Ok then, the Emmy's are in and it's now time for you to vote on who you THINK will win (not who you want to win ;) )

Vote below in the Polls and let us know who you voted for and why as well as letting us know who you WANT to win in the comments.

Comedy

Drama

  1. Definitely think GoT will do well, totally deserves it

  2. Even though I watch all the comedies I can't choose who I want to win. I just think of them all as equal, weirdly. On the other hand, if Nick Offerman had been nominated it would have been an easy choice there.

  3. My votes:

    - Amy Poehler
    - Louis C.K. (his nomination is just awesome)
    - Julie Bowen
    - Ty Burrell
    - Parks and Recreation
    - Elisabeth Moss
    - Jon Hamm
    - Christina Hendricks
    - Walton Goggins
    - Mad Men

  4. How is it even possible that such a creative and original comedy series didn't get nominated in a single category?

They should've at least gotten a supporting actor nod, if only to make that category more diverse. I mean, 4 / 6 of the nominees are from the same show!

  5. I really hope that Peter Dinklage wins in his category. And I'd love to see the show take home the award for best drama, but it has a lot of competition there. Still bummed that Sean Bean didn't get a nod though.

  7. The majority of these shows are crap and not able to be watched by most people.  It makes the emmys a crappy award and an award show not worth watching.  I may watch but only in order to see Jane Lynch, who I got to know when she was a guest star on Criminal Minds and I enjoyed her immensely.  I tried to watch Glee and found her very interesting on the show but nothing else about the show was enough to keep me interested.

  8. I know!  I don't understand how a smart and witty and arguably one of the best, if not the best, comedy out there didn't get any awards.  At least a nomination for Danny Pudi or Donald Glover or at least to be nominated for the show as a whole.  I just don't get it!

  9. Tastes are different. Most people I know watch the series that got nominated honestly.

  10. It will be a crime if Peter doesn't win, he is even better as Tyrion than I had expected.

  11. Lead Actress / Comedy - Laura Linney
Why? - It's new, it's an underdog story with plenty of critical acclaim and, even though I hate to say it, the fact that it's about cancer makes it award season fly paper.

Lead Actor / Comedy - Steve Carrell
Why? - Emmy voters love send-offs and they don't have the balls to give it to Louie C.K. like they should.

Su. Actress / Comedy - Sofia Vergara
Why? - Critics have been fawning over her all season.  I'd be surprised if Emmy voters didn't follow suit.

Su. Actor / Comedy - Chris Colfer
Why? - He's had all the "Emmy bait" episodes this season and knocked them out of the park.  They should, however, give a special Emmy to Jon Cryer for acting like working with Charlie Sheen everyday doesn't eat away at his soul.

Comedy Series - Big Bang Theory
Why? It's an inoffensive runaway hit and a critical darling, thus, a safe bet.  Emmy voters love safe bets.  It won't be the last one they make this year either.  Also, screw you for completely snubbing It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia AGAIN.

Lead Actress / Drama - to close to call
If anyone tells you there's a clear winner between Mireille Enos and Julianna Margulies they're lying.

Lead Actor / Drama - Steve Buscemi
Why?  Mad Men had a very uneven season and voters love to give awards to acting veterans like Steve Buscemi, not that he doesn't deserve it (which he does).  Timothy Olyphant and Justified get hosed.

Su. Actress / Drama - Margo Martindale
Why? Critics have been throwing the Emmy word around since her first Justified appearance this season and never stopped.  The only person that could take this away from her is Michelle Forbes.  On behalf of everyone who has seen Boardwalk Empire, I apologize to Kelly MacDonald.  You were awesome and if you were nominated last year this award would be yours.

Su. Actor / Drama - Andre Braugher
Why? - Because Emmy voters hate genre shows.  Hate 'em.  Even if they're of the highest caliber.  Sorry, Peter Dinklage.

Drama Series - too close to call
It's either Friday Night Lights or The Good Wife.  It's the last shot for the little show that could against the only prestige project on network television that voters have no qualms about backing.  It's anyone's call at this point.

  12. Supporting Actress In A Drama SeriesWhere Lisa Edelstein???

  13. I want Colfer to win BSA but Modern Family to win best comedy.  I want Carrell to win BA in comedy.

  14. Super sad Kaidee Strickland and Sara Ramirez got over looked for Emmy noms but thrilled Taraji and Loretta got  nominated for their respective categories.  Melissa McCarthy was so cute when her name was announced, so genuinely surprised.  Oh and Huge congrats to Big Bang Theory

  15. Enos might be a step or two behind  Marguiles just because of name recognition and being on a new series. The Emmys are notoriously a year behind in their picking winners.

Strong list. If your choices weren't the same as mine they wer my second choices most times I think....other than Best Drama.

  16. Timothy Olyphant & Edie Falco FTW

  17. Glee? Really? BEST Comedy? REALLY? That show has lost all credit this season. I'm even gonna drop Glee next season ... cause i'm so bored with it. The high school drama gets more on my nerves. I hope SMASH will do better.

  18. what about How I met Your Mother? neil patrick harris is epic cool!!

  19. Chris Colfer should not be winning best supporting COMEDY actor. Ty Burrell has that wrapped up in a pretty pink bow.

How Glee was included Community I'll never know. The second season was bloody awful, whereas Community is the best comedy on TV at the moment IMO.

  20. Absolutely wrong. REALLY. I've had some different tastes with my friends but you're just wrong, it would be a crime to not watch at LEAST the comedy and drama series.

  21. I pick Timothy Olyphant, Margo Martindale and Walton Goggins. It's just a shame Justified wasn't nominated for best drama, it should've been.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Really feel there are better actors that should have been nominated.  Oh well...

  23. I feel that a lot of good shows and actors are missing.
