SpoilerTV - The Best TV Show Competition 2011 - The Winner Announced + Final Words

21 Jul 2011

Hey Guys,

It's been a record-breaking two days.

48 hours after I finished the final official post of the 2011 SpoilerTV Best TV Show Competition we have reached the final result and it is a pleasure to announce that Supernatural is the winner!!

After a battle which swung one way and then the other, it was Supernatural who managed to push on for one final time in the last few hours to haul out a phenomenal performance of over 11,500 votes. Fringe fans should also be proud of what they achieved in this final, no show has ever pushed Supernatural so hard, no show has come so close to proving that perhaps Supernatural are a beatable force. For 2011 though, the Winchester brothers remain undefeated and after a force de force showing that saw Chuck hammered and The Vampire Diaries humbled it is perhaps fitting that over the course of the competition the strongest show won. I’m sure many will agree that it’s not an easy feat to win this competition, so congratulations to all Supernatural fans for a huge feat, and commiserations to Fringe fans for giving such a good run. After the fantastic third season it’s clear to see that the ‘cortexifans’ are stronger than ever and hopefully they can continue to grow in season four and get us another couple of years with Olivia and the Bishops... Also we should applaud the ‘browncoats’ for pushing Firefly into third place having beaten The Vampire Diaries in the Third Place Playoff; for a show that was never given the full chance it deserved to still be going this strong some nine years later is testament to what Joss Whedon created all those years ago.

Congratulations are also in order for the winner of our prediction competition, that person of course being the man who has stood above us all from the earliest days of the competition, Sergey Sevostianov on a huge 168 points, highlighted by his faultless bracket from the Quarter Finals onwards. He is the winner of the DVD voucher, and we will be receiving the prize over the next few days. I know he isn’t a regular commenter but I’m sure if he’s reading this we’d all love to hear from you! Sergey, you should also email DarkUFO at darkufo@spoilertv.com on how to claim the prize... Congratulations also to Zedd for finishing in second place on 152 points and to Dahne for finishing third on 151. For everyone else, you can find your final positions HERE

Personally it really is very exciting and humbling to know that a competition which is in only its second year, on a website that is still young, fresh and growing managed to produce over 22,000 votes!

I remember last year when I approached DarkUFO about the possibilities of running this competition that neither of us expected it to become the huge success it has become. We would like to express our gratitude and thanks to everyone who voted, commented, tweeted, facebook-ed, constantly refreshed the page and revisited the site throughout the month as well as any other things you did to help make it such a success. In the Final alone we had over 50,000 page views, 22,000 votes, 2,500 tweets and over 1,000 Facebook likes. Also amazing is that the official twitter feed for Supernatural @CW_Supernatural tweeted out our final competition:

Add into this the fact that we have had no dramas, and that people come to our site to talk about television in a civilised manner without any disrespectful words makes it a pleasure to run. It takes me a lot of time to set up the nomination stage, counting all the votes you submitted was a huge task, and I spend at least an hour each day setting up the days post and then more time monitoring and of course then joining in the fun. It's great that it isn't a chore but a privilege to be able to run the competition...

I hope that for many years we can reproduce the fun that the 2011 Competition has been; we have surpassed the heights we reached last year ten-fold.
I feel that together we have spread the word that currently there are many fantastic and well-loved television shows that deserve to be remembered. It has also shown that despite the hands of time beginning to distance them from us, there are shows such as LOST, Firefly, Buffy & The X-Files that will live on.

I hope everyone has found a new show to try watching as a result of one of our polls and gives them a whirl, I’m sure it will be worth your time.

If you are here as often as I am you understand when I say that a television show, when it’s done correctly becomes a part of you that you want to keep forever. It is with the fantastic technology today that we get to share our own experiences with each other and to come together to celebrate the brilliance that television is and the memories and feelings that they leave you with.

