Congratulations to Jus in Bello for the win for favorite 12th episode with 113 votes and 42%. In second was Faith at 23% with 61 votes. Currently The Song Remains the Same is winning for favorite 13th episode. Final results will be posted tomorrow. Today we look at the 14th episodes, which for me are again on the subpar side but not nearly as bad as the last poll. My prediction - Born Under a Bad Sign wins by a landslide. Don't forget to comment.
Nightmare - On the plus side, it rapidly expanded the mytharc into Azazael's special kids. On the negative, Max. I don't think there was a whinier "bad guy" in Supernatural. Yes, he had plenty of reasons to be disturbed. No, I didn't want to watch it.
Born Under a Bad Sign - There is a lot of good in this episode. The beginning was very confusing and I hated all the "just kill me" emoangsting in the middle, but you have got to love the Sam possessed angle. When possessed Sam channeled his inner Meg, literally, this episode really took off. Basically, I'm split on this episode because the first half made me cringe but the second half had me riveted.
Long-Distance Call - And we're in one of my least favorite episodes of season 3. Not only did it completely waste another episode in a shortened season, but the monster is one of my least favorite. It had some humor and who could forget "And we're walking...walking..And we're not touching that.." The tour guide rocked. The rest of the episode, not so much.
Sex and Violence - I liked this episode more than I ever expected to. I think it is because I had never seen a siren story where the siren was male. I loved that twist and I think it showed how far the brother relationship had deteriorated. Plus, Bobby saves the day. That's always awesome!
My Bloody Valentine - I find this the goriest episode of Supernatural of all and I am not a fan of gore. I watch this episode very seldom and even then I don't watch the whole thing. I know this is a big hit with the gore fans but I didn't like Famine and I don't like this episode.
Mannequin 3: The Reckoning - Also known as filler #2. Both it and it's partner Unforgiven are on my worst of season 6 list. There was no point to this episode, the conversation with the blow-up doll may be the creepiest part of season 6, and the ending is only surpassed by Frontierland in the number of anvils that fell on my head. With the exception of the Dean-Lisa-Ben scenes, this episode was worthless. And poor Impala, getting possessed again. Someone get her an anti-possession tattoo.
Vote and don't forget to leave your comment and/or ranking. Comments are that favorite old song that suddenly comes on the radio at the end of a bad day.

Born Under a Bad Sign for me... of the two I've seen :P Was a good one, and it seems it's one of the favourites from even the fans who've made it to the end of season six...
ReplyDeleteBorn Under a Bad Sign for me... of the two I've seen :P Was a good one, and it seems it's one of the favourites from even the fans who've made it to the end of season six...
ReplyDelete(OK, I've been trying to post this for 30 minutes now...DISQUS wasn't working for me?)
ReplyDeleteYou say subpar...I say there's only 1 that's really that subpar, and even it had its redeeming qualities...
1 MY BLOODY VALENTINE - Yes because it was absolutely revolting the entire episode. Yes because of Castiel's love of hamburgers. Yes because it was a hell of a mytharc episode disguised as a holiday episode.
2 BORN UNDER A BAD SIGN - Sammy was very frightening when he was possessed, and this was back then when Meg was still the big scary secondary demon the brothers were dealing with. I loved the mystery, and when Sam held Jo hostage... O.o
3 SEX & VIOLENCE - Great monster. The siren was just really creepy and effective. The deaths were absolutely gory, and the twist at the end was outstanding.
4 NIGHTMARE - One of my favorites from season 1. It jumpstarted the special kids storyline, the visions were awfully scary (knife through Aunt Zelda's head? Dean getting his brains blown out?) And then Sam moved the bookshelf out of the way all by himself. Great setup!
5 LONG DISTANCE CALL - A fairly creepy standalone with no real issues outside the general lack of energy in the episode. The monster's teeth were really cool.
