had its best season yet, the 2 big storylines (the movie based on Mia's book & the trial for sleeping with Mia) were well-though-out, Addison Timlin was glowing and DD was awesome as always).
8 - 30 Rock (season 5 was their best season).
9 - Louie (some episodes were not funny at all but some were hilarious).
10 - The Office (season 7 was better than season 6 but not Emmy-worthy,
however episodes 7.17 to 7.25 definitely were, Michael's departure gave
the writers some fuel to produce some of their finest work).
I always find it difficult to put shows with 7-8 episode seasons like Episodes, Bored to Death and Eastbound and Down against big networks sitcoms with 22-24 episodes or even 13 episode seasons. These 3 shows may not have had long seasons but they were fantastic as well.
I would not give a nom to Entourage for its 7th season (although I think it was the best since season 4, the second half was very cool) but next year, it better get nominations for its final season.
And there should be a category for best animated series. I'm sure FOX and Comedy Central would back me up on this. However, if there was, I would give the win to FX's Archer, which had an outstanding 2nd season. I'd also nominate American Dad, Futurama, The Cleveland Show, Family Guy and Ugly Americans.
— Will be nominated :
1 - Glee.
2 - The amazing Glee.
3 - Glee's Emmy Awards.
4 - Gleekorama.
5 - FOX's Glee, only on FOX.
6 - Eelg (even backwards this show would steal nominations from deserving comedies... or just actual comedies) — Eelg is actually the sound I make while watching Glee.
Raising Hope and Community are my favorites with RH slightly ahead this season. The scene with Hope in the garage was the funniest thing I saw all season.
ReplyDeleteTough stuff... I'm not really digging new comedies as classic and quality atm...
ReplyDeleteI enjoy The Big Bang Theory, still has some good episodes and also The Office had a second half of the season (barring the finale) which was very strong.
I'd like Californication to be in there, thought that was strong.
I'm watching Arrested Development for the first time atm and it is evident that nothing atm is anywhere near as good...
Bored To Death - Win
ReplyDeleteParks
Commnunity
Louie
Eastbound & Down
Would also vote for The Big C, Weeds and Californication. But they should be in another category that`s not in the Emmy Awards, Dramedy.
HIMYM and Cougar Town
ReplyDelete30 Rock, Parks & Rec., The Big C, Raising Hope, Louie, Community.
ReplyDelete"Eelg is actually the sound I make while watching Glee"
ReplyDeleteBWAH!!! Hope you don't mind but I'm stealing this one. I find Glee to be a perfectly good show....with a remote in hand. I skip anything with Rachel or Kurt. Skip anything that looks like someone whining, Drama Queen-ing, teen angsting, or acting like a 5 year old. I also skip anything where people talk for more than 5 minutes (which usually includes the aforementioned skip clause). Basically that leaves Sue time and when they are singing. Episodes go by quicker that way.
The Big Bang Theory All the way!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCommunity.
ReplyDeleteCommunity, Parks / Rec, The Big C, Glee, Louie, and It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia
ReplyDeleteSo many comedy shows I love: Parks and Rec, Community, Chuck, The Big C, Raising Hope.
ReplyDeleteI'm really rooting for either Parks or Community :)