I will be returning next month to continue the games with you all in the ‘SpoilerTV Character Competition’, where we will see if LOST’s Jack Shepherd can make it two wins out of two or if a new character can steal his crown.

However this is the end of the Show Competition until next year, where I will be back to share our love of television with you all, and to see if Supernatural can be beaten or whether it will be a Winchester hat-trick.

At the end of the day, it isn’t all about the winner, but it’s about the fun of spending some quality time with people who understand what it means to be in love with a television show.

I speak from personal experience in saying that not everyone does :P

Until next year, this is the end.

Thank you for playing.

  3. Let's be honest here, did anyone really expect otherwise? :P The SPN fans are nothing if not dedicated!

I think I need to get around to watching it sometime.

Thanks for setting up this competition SpoilerTV, I've enjoyed the debates about which show is better in each round and there's been some really interesting discussions. I've actually started watching Fringe thanks to the comments of several people here about why they love the show!

  7. "Add into this the fact that we have had no dramas, and that people come to our site to talk about television in a civilised manner without any disrespectful words..."

This is what makes SpoilerTV different from other TV sites.  I joined SPTV because of this contest last year and I have thoroughly enjoyed it.  Here's hoping that others will be similarly inspired this year.

  17. Congratulations, Supernatural! We rocked it again this year because we are all just that awesome! Go SPNFamily! :D

  18. What a wild ride! A small group of Twitter friends of mine decided we wanted to shoot for 10k votes for SPN because we thought that was an outrageous number and would ensure a victory. Little did we know how fan-tastic Fringe fans were! We were on high alert the entire 48 hours, tag teaming and pulling out every stop to keep up and we still felt like Hellhounds were on our heels. Watching the video at the beginning of the post that described the competition provided some insight into why that might be and now I am determined to go check out the DVD's of Fringe. What a worthy opponent!
This is my first major contest as a Supernatural fan, so I am just a little bit more in love with them than I was even 48 hours ago and they had my heart pretty much sewed up then. :)
So a big shout out to the Supernatural fandom from every continent and every country who voted, who tweeted, who asked people in person and in direct messages, who made special please vote videos and who didn't unfollow me. You rock as much as our beloved show does!

  19. I've seen Veronica Mars before, but seeing it in one poll made me start rewatching the show. I'm glad to hear that it gained at least one new viewer, 'cause it's a really great show. I hope you're enjoying it! =)

I think that Fringe put up a very fair and tough fight so hooray for Supernatural winning...

    ReplyDelete
  24. That was an amazing poll! Congratulations to everyone involved! I'm excited to see that there are multiple strong fandoms in this often overlooked genre! It's nice to see how many of us there are, especially since  there's so much crossover in fandoms. Hopefully we'll find a poll that we can join forces on!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Congratulations to all of the winners and also the 2nd & 3rd places.
Also, thanks to SpoilerTV for this competition. I loved reading through (at least some of) the comments and being reminded of shows I used to love, finding some new shows I might wanna give a try, being reminded of shows I planned on watching for years now and also for seeing my fave shows finish with such amazing results. Though the thanks for the latter goes out to everyone who participated.

And I'm already looking forward to the next poll, although it sounds like it's gonna be even more difficult than this one. Character Competition. Wow.

  26. Thank you so much for all of your hard work! Congratulations on an awesome competition!

  27. That's the most fun, getting to meet other people & discover other shows! I hope you enjoy Supernatural, it's an amazing (and addicting) show.

  28. Great competition.  Congrats to Supernatural fans and thanks Adam for organizing it and SpoilerTV for hosting it! It was great fun. As a FRINGE fan, I gotta say second place is not such a bad place to be, it was a very worthy fight!