6 MANNEQUIN 3: THE RECKONING - I hate the title of this episode with a passion. Even if it's a spoof of something. I also found the random Lisa/Dean montage to be astoundingly out of place and appalling. I hated the fact that it was filler as well. But they have to fill 22 episodes, so whatever. However, I think this episode might be the closest thing to straight up scary the show has tried to be in a long time. The weird camera pans that just lingered on the mannequins really upset me. Really really messed with me, not like anything else I've ever seen on this show. It just made me really uncomfortable. Then the guy with the blow up dolls was creepy in his own right. And I liked the way the organ was haunted in this episode. It was a mixed bag of sorts for me.
MBV should NEVER be below Long Distance Call or even much less, MANNEQUIN.
ReplyDeleteI know that whole "respect people's opinions" thing applies here, but just in a general kind of way, I find this to be wrrooongggg...
I think Disqus does regular maintenance and this happened to be the time. I had trouble posting too. When I said subpar I meant for Supernatural. Most of these are freaking brilliant compared to the rest of TV. :-)
ReplyDeleteI knew you were going to choose My Bloody Valentine. I also agree that the lingering mannequin shots were scary. That surprised me because I don't have doll or mannequin fear, although I am not a fan of ventriloquists. Maybe that's it.
Ha! I think you are equally nuts to put it above Sex and Violence at the very least. Don't worry. There will be others we disagree on also - especially TMWWBK and Swan Song I believe.
ReplyDeleteBUaBS always gets a lot of poll love. It's one of the first times one of the brothers goes bad and has a little something for everyone considering the first half and second half are so diverse.
ReplyDeleteDying to hear what you think of Ghostfacers though? I hope you'll add that to a comment when you watch it. It tends to split the fandom so I wanted to hear your thoughts.
Voted for My Bloody Valentine.
ReplyDeleteLoved Castiel all hungry and eating all those cheeseburgers, and the whole thing with Dean unable to feel Famine's effects was interesting. I did rather enjoy all the Horsemen episodes, except Pestilence should've gotten his own episode.
Pestilence probably should have gotten his own episode, but I'm glad he didn't. Ugh! Two Minutes to Midnight might rival The Third Man as second grossest episode. That episode has me running for the Purel every time I see it. :-)
ReplyDeleteEither 'My Bloody Valentine' or 'Born Under A Bad Sign'. I do love 'Sex and Violence' too, though.
ReplyDeleteForgive my forgetfulness, but what was gross in Two Minutes to Midnight and The Third Man? Pestilence was indeed portrayed as a sickly entity and I always enjoy the personified elements like that.
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful how everyone has different opinions on things.
ReplyDeleteI loved the emo-filled first half of the episode but I also loved the mystery part of not knowing why Sam was behaving as he was. BUBS great episode!
The Nightmare episode was also good.
It's the first time we get to see Sam's powers and I thought it was
very watchable.
Long Distance Call is my least favourite of the lot. Nothing really to commend it, just run of the mill.
Sex and Violence I really enjoyed. It was well put together and the fight scene between the boys at the end was appetizing. It was sad to see Dean, though, having to turn to that stranger for the companionship he was no longer getting from Sam:
I thought My Bloody Valentine was really good. I mean sometimes you can analize an episode too much and that can take the enjoyment from it
Suffice to say that I found lots of bits and pieces in it that I appreciated, from Sam admitting his pull towards the demon blood to Dean having no desires at all, to Cas' hamburger munching, to Famine and his yellowed teeth and even the gore!!
Supernatural is an emo-horror show after all, isn't it !!!!!!!
Anyway all my spouting just to say that I vote My Bloody Valentine although I would vote for the other three too if it was possible, regards
I completely endorse your rankings except maybe to put Sex and Violence before Born Under a Bad Sign but only because of the fight scene between the boys, in any case either way is fine for me.
ReplyDeleteMy Bloody Valentine
ReplyDeleteThe best part of Mannequin 3 was the very last scene where Dean is fixing the Impala, and Sam tells Dean he's got his back AND MEANS IT!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLong Distance Call - best part: Sam the super hero whisks the little boy out of the path of the humungous truck (which didn't STOP! You don't almost run a kid over and not stop either to see if he's alright or to yell at him for not looking before he crossed the road!)
Nightmare - best part: Sam and Dean dressed as priests, and Dean pigging out on cocktail sausages.
