I hear that Frank Darabont, creator/executive producer/director of AMC's smash hit The Walking Dead is stepping down as showrunner of the show, which is now in production on its upcoming second season.
OMFG!!! NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! QUE SACO! ALGUEM VAI PAGAR O PATO! FIQUEI TAO PUTO QUE PALAVRAS DA LINGUA INGLESA NAO PODEM DESCREVER MINHA RAIVA! VALEU BRASIL!
I kind of expected him to leave as showrunner after this season since originally he was only supposed to stay on for s1 and then let Charles Eglee take over, but the fact that he does this during the production of s2 makes me a bit anxious, because that's simply not usual.
well, the majority of the first season was very boring for me and my mates. And I don't expect zombies constantly attack our characters or more getaways, fights, shootings etc. The best example of show that give me chills without these elements is Breaking Bad, which plot is so addictive that I don't look at my watch, watching an episode. TWD was always making me feeling sleepy, because just nothing was happening, even dialogues were boring... so, maybe Darabont's 'desertion' is the good news for me.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Aww, sad.
ReplyDeleteWell, this is a swift kick in the nuts.
ReplyDeleteWow That's huge news. I mean it could be very minor if they work out some form of a deal with him, but if he leaves completely it's huge!
ReplyDeleteThe pilot was the best episode by far nad it was largely dur to Darabont's hand.... I am not happy.......
No!
ReplyDeleteOMFG!!!

I have not translated this yet, but I agree!!! (I think)
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't seem like a good sign when the showrunner abruptly(?) steps down in the middle of production.
ReplyDeleteQuite a surprise considering Darabont was just at Comic-Con a few days ago and looked happy and excited.
I know right?
ReplyDeleteThat made me wonder if it was more personal reasons... like a health issue for him or family etc.

ReplyDeleteMy translation read it "pay the piper". :P (Maybe you ran it through a Spanish translator instead of a Portuguese one?)
ReplyDeletewhat the fuck? why?
ReplyDeleteHa! Well that one makes sense.
ReplyDelete"Pay the duck" was new to me, but it may now become part of my idiom repertoire! Ha! XD
This comes as a really unexpected (and not welcomed) surprise to me. Don't really understand why do it now, in the middle of production of the season.

ReplyDeleteYes, it a brazilian expression, it's kind of old but means that someone will have to bear the consequences; it's kinda hard to explain to you, sorry