  29. enjoyed = now past tense....watched it all really quickly! lol

  30. AWESOME!! Thank you for helping us show what really is THE BEST TV SHOW EVER-SUPERNATURAL!!!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Awesome. That explained everything I wanted to say also. Great comment! 100% agree and now you won a new Twitter follower too ♥

  32. This site is a joke, where shows like fringe and firefly come top and shows like the wire and arrested development are far below. This site arouses crappy fanboys for terrible terrible shows like chuck (which i once liked but it is now a failure). Why O why people do you like watching mindless television with boring explosions and thin plots. Watch Breaking Bad, watch The Sopranos, watch Freaks and Geeks,  its shows like this that make television.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Thanks Adam for a great contest. It was nerve wracking but so much fun (I remember last night when I sat back wondering where else I could post the link to recruit more fans. Lol, it was kind of stressful.) I'm glad Supernatural won. People may think it's unfair that the show wins virtually every poll it's a part of, but consider this: It's a great show, with great writing and great acting, yet it get near zero promotion from the network it's on. They flat out don't care about it and are quick to throw it under the bus in favor of their other up and coming shows (case and point, this past January when the network bumped the show's spring premier for  repeats of another show.) This is one reason why the fandom is so passionate. When you love something so much, and it gets ignored and stomped on by the higher ups, it makes you mad, and then you channel all that energy into making things right. I'm sure Firefly fans can relate. I'm not surprised their show came in third. Had they had the technology and the social network sites we have today nine years ago, maybe the show would have lasted longer.

No matter what the outcome, I think one thing is for certain: All the current shows who ranked high in this competition will have a chance to survive if threatened with cancellation. I'm a Supernatural fan to the boot but if it ever came to fighting for either of these shows, be it Fringe, The Vampire Diaries, Chuck or NCIS, I'll be there to back them 100%. That is if they are not going against the Winchester brothers, cause that would be against the will of our Lord and ruler, Castiel. :D

    ReplyDelete
  34. I think it's the fact that there's 6 seasons to get through that puts me off at the moment!

    ReplyDelete
  35. but have you ever watched the wire? ...if not, you have not lived.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Thank you so much for all your hard work! This was the best competition so far. It was awesome to be a part of it with voting, tweets and shout outs. Congrat's to YOUR FAVORITE series FRINGE. It was a great voting and nerve-racking 48 hours. I should really give it a second try...A huge thank you to all the fans Supernatural fans which have proved once again how passionate they support their series. Love you all ♥

    ReplyDelete
  37. Awesome. I would have been happy either way but with Supernatural winning, I'm a little MORE happy. :D

    ReplyDelete
  38. Congratulations to Supernatural fans! You did it! As a fellow Fringe fan, guys we won too! Second place is AWESOME! I'm thrilled with that win and I'm thrilled that for the most part, Supernatural and Fringe fans were very respectful to the opposing sides and fought to the death for their shows! Here's to the two best shows on TV!

    ReplyDelete
  39. I agree about the shows but it's not the site's fault that these shows have a bigger and stronger online fanbase. So calm down.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Oh and Adam, DarkUFO, and the others who put this all together. Thank you! Its been a stessful but oh so enjoyable ride!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Thanks Adam, for all the time you put into this !  I know I look for to the competitions each summer for the past 3 years. Congrats to the winners (SPN & Sergey)

    We value your opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  43. It is a great compliment! Thank you! It makes my heart proud that us Fringies rose to the challenge and made you guys work for it :) And Supernatural winning proved that it must be a great show with even greater fans. I may have to give it a try :)

    ReplyDelete
  44. yess yess yess. woohhooooooooooooooooooooo!!
    best show won. *happy dance*
and one thing i learned in this is i m surely gonna watch Fringe now.