My Bloody Valentine - I like the IDEA of gore but not the reality - so I've only really watched the couple eating each other maybe twice. Also the guy in the vat of boiling oil/fat was disgusting.
Best part: Cas: 'these make me...very happy'. Every time I use that quote I hear it in my head in Cas' voice. Also, Dean: "how many is that?" Cas: "Lost count. It's in the low hundreds." Pestilence was one of the grossest things I've ever seen on Supernatural.
Born Under a Bad Sign - best parts: Bobby putting holy water in Sam's beer, "Don't try to con a con man."
Dean:" Dude you like full-on had a girl inside you for like, a whole week. That's pretty naughty."
Sex and Violence - best part: The twist that the siren was a male. Also, Bobby coming to the rescue.
And I agree with Dahne about the state of the boys relationship at that time - that made the siren's job so much easier.
Good things in all these episodes - even Mannequin 3. I had to think carefully about this one and I almost voted for Born Under a Bad Sign. But in the end I went for Sex and Violence (which sounds a little kinky :P ) because I loved that I didn't see who the siren was.
Pestilence with all the vomiting and pus and snot made me want to throw up. I think that episode would give a germaphobe a heart attack from the stress. Third Man had the police officer who burst into blood, boils, and the truly horrendous locusts eating the guy's brain. That episode make me itch every time.
ReplyDeleteYou are right about Mannequin 3. Any time Dean fixes the Impala is an high point for me. I hope we get to see some Baby love in the season 7 premiere. Ditto for L-DC - who doesn't stop after almost running over a kid? Psycho trucker! I was not as enamored by the priest costumes but I did love Bobby's nifty holy water trick. He is all kinds of awesome and it showed in that episode.
ReplyDeleteOooh this is the hardest one for a while for me.
ReplyDeleteThere is only one a strongly dislike and that is S&V. It comes from, for me, the absolute nadir of the show ie the latter half of s4. I loathed the destruction of the boys relationship. I found it forced, unconvincing and completely unenjoyable to watch. So S&V is at the bottom by a long way.
LDC was jts filler, and not great filler at that, so that would be 5th.
The rest I really liked a lot. I understand people's reservations about M3 but I was so damned glad that the brothers were back on the same page after Sam got his soul back, and we were finally done with the soulless Sam flashbacks in Unforgiven, that I enjoyed it more than any ep for a really long time (apart from LaV).
MBV was gross, so I skip that first scene. Euuughhh! But apart from that I enjoyed it.
I love BUABS and Nightmare. Both great eps for the brotherly moments - which are essentially what I look for in a fave ep.
OK so....
=1st BUABS and Nightmare (but voted for Nightmare because you only get 1 vote)
3rd MBV
4th M3
5th LDC
127th S&V
Born Under A Bad Sign !!
ReplyDeleteI had to pick Born Under a Bad Sign.
ReplyDeletei chose sex and violence this time. The other i didnt really enjoy other than born under a bad sign but sex and violence was better.
ReplyDeleteVoted for My Bloody Valentine.
ReplyDeleteCas and the hamburgers for me. My Bloody Valentine. Second place would go to Sam's doctor office sex. Bad Sign and Nightmare were also good episodes. I really didn't like either Long-Distance Call or Mannequin.
ReplyDeleteBorn under a bad sign gets my vote !
ReplyDeleteWell you say subpar even for SPN standards, and I disagree. :P
ReplyDeleteVoted for "Born Under A Bad Sign" (Evil!Sam) and "My Bloody Valentine" ("Be my Valentine?").
ReplyDeleteMy BLOODYVALENTINE :DDDD and omg I dont remember all of those. I really need to rewatch them. Oh I miss you Supernatural. And I think I'm wrong but is sex and violance the one with the "we eat each other to death" scene... cause GROSS and still best one ever
ReplyDelete*jaw on the floor* WHAT? It's one of my fav ever ahaha! Mostly cause I loved Cas in it hehe :P hilarious
ReplyDeleteso, i found todays poll to be just as bad as yesterdays, if not maybe worse. i find most of these episodes even less rememberable than episode 13's.
