Thanks to Miss Ford for the heads up.
Denis O’Hare back on True Blood as Russell in Season 5
We were hoping for the return of Russell Edington in the Season 4 finale, but that is not going to happen.
“I know, I know. It was up in the air.” Denis O’Hare tells Filmschool Rejects. “They were definitely bringing me back, it was just a matter of if they wanted to bring me back the last couple episodes or bring me back at the beginning. So they decided to do it at the beginning of season 5.”
So that is excellent news! Denis and Russell will be back for Season 5!

I'm glad he won't be back this year honestly! I loved Denis O'Hare as Russel, but with the witch plot this year, faeries, Jason and Hotshot, Sam's darkness, Tara's new life choice, Bill as King... it's all too much as it is.
ReplyDeletePlus, he needs to stay burred for more than a season or a year's time in the series for that Season Three finale payoff to have any weight.
His return in Season Five premiere can set up that season's entire story arc for Sookie and it will be perfect.
I'm still crossing my fingers that he'll be in the S4 finale somehow even if they don't exactly show him. Just enough to leave us with an awesome cliffhanger until the show comes back.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you 100000% :)
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't mind if he did return at the end of the finale.... just so long as he is not a part of the season and its story arcs. It would be a little cliche to have him climbing out of the concrete "tomb" or some earthquake or explosion letting him free and then fade to black and title music.....
ReplyDeleteNo matter how or when it happens on some level I will be happy he's back.
I agree! Right now, there's waaaaay too much going on right now for him to be in this season, but I'm looking forward to seeing him next season.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad! I too wouldn't mind seeing him in the finale, or at least have the plot twist in some way in which some of season 4's drama is somehow tied to him!
ReplyDeletei hope the season 4 finale goes off with a hand coming out of the concrete
ReplyDeleteExactly! =) I can't wait!
ReplyDeleteI like Russell but if they bring him back he should have a formidable adversary instead of just riding roughshod over everyone.
