Once again, Padalecki finds himself comparing Sam's situation to that of a recovering addict. "We almost saw a touch of it with the demon blood. [He's] like a recovering addict, saying 'I know I've got a problem, and it's still messing with me. I still get this urge sometimes to do this or do that, but I see it now I realize it now.'"
Sam's relationship with his brother Dean (Jensen Ackles) is as strong as its ever been. While in the past Sam has hidden certain truths from his brother, he's being honest about the realities of his predicament this time. "Dean, obviously, is going 'Um, you alright man? You're kind of passing out on us; you're talking to yourself,' so Dean's a little freaked out by it," Padalecki explains. Sam acknowledges the problem. "Sam's feeling is 'Look, I get it. I get that you're afraid, I can see why, but I'm dealing with... my issue. I have this problem, I understand it, it's not going to go away, I'm not just going to say 'No I'm healed.' Sam had a tendency to say 'No, I'm better, look,' and smile. 'Let's have a beer.' But now Sam's saying 'No, I'm not okay but I'm dealing with it.'"

Aww, I love that Sam's going to be so screwed up from the wall breaking. THIS IS EVERYTHING I EVER WANTED. CAN'T WAIT FOR SEASON SEVEN.
ReplyDeletesounds very interesting!
ReplyDeleteGlad to know that the brothers' relationship is steadily improving after the whole Apocalypse and Soulless Sam things. It should be interesting.
ReplyDeleteSadist.
ReplyDeletelol
This is the one thing I don't want to see. As much as I love the brothers relationship and their characters I want to see them at their best. What drew me to the show was the the mystery of the week as well as the over arching plot lines. With Sam having all these issues I don't see how he can be an effective hunter.
ReplyDeleteThis is great news for someone skeptical about the situation. Just the fact that the brothers are not lying to each other about Sam's condition makes this better already. Perhaps they have truly grown now.
ReplyDeleteI love that Sam isn't going to be hiding his feelings and pretending that everything is OK, he's been through way to much shit to just be OK. Its more realistic for him to be screwed up. I also like that he and Dean are talking about things instead of just burying them, Sam especially was becoming too introverted.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Sam is handling his problem this way. It's a sign of maturity and a step closer to finally accepting himself and dropping some that angsty baggage of his.
ReplyDeleteI love Sam, he's my favorite character so I'm so glad he's back to himself. Soulless Sam was a badass cold and calculating, but I missed the brotherly love too much last season. I'm glad the boys are going to be together and that Sam is dealing with his issues instead of hiding them. my favorite thing about SPN is the brotherhood so i hope we get to see lots of brotherly moments this season. Oh and Jared you a great actor love how you play all the different sides of Sam.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see where they go with Sam & Dean's relationship this season. I like that the characters have grown and moved on from the 'big brother/little brother' thing. Now they're just 'brothers' working together again.
ReplyDeleteI'm not saying I didn't enjoy RoboSam - he was awesomely scary and funny. I think the writers timed the return of Sam's soul perfectly - I was just beginning to get tired of soulless Sam. It was a great move to alienate the brothers in this way, so we can appreciate their relationship even more now they're back together.
If handled right, the story arc is going to be good. I am eagerly awaiting what these new writers are going to do. I want to see how well they know show and the boys.
ReplyDeleteLove him! He gave good answers, and was occasionally funny..