ReplyDeletelong distance call i cannot possibly have seen more than 2 times and i think even 2 is a stretch, which is rare for me. i don't think it's sooo bad, i just never feel inclined to rewatch it.
sex and violence is in the section of season 4 that i can just never remember. it starts with criss angel and ends just before on the head of a pin. i don't know what it is, but its just a section of season 4 that my brain always skips over. it could be because season 4 was maybe my least favourite season or the time when i watched it. thinking about the actual episode though, sex and violence was awesome. i liked the siren monster, it was something new instead of the usual demon or (less often) ghost.
nightmare i don't mind. it introduced us to the special kids and gave us a much bigger idea on sam's powers. but i find this episode and max overshadowed by season 2's simon said and andy (who i loved) so this episode doesn't fare too well with me
my bloody valentine i actually didn't mind. i liked the whole hunger thing, cas was very funny with his meat craving. i thought famine was weird though, i preffered war much more (although titus welliver being in lost may have helped that out qquite a bit). i like gore. its one of the reasons i love this show. ever since MBV, whenever people ask me to talk about or discribe supernatural, i always say that for a valentines day episode they had 2 people eat each other to death, the facial reactions a re priceless!!
my vote went to born under a bad sign. although i find it often gets lost in the awesomeness that was most of the rest of season 2, i still really liked this episode, the sam possesed by meg twist was awesome - "dude, you had a girl inside you for a week!" was great :D. it also set up for the fact that we saw that no matter how bad sam got, we knew dean was never going to kill him, regardless of any promise he made
lastly, mannequin 3: the reckoning. you know, this episode wan't too bad to start off with. we had creepy mannequins killing people at night. it seemed like we were back to our spooky old supernatural. but when it hit possesed kidney and innocent girl death to save some douchebags and really convenient ghost death i just turned off. when i was showing season 6 to my dad, i described this episode as starting out ok then ending really weirdly. in fact i almost didn't show it to him, except that it showed sam recover from his massive spasm at the end of unforgiven. my least favourite part of the episode was how the last guy got killed by his own blow up doll. it was waaaay to convenient to be any form of clever writing and also really creepy. seeing the impala possesed and dean get chased by her was pretty funny though "no! she posseses sex dolls! this is not a sex doll!!" was funny. i agree, they should get the impala an anti possession necklace or tattoo.
in conclusion, after writing all this, i realised i don't dislike as many of the episodes as i thought i did. hmmm, i guess that also says something about this show, even when i think an apidoe is bland and boring, i can find quite a few things i like about it. anyhow, my vote went to born under a bad sign, although it could have gone to my bloody valentine too. i guess my season 2 love biased my vote in this poll
Born Under a Band Sign :) I love Evil Sammy :)
ReplyDeleteSex and Violence definitely my fav but MBV is pretty close, it was one of the few epis that I actually said the words "ewwww that's just nasty" and it takes ALOT to make me say that!
ReplyDeleteyou don't like swan song :O!!!
ReplyDeleteand for MBV, is that coz of the gore and people eating other peopel or because of the story and famine?
Definitely Born Under A Bad Sign...possessed Sam was oddly hot
ReplyDeleteLOL! I'm glad I'm not the only one! I didn't mind The Third Man scenes as much I did with Pestilence in Two Minutes to Midnight, though. I mean, I have lunch while watching the worms on Bones and Supernatural, so for me they weren't THAT bad.
ReplyDeleteThat first appearance of Pestilence, though? I had to literally close my eyes and take off my headphone otherwise I would get sick for real, ahahahaha! Ewwwww!
I can see that I'm the minority, LOL!
ReplyDeleteNightmare - I just loved this episode. The introduction of the visions and how they dealt with it.
Born under a Bad Sign - Not much in love with this episode, but Jared was awesome and I love the brotherly dynamic.
Mannequin 3: The Reckoning - The last scene was the best part of the episode and I forgot everything else that wasn't good in it. :P. ♥
My Bloody Valentine - Interesting episode, but I don't like nor understand the "Dean is dead inside" because for me it was never true. *Shrugs*
Long-Distance Call - The final episodes of season 3 just get me depressed. I pass.
Sex and Violence - I always HATE to see them fighting. Sorry.