    ReplyDelete
  45. If this competition proved anything to me, its that Supernatural and Fringe fans alike have more devoted fans than any other show. I've never seen such a turn out for both shows and this is the very reason both shows have remained on the air despite opposition :)

    ReplyDelete
  46. little sad for tvd though :( wish it came second :(
last yr it was my two fav shows in the finals :)

    ReplyDelete
  47. till this time i backed Vampire Diaries coz it wasnt against supernatural. but in semifinals tvd was against supernatural and i was crushed.
    but woohoooo for supernatural win

    ReplyDelete
  48. See, that really doesn't help. You bash other shows whose fans have
proven, with their numbers alone, that there's something worth watching. You look them down because they
are genre shows and not up to your snooty, art house standards. I'm sure
you feel real smart thinking you're a fan of Sopranos or Breaking Bad
because they are oh so critically acclaimed, yet you won't give shows
like Supernatural or Fringe a minute of your time to see if the plots are really as thin as you think, or the show is really all about explosions. It always amuses me how casual TV viewers, who are mostly swayed toward acclaimed shows because of the publicity, turn up their noses at genre TV fans and call them fanboys and such, while in fact it's them who are watching TV passively. If the shows you mention are so great then why is there no fandom? Why do they perform so bad in polls and contests and have no one work hard to get them noticed, create sites, and make art and fanfiction for them? Let's face it, a few smug critics and Emmy judges telling us a show is good doesn't make it so. The shows that came on top in this competition did it by actually being good, and by proving it season after season without the help of fancy awards or overblown publicity. Nothing tells me more about a show than seeing a large number of people watching and loving it.

    ReplyDelete
  49. So glad my fav show won <3

    ReplyDelete
  50. Haha, I'm the same at times. This competition also made me rewatch Roswell (I know, it never made it to the polls, but still) and I watched through all of the episodes in about 6 days. Let's see how much I'm gonna need for VM.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Amen to that. wat u say is absolutely true. and supernatural, tvd, fringe all have good critics back up too along with fans backup.
still Emmy doesnt recognise it. why? coz its genre shows and CW shows.
the true winner is the one who has large no of fan back up and is hugely popular internationally.
some 10-15 persons cant decide which is best show.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Thanks for doing this Adam.  I know it is a lot of work, but it helps pass the summer hiatus well and gets us talking about our favorite TV shows.  It's a wonderful tradition.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Hi there.
I want to thank Mr. Adam D. Harris, Mr. DarkUFO and every person who organized this competition. I think this year competition was much better than in last year, despite the fact that the total number of votes has decreased.
This year had an amazing final. I love the both shows so much, I was so happy to watch for that tough final fight, and I'm so happy SPN won this one. It's so well-deserved. I just cannot!.. Epic final.Prediction competition was BIG part of it for me. It's really unexpected that I won this. I don't really know what is DVD vouche though. I'm just glad that I win.Last year I was a leader (or one of the leaders) in Best Character Competiton about 10 days or even two weeks. But then one stupid pick ruined my bracket. Honestly I thought that the same will happen this time. And when I first time saw Dahne's bracket (after 2nd round) I was like "Oh, God, what a perfect bracket. He definetely will be winner. At least I will be high too". But Chuck fans and TVD fans did what they did. It was terrific. (I like LOST much better than TVD though.)So thank you everyone again. Congrats Supernatural, congrats Supernatural fans, congrats Fringe and Firefly fans. I have been stalking this site for about two years. It grew very strongly during this time and hopefully will continue to grow. My English is not good enough to comment here often. Actually, this is my fourth language. But I hope you understand what I mean. P.S. I already know who will be winner of the Best Character Competition this year (In my bracket of course).

    ReplyDelete
  54. Top 2 shows out of 64 thats something to be proud off.

In oh must warn Fringe fans, most likely we will see you guys in future contest.
Some parts of our fanbase is aggressive with voteing in the comments may scare you. lol
I think most of that comes on those E online poll those is just wow.

But most of us just suporting our show like you guys did in this contest.

