Torchwood - Sex scene cut from UK broadcast (BBC)

TorchwoodThe BBC has confirmed that it has cut a sexscene from an upcoming episode of Torchwood: Miracle Day.
The moment featured Captain Jack (John Barrowman) sleeping with a barman and is expected to be shown in the US on cable network Starz, The Sun reports.

ReplyDeleteIt's great that Starz helped get us another season but all these things with the UK/US (airing it here a week later, cutting scenes out) are starting to annoy me.
ReplyDeleteI want to watch Torchwood on the TV, I really do, but it actually feels like I'm being pushed to watch it on the internet at the moment. First we have to wait like, a whole week and now we're getting scenes cut? Thanks a lot, BBC.

ReplyDeleteWait, wait, wait. Isn't it the US that's always uptight about sex on television? This is the exact opposite of how something like this usually unfolds. We are the country that lost their minds about Janet Jackson's "wardrobe malfunction", right?

I had a chuckle over it too. Whenever I told people that the US version would be different the first thing they'd bring up is that "the US is too uptight about gays so Capt. Jack will probably be straight in the US version".

ReplyDeleteThe UK cut a sex scene? This shocks me since most of Torchwood is pretty racey stuff. Just saw the sex scene myself and it is intermingled with a black CIA Agent making love to his white doctor - obviously this scene will be cut too.
ReplyDeleteI don't find anything offensive about it at all and frankly if you don't like it turn away - it is not as if we are watching porn for an hour or so - it runs for less than 3 minutes if that!
People need to realise that television is getting to the point that they will show alot more body parts than they did a few years ago and either accept it or reject it but don't edit because somehow it will always get put on the net for everyone to see including kids.
Honesty is always the best policy and TORCHWOOD has always been racy that's the fun of it.