Ah that's right, I haven't seen The Third Man since it aired because I didn't enjoy the episode really. But as a person who thoroughly enjoyed the Saw movies (for the plot, I wasn't one of those who just wanted to watch it for the gore and traps), the stuff in Supernatural doesn't really affect me and I sometimes forget about how others may view what's being shown.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious, seeing as how you and I keep talking cause of Supernatural and Burn Notice, what would be some of your favorites from each show?
Born Under A Bad Sign. No! Contest!
ReplyDeleteIt has Bobby, Jo, worried!Dean AND possesed!Sam (and also Meg ;P)
Win! Win all around.
I don't like My Bloody Valentine, perhaps it did have some good scenes that I don't remember but no way I'm going to see that episode again! And BUABS got me disappointed, I liked better the first half and then it was shown it had been all fake. So I was planning to vote Nightmare or Mannequin, because I enjoyed both episodes better then the remaining two. I somehow voted Nightmare because it wasn't being voted so much at first and I felt it didn't deserve to be so low in the list, and then I have rewached Mannequin and I totally love it. It's Ben telling Dean that he wants him back, that he prefers him as a father instead of Dr. Matt and wouldn't mind at all to grow up to be like him. Add the great brotherly moments and a case that's good enough, with an interesting twist. It didn't feel as a filler to me because I couldn't care less about the Mother of All and Crowley, the Alphas, etc. Mannequin is actually one of the best Season 6 episodes for me (after TFM, Frontierland and perhaps My Heart Will Go On). I'm sorry, Ben, that I didn't vote for your desperate attempt to bring Dean back home and now you're left almost at the bottom of the list. My bad!
ReplyDeleteI did like Swan Song but it is not in my top episodes whereas I believe Wilson thought it was one of the best of season 5 if I remember right. As for MBV, it is very hard for me to go beyond the gore but I didn't particularly care for the story either. Empty Dean is not my favorite and it came at the part of season 5 I hated the most. Everything was depressing, no one was winning, and it was all talk because Supernatural went bigger than it ever should have gone. It did have some good lines in it but overall it just wasn't for me. I have to say that I am surprised that it is doing as well as it is with BUaBS in the running. I knew MBV was popular but I thought that BUaBS would run away with it.
ReplyDeleteTMWWBK is one of my least favorite episodes in season 6, which is right on par because it got rave reviews absolutely everywhere else. It seems I really have the same taste as everyone else. :-)
ReplyDeleteHa! OK I've got it now. (chuckles) It's not the first or last time we disagree on Supernatural, which is why it's always fun to hear your opinions even when I think you are crazy or just dead wrong. :-P
ReplyDeletePestilence is definitely one of the most disturbing characters they've created for SPN. I know spend the time watching Two Minutes to Midnight with remote firmly in hand. I watch everything with Death, my favorite horseman, and skip everything with Pestilence and sick people.
ReplyDeleteWe have good taste. :-P Do you also watch White Collar because that would be my current TV trifecta?
ReplyDeleteSome but not all of my favorites for SPN are Faith, Provenance, Devil's Trap, Nightshifter, WiaWSNB, AHBL2, The Kids are All Right, Bad Day at Black Rock, A Very SPN Christmas, Mystery Spot, Lazarus Rising, Monster Movie, The End, Changing Channels, Weekend at Bobby's, and Family Matters.
For Burn Notice, my favorites usually have a Fiona focus with my absolute favorite being Long Way Back. I also love anything with Jason Bly, Barry, Sugar, Strickland, or Seymour. Seymour HAS to come back. At a quick glance, my favorites include Fight or Flight, Unpaid Debts, Loose Ends 2, Breaking and Entering, Double Booked, HOT SPOT, Sins of Omission, Shot in the Dark, Friends Liek These, Noble Causes, Good Intentions, Breach of Faith, Where There's Smoke, and Last Stand.
I had had enough of John by Long Distance Call too. Those were season 3 issues and we really didn't need to have them brought up again at such a pivotal moment in the series. There were far bigger questions and issues to explore.
ReplyDeleteThe couple eating each other is My Bloody Valentine. Sex and Violence is the one where Dean teams up with an FBI guy to solve a case and Sam has hot sex with a doctor Dean suspects to be the siren. SPOILER - but the siren really turns out to be the FBI guy. He infects both Dean and Sam, who then fight complete with an axe until Bobby saves the day.