    ReplyDelete
  55. whooh!!!! go supernatural we won !!!! yesss

    ReplyDelete
  56. Why not start on season 2 then?  That's when Supernatural became more serialized with less standalone episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I love how we could also remain civil while discussing our favorite shows.  It says a lot about both fandoms.  I look forward to many more competitions between them.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Last year I tried a lot of "new to me" shows because of the Best Show competition.  Veronica Mars was by far the best one.  Thanks for leading me to it Wilson.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Enjoy your prize! Basically just an Amazon e-gift certificate.
    A landslide win!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Ah, Roswell was my guilty pleasure for its first two seasons.  Third season was cringeworthy but it still love Michael and Maria.  I think they are the last couple I've 'shipped.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I AM EXHAUSTED and still can't remember the last time I had so much fun (and gathered new wisps of grey hair!)

First of all all the Supernatural fans rock! They worked very, very, very hard to win this poll and that's thanks to all the Fringe fans! You rock too! Because it would be half the fun if you hadn't fight as equally hard as we did. I remember waking up for two days in a row with Fringe on the lead. It also showed us that it is not written in stone that Supernatural automatically wins. Actually it was a close call and I am sure for next year it's gonna be even harder because the Fringe fans demonstrated that if dedicated enough Supernatural is beatable.

But it also showed what Supernatural fans learned from their show and the Winchesters: If they are beaten down, they get up, they stick together, improvise and organise. They sleep less and and use every resource available to win the fight (sorry to all my twitter followers, fb contacts and real life friends who had to bear me the last two days). And all that without loosing their humor.

That is why I not only love Supernatural but also the fandom surrounding it. They make sleep deprevation an enjoyable experience and let me experience team-free-will first hand! OK, chick-flick moment is over.

Thanks Adam for arranging this poll (*and torturing us for 48 hrs* ;) ) It let us forget hiatus for a couple of days and proofed that  we can also win a poll when a F5 key is not available :D

    ReplyDelete
  62. Please do.  I think most fans of one of the shows would also like the other.  They are very similar in many ways.

I am in the middle of rewatching Fringe season 1 and put season 3 on my Netflix queue 2 days ago.  Looking forward to seeing what all the kuddos season 3 is getting is all about.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Agreed on all points!  It was a lot of fun and solidified new friendships.  I would also like to thank the people who did not unfollow me.  There's no other show than Supernatural to make me go willingly into Twitter jail.  And there's no other show than Fringe that would make it necessary.  Great job to both sides!

    ReplyDelete
  64. Thank you very much! wow, I'm just happy! We deserve it:) Congrates my favourite show!

    ReplyDelete
  65. What a result to wake up to!  *Happy Dance*
(And for me to do a happy dance 5 minutes after waking up is really saying something)It was a hard won victory against a worthy opponent. Congratulations Fringe fans for all your efforts - you ROCK!This competition marks my one year anniversary as a commenter here at SpoilerTV. I'll admit there've been times when I've sworn I'm never coming back. When bitching and whining and repetitive arguments seemed to be everywhere I looked (Mostly on the Supernatural pages I might add - because ya know, it's canon for Supernatural fans to complain) But the great discussions and friendliness of the majority always outweigh the few who try to wreck it for everybody else.

SpoilerTV is an outstanding place to be, run by people who know what it's like to dream of having a safe place to be passionate about a tv show.

I know I said this yesterday on the poll thread, but I'll say it again:
Thanks Adam and Andy - you guys ROCK!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  66. Congrats to Supernatural for back to back wins. Supernatural has such a strong fandom. We love our show and we love Jared and Jensen. Without Jared and Jensen there would be no Supernatural. It was a close race which made the poll very interesting. A fight to the finish. A job well done by the Fringe fans and congrats on second place not bad. Again, congrats to Supernatural for a win well deserved.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Congrats on your win Serg.  You did an amazing job of predicting!  And hey, don't be afraid to comment.  Many people hear do not speak English as their first language.  We still all understand each other or ask questions if we don't.  It's a great place to chat so I hope you share your opinions more often.  We like knowing what you think (especially if you have tips for the Character Cup.)  :-)

    ReplyDelete
  68. Would I not miss out on a lot? I usually like to start from the beginning with shows I haven't seen before because of character development and ongoing storylines.

  69. It would be awesome if you gave it a try!
To be honest,I stopped watching Fringe after season 1 because I just couldn't warm up to it..But almost every Fringe fan said that season 3 takes it to a whole new level,so I think I'll give it another shot when I get back from my vacation..!  : )

    ReplyDelete
  70. Well, it might not be so good to go in with very high expectatives. I would say the first half of Season 3 is an absolutely great ride, but then it drags a little until it reaches the final 3 or 4 episodes. But you know, if you love a show you see a lot of good things and tend to ignore the less good ones. Of course there are little problems here and there, like inconsistencies, some abandoned ideas, etc. Do not expect perfection, just a good ride. I hope you enjoy it.

    ReplyDelete
  71. That was fun!!   As SN fans have proven time and again, we do know how to win polls....but this one being a one vote per person (or at least per computer) where staying up all night voting wouldn't help, had me a little nervous up against a powerhouse like Fringe which airs on a bigger, more mainstream network.  It's always exciting to be up against an equally devoted fandom of what is undoubtedly a great show.  Great competition and well-done to the Fringe fans!!  (And it was so refreshing to not have all the nastiness that crops up in some polls!!

    ReplyDelete
  72. Season 1 is still great, and the end of season 1 is what got me hooked. It's probably a good place to start but it's like Fringe, it took until season 2 to find its footing.

    ReplyDelete
  73. That really is awesome but it also represents a wasted opportunity... :(

LOL.....the same can be said for SN!!  (And probably any show out there.)  I may just have to give Fringe another chance, too.  I stopped watching after S-1, but I guess there's more to it than I was seeing.  I know I started watching Castle after they nearly beat us in the E-online poll a year or so ago and I've really enjoyed it.

  75. Twitter jail is when you tweet so much that the people that run twitter stop you from tweeting for a certain amount of time.  I think 24 hours or something like that.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Congrats to Sergey for winning, and also to Zedd, Dahne, Adam, Chestal and Will for their clear-sightedness as they finished in the first places. On a personal level, I'm glad I managed somehow to get to the 4th place, I did not expect that at all after some crappy choices in the first round (Farscape, Prison Break, Gossip Girl, Dr Who and Friends would've gone much, much further according to me).

I can't talk about Supernatural since I don't watch it (yet), but
Fringe, Chuck and The Vampire Diaries are the only network dramas I will
watch next season alongside Nikita and probably The Good Wife since
I'll start catching up next week. I don't think there are many big
networks dramas worth watching nowadays, so I'm glad pretty much all of
those I watch made it to the top 5.I honestly did not find a new show to watch after the results of the competition, but it's been a while since I've wanted to get into Supernatural and The X-Files (I just can't find time to do so !) and surely such a support from their fans can only mean it's good stuff (I never doubted that though). Maybe next year for the new edition of the competition I'll be able to vote for either of them, I hope so anyway. This was the first time (and certainly not the last) that I participated to such a competition on this website. I had already voted in the polls in summer 2010 but I had not completed a bracket and didn't comment on the site, so this year was clearly more fun. You can count me in for the Character Competition, thanks again for organizing this.

    ReplyDelete
  77. I wanna thank you Adam for all the effort you put into this competition and all fans who participated in it. Next year, I just hope that Lost won't face some juggernaut like Supernatural or Vampire Diaries in the early rounds. lol And I'm happy to see that Game of Thrones managed to get into the TOP10 with only one aired season.

    ReplyDelete
  78. I love season 1 but it is the first season so it's a bit uneven and it has a lot of standalones.  At the beginning of every Supernatural episode, there is a previously section that helps people who haven't watched catch up.  I think you would have a pretty good gist of what happened if you started in season 2.  I would be happy to give you the basics about season 1 if you wanted to skip it.  Although if you end up addicted, you'll definitely want to go back.  My Twitter is @dahne1.