ReplyDeleteEvil Sam is fun in all his reincarnations, except blood addicted Sam. I didn't care for that one. I loved RoboSam. He was so funny.
ReplyDeleteI need an in-depth explanation for this. I just can't believe it.
ReplyDeleteI guess it won't be the last time I think you're crazy either then. :P
ReplyDeleteHa! For me it was "ewwww that's just nasty" followed by hiding under my pillow before I vomited.
ReplyDeleteI didn't understand that part of MBV either. It felt like the writers needed to make it true in order to sell the episode. That bugs me to no end. Plus it was downright depressing in a season that had already taken devastated and depressed to a whole new level, one if the reasons why I dislike season 5. Love the philosophy to forget the bad in an episode. That makes every one a win.
ReplyDeleteDean's conversation with Ben is by far my favorite part about Mannequin. I think Ben was dead right and i wish Dean had listened to him. Still, I am glad we got to see as much of Ben as we did because before season 6, he was one of the PiP's I most wanted to see again.
ReplyDeleteVoted for "Born under a Bad Sign". I don't love it, but sure is the best among these.
ReplyDeleteof that group I had to pick Born Under a Bad Sign just for Sam's possession by Meg (my daddy shot your daddy in the head) and Dean's no questions asked concern for Sam even if he killed somebody. All the others of course have their usual SPN strong points, but my least favorite of this group is Long Distance Call, I just didn't get into it even w/ JMD's voice showing up.
ReplyDelete1-BORN UNDER A BAD SIGN-one of the best episodes of the series ever, Jared is outstanding as a Meg possessed Sam
ReplyDelete2-SEX AND VIOLENCE-I loved the tension between the boys in season 4 and this episode really amped it up plus Sam and the Doc were totally smokin' hot in their scenes3-MY BLOODY VALENTINE-loved all the Famine stuff he was my favourite Horseman I found him genuinely creepy and threatening. Also loved seeing Sam's struggle with the blood cravings4-NIGHTMARE-the mytharc was amped up in this episode and while I didnt like Maz I did like all the stuff with Sam and his powers and how freaked out and protective Dean was5-LONG DISTANCE CALL-I found it a wasted episode at that point of the season, it was good but not great. The best part was Sam fighting the bad guy 6-MANNEQUIN-one of the worst episodes of the entire series, the beginning with the brothers was great but everything after that was a completely bore fest, terrible MOTW and seriously if I wanted to watch a soap opera I'd go watch one
1. BUABS
ReplyDelete2. MBV
3/4 tie S&V/Nightmare
5. LDC - decent episode but I agree that it tried but didn't create as much urgency as needed for the shortened season
6. M3TR - Except for the first few and last few moments of brotherly scenes this episode was ugh ... most lame MOTW ever and Silent Dean let L&B dump all over him without much explanation of his actions (I know this statement is poorly written and doesn't convey Dean in a positive light at all but I loathe the Gumbies too much to think rationally about Dean's situation).
Mine too. But then I've always been honest about disliking Castiel and the angel storyline from 4.01 when the character was introduced. Many fans love the angels and Cas but I've never been one of them.
ReplyDeleteTMWWBK is one episode I like exponentially less every time I see it. The first time it was boring but I tried to see the good. Now I simply cannot stand it. Besides the unanswered questions, gaping plot holes, freaking redundancy in the same episode, and the fact that I now HATE the angel story line, there was no action. When we started to get action, Ben Edlund stopped it in favor of yet another flipping monologue. It's BORING. Plain and simple. Crowley was the best thing in it.
ReplyDeleteI try to write my recaps (http://dahne1.blogspot.com/search/label/Man%20Who%20Would%20Be%20King )focusing on the positive things in an episode. That's why I call them recaps instead of reviews. But even in that mindset I couldn't disguise my distaste for this episode. I'm not all aboard the Ben Edlund express like most of the fandom. I think his stuff turns up bad as often as good but this is one episode I could have happily lived without. By the middle of the episode, all I was hearing was Cas going, "Blah, blah, blah...." ad infinitum.
Jared's delivery of that line in a sing song voice was one of the best acting choices he's ever made. It was classic and downright chilling. That more than anything sold me on evil Sam.
ReplyDeleteI guess I'm one of those 'aboard the Ben Edlund express' :D
ReplyDeleteWhen he's bad, he's very, very bad: Ghostfacers, The Third Man, and TMWWBK spring immediately to my mind.
But when he's good, he's OUTSTANDING:
The End, On the Head of a Pin, Nightshifter Monster Movie, The French MIstake, are some of my all time favorite episodes, and there's a few others that are pretty darn good.
I'm definitely with you though on TMWWBK - for all the reasons you gave.
Actually that is the best way to put it. It's rarely middle ground with Ben Edlund so everything becomes an extreme hit or miss. I guess it's better to say that when the Ben Edlund express comes in, I never know whether to board the train in expectation or run for the nearest bus. By the way, The End, Nightshifter, and Monster Movie are all in my top episodes list too.
ReplyDeleteEasy pick on this one for me, hands down My Bloody Valentine. Its an episode easily up in my top favorites category. Then again I love the gore and the Sam blood addiction. We hadn't seen Sam drink demon blood in a while at that point and I'd been missing it. (yea I know I'm a bad fan for liking Sam on demon blood)
ReplyDeleteFor the other episodes I'd have to say Born Under A Bad Sign comes in 2nd ("My Daddy shot your daddy in the heeead") and then Nightmare at 3rd (I love anything that focuses on the Sam with powers storyline). The other 3 I can't really put them in any order because they'll all meh episodes in my book. Long Distance Call is actually the only one of the 3 I've seen more than once and that was just because my brother had missed it during my sister and my first go around. If I had to I guess I'd go with Sex and Violence, Long Distance Call (Dean was so damn stupid in that episode), then Mannequin 3: the Reckoning (I have to say that this one was better overall than All Dogs Go To heaven at least).
Funny. Though we often seem to have the exact opposide tastes, I completly agree with you on TMHWBK. Dean had a few good lines, the rest was boring.
ReplyDeleteIt is strange when I find that Crowley was the best thing in an episode rather than the brothers.
And Ghostfacers...urgh. I there anybody who actually likes that one?
This one is definitely easier. I voted this morning on my wait out to work but didn't time to comment. More time now. I wanted to give it a some thought.
ReplyDelete1. Sex and Violence was a good story as far as it goes. I liked the male siren and the fact the tings came to a head between Sam and Dean. I would like to know what happened on Dean's little side trip that he got sent on. lol I enjoyed this one.
2. Born Under a Bad Sign gave us a good idea of what evil Sam could be and I really enjoyed Jared as in that role. I have to agree that it was confusing at first, but made evil delicious.
3. Nightmare This story was okay. It was definitely better than the other three in this category.
4. Long Distance Call is definitely not one of my favorites. It just bothers me.
5. Mannequin 3: The Reckoning The part that was good was Dean, Ben, and Lisa. The rest was disturbing.
6. My Bloody Valentine I'm sorry. I didn't realize I had that weak a gag reflex.
Lol actually I was talking about MBV :DDD I loved ... looking at Cas :D during TMWWBK cause Misha is my master hahah, but nay.. havn't rewatch it yet, Cas was kinda saying the same thing over and over again during the season and this ep was like STOP IT already hahaha. liked the concept though
ReplyDeleteOK, I start with my least favorite episodes:
ReplyDeleteMannequin 3: I expected more from this episode I think. First of all, the Mannequins were not that creepy (seen worse on SPN), the brothers are divided and Dean comes back more crushed than he leaves. They cannot save the pip (and I am one who doesn't always have to have a happy ending). All in all this episode was depressing. Best part was indeed the end sequence.
Long distance call: I didn't like it that John was made a major part of the storyline. Even in death he almost divided the brothers. I haven't much (meaning none) love lost for John.
Nightmare: Though I've seen worse on SPN this episode was still gross. Every time the knife is about to drive through the mother's eye I have to close my eyes. The special effects were pretty good too (flying gun). We learned more about Sam's powers and I liked that for once he came to Dean's rescue. Not so much did I like the ending. Just because there's worse outside doesn't make John a better father all of a sudden.