    ReplyDelete
  79. I'll keep that in mind.  I have an advantage of knowing much of what happens thanks to SpoilerTV so perhaps it will be easier for me to ride out any rough patches.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Thanks, I will definitely try and watch it at some point. Currently working my way through Fringe and reading the GoT books but giving SPN a go is next on the list! If only there were more hours in the day right?

    ReplyDelete
  81. It's when Adam puts on the guise of Alastair and tortures us until we decide we cannot take it anymore.  We get off the rack and start torturing others with excessive tweeting about the contest until their time lines are full and they are pulling out their hair.  We show no mercy as we contact everyone who has ever mentioned Supernatural in a tweet, turning them into hell hounds on a particularly good scent.  Then when hell itself cannot take it any longer, the King of Hell (aka Twitter police) order us to cease and desist for a couple of hours.  That allows us to get rested until the next go around.  4 hours in Twitter jail, well-rested and back to the torture until our own torture stops.  :-)

    ReplyDelete
  82. Wow. This was an intense competition. I've voted for Supernatural along the way, but this is the first time the Fandom really stressed about whether or not we could win. Congrats to the Fringe voters for such a close race! I'm glad Supernatural won as it's my #1 favorite TV show. I'm very into supernatural television shows as I really like all things supernatural. The acting is amazing! The show is like watching a scary movie each week. I love it!

    ReplyDelete
  83. I think a lot of shows do that, but what's good about watching things late is knowing how much better they get so there's more motivation to stick with it.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Very well said Airbat.  There's a reason why many of my favorite people on earth belong to the Supernatural fandom.  Like you!  ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  85. i knew us Supernatural fans could do it!!
i'm so happy it's over though. lol. love you, show!!! we prove again and again that Supernatural
fans will go to the ends of the earth to prove people wrong that SPN can do anything with each others help!!! we are a
family; a Supernatural family - dedicated and devoted! yay to the fans
who worked hard to vote and spread the word and yay to THE BEST TV SHOW
    EVER!!!! =D CONGRATULATIONS SUPERNATURAL!!! ♥
and Fringe, well played, well played. you almost had us, but i can see how both fandoms seem more dedicated than anyone show out there. that's pretty impressive. we will see each other in the near future.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Thanks Dahne. You did a great job too!
As I saw from your comments our tastes are very similar. That's cool, I think :)
And I also think that I will comment more often on this site and especially in the Character Competition polls.

    ReplyDelete
  87. "I can't talk about Supernatural since I don't watch it (yet)"

May I say that I love that little word "yet"!  I hope you get a chance to watch Supernatural.  We're only passionate because this little show grabbed us tight and won't let us go.  :-)

    ReplyDelete
  88. Game of Thrones was one of my biggest mistakes in predicting.  I underestimated it but I won't do that again.  I feel it will have an even better run next year.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Oh I loved Roswell when I was younger. I still think the pilot was great, because unlike other shows it seemed to find its footing almost straight away. Agree about the third season though, bar a few episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  90. So true.  My books to read stack is falling over right now as I've tried to catch up on these TV shows people keep telling me I have to watch.  Finished Haven, about to get to Leverage season 3, and in the middle of rewatching Fringe season 1.  It's a wonder I get in time to watch Supernatural over the summer.  :-)

    ReplyDelete
  91. Thanks darq.
Well, Michael Westen always will be one of the best characters for me. But he has no chances to win Character Cup, I think. :)
Honestly, most of the characters of my "A-list" shows (except SPN of course) have no chance to win. This fact makes me sad.
It's a little painfull to pick other characters instead of my favourites in the bracket. :)

    ReplyDelete
  92. Thank you for all this Adam!

    ReplyDelete
  93. Well I knew we had things in common when I saw you're icon.  Burn Notice is my second favorite show currently on TV along with White Collar.  I'm so glad you're going to comment in the Character polls.  I need someone to help me show others how awesome Fiona Glenanne is.