Sex and Violence: "Strippers, Sam, strippers!" I liked the mythology and the brother fight. It showed that both had issues dragging along. And Bobby to the rescue is always a good thing.
MBV: Ha, Cupid! It was interesting (and disturbingly gross) to see how everybody fell hungry of something, even Cas. All except Dean ("That's because I am well adjusted" - sure, Dean!). While one brother was raving the other was empty. And famine was one creepy old guy.
BuaBS: gets my vote. First, I like it when Jared plays a darker Sam (RIP RoboSam). Second Dean was clever and figured out that Sam was possed, while I didn't. Bobby showed why he got to get an old hunter in this world where you seldom reach 30. And to add a shallow reason, I find it sexy when they speak latin.
OH RIGHT!!! Hahahah. Damn it! then I love MDV even MORE ahhaha. That scene is just the perfect match with SaV title hahaa.
ReplyDeletethanks :P I said I needed a rewatch like NOw
I do in fact White Collar but its not a must see for me, if I miss it then I miss it. Recently did a Top 10 shows for myself and came up with this: Lost, Game of Thrones, 24, Community, The Walking Dead, Fringe, Burn Notice, Psych, Dexter, and Supernatural.
ReplyDeleteThe episodes of Supernatural that stuck out to me and are my favorites include: Phantom Traveler, Skin, Nightshifter, Tall Tales, Heart, AHBL1&2, A Very Supernatural Christmas, Mystery Spot, Ghostfacers, Yellow Fever, The End, Changing Channels, Abandon All Hope, Hammer of the Gods, and Swan Song.
As for Burn Notice, I too like Fiona episodes or episodes that deviate from Michael to focus on someone else more. Barry and Brennan are/were my favorite recurring people. I'm hoping Simon will show back up at some point as some kind of threat/ally. I got here: Loose Ends Part 2, Good Soldier, Bad Breaks, Lesser Evils (one of my favorite season finales of any show), End Run, Signals and Codes, Long Way Back, A Dark Road, Devil You Know, Friends and Enemies, Hard Time, Out of the Fire, and Last Stand.
I think Burn Notice is best when it is not Michael focused too. I was glad when Brennan died but I would love to get another crack at Simon. Of course since the actor is now starring on Raising Hope I don't have much hope for that.
ReplyDeleteI think it'd be interesting if Larry got drawn in, possibly by blackmail, by whoever ends up being the big bad (which I figure will be hidden remnants of the company). Then since Simon was a threat to them, Michael has to team up with him to stop them.
ReplyDeleteDo you know if it has been confirmed if Michael's dad is dead? Because back in Season 2 I was expecting him to be the one who burned Michael.
The next time Larry appears I want him to die for real. He's gotten old to me although I liked him in the first episode. Originally I thought Michael's dad was going to be a spy too, but I think that ship has sailed. It would be too out there now.
ReplyDeleteThat's true, at this point it would be kind of a stretch for Michael's dad to be revealed to be a spy. And I think Larry makes for a good adversary to Michael. I'm wondering if we're going to be seeing any of the people from Sam's prequel movie this season.
ReplyDeleteWe are definitely seeing the 2 CIA agents that Sam tied up in the movie. I think in the next episode in fact.
ReplyDeleteOh that's who kidnapped Sam in the next episode? Awesome! I love Sam episodes because well I love Bruce Campbell and I love the bromance/friendship between Sam and Michael.
ReplyDeleteAnd I replied to this message higher up because it was getting kind of annoying having a super thin reply box.
I don't think they kidnap him. I think they are the ones who don't want to give Michael the resources he needs to rescue Sam. Apparently they took being threatened with a gun and tied up personally.
ReplyDeletefoot. Somehow I didn't see the link for this one before the poll closed. But...here's my order....
ReplyDeleteBorn Under a Bad Sign
Sex and Violence
My Bloody Valentine
Nightmare
Mannequin 3: The Reckoning
Long-Distance Call
Ah at any rate, should be a darn good episode.