    ReplyDelete
  94. We just need to build up the Burn Notice fan base on SpoilerTV.  But yes, the Burn Notice crew have no hope this year.  I hate competing with my head but voting with my heart.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Tee hee, the SPN fandom is indeed a mirror of the Winchesters: They often get in a fight but when it counts they stand united.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Wow, what a close and competitive final!!  I'm so proud to be a part of both of these awesome fandoms!  Congrats to both shows!!

    ReplyDelete
  97. Almost all my friends started to watch BN after my obsessive agitation. Show is just adorable, all you need is just to watch the pilot, and ta-dam... you're hooked and want to see more eps. Always work. :)

    ReplyDelete
  98. The competition was so fun, thank you so much. I love what you said about a show being part of ourselves, thats exactly how I feel, there are shows like Buffy or Xena and many others, that I have loved for years with the same intensity as the first day I watched it if not more and it has become a part of me. And the good thing is it never stops.

So thanks, SpoilerTV, Adam and everybody else, you guys are awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Thanks, that's very kind :)

  102. @CW_Supernatural  is NOT the official twitter feed for Supernatural. It's a fan account, you can check out the @CW_Network  timeline where they confirm that and my own at @SammWinchester

    ReplyDelete
  103. Well, even with that mistake you seem to have fared very well in the contest. lol

    ReplyDelete
  104. My brackets are completely wrong and then when i do NCAA basketball brackets.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Wow this final was epic! I went to bed last night with Fringe within 100 votes then checked it about an hour before it would close and Supernatural was back up to like 400 votes past Fringe but they both kept fighting until the end. Over 22,000 votes is just crazy but I knew that this would be tough fought final and I knew from the start that if any show could beat SPN it would be Fringe and they definitely put up a good fight and got really close so congrats to all the Fringe fans!!  We SPN fans are just annoyingly tenacious aren't we?! ;)
Well after this final and the most romantic couple competition that Dean and Castiel won I'm really excited to see what happens in the next poll that SPN is involved in! Us Destiel fans have already become best buds with those Glee fans that follow Kurt and Blaine and created our own community thanks to TV Spoilers and Adam and now all of us SPN fans have bonded with the Fringe fans through this poll! I'm so happy there is so much love going on around on here and I can't wait to see who we become friends with in the next final (if we are in it) or if we face Glee or Fringe again! Either way it will probably be a whole lot of fun!!
Thank you Adam for all the work you do in putting these polls together, they have been crazy fun! Keep up the good work!! <3

  108. Not surprised by this. SPN has a very loyal and strong fanbase. Congrats SPN fans!

    ReplyDelete
  109. Congrats to Supernatural! And congrats to all the fans of both shows who voted their hearts out and spread the word. As intense as watching the voting was, as much fun was reading and commenting. And it shows that fans from different shows can get along. This competition was as intense as waiting to hear if Fringe got renewed for S4. Phew, I can sleep now. I am looking forward to next years competition.

DarkUFO, Adam and who else worked on this, awesome job!

    ReplyDelete
  110. Thank you for doing this, and WOOOOO HOOOO for Supernatural's win!

If anyone is wondering why Supernatural keeps winning all these online polls, do yourself a favor and check out the new season starting September 23rd on the CW!! You will not be disappointed.

I RARELY obsess over a show. The last one I did was The X-Files.  Needless to say, I love sci-fi and the supernatural and have watched this show from the beginning, and re-watch it often on DVD. But what really keeps bringing me back to this show is the chemistry and relationship between the brothers. Yes, the show is creepy and scary, but it is also all about family bonds, and that is what is really special about this show.

Finally, congratulations to Firefly for kicking The Vampires Diaries' ass!!!

    ReplyDelete
  111. Why?  I've already watched every episode of season 1 and 2 but before I watch season 3, I have to rewatch 1 and 2.  If not, I'm not sure I will remember everything that happened.  I do the same thing with books which is why I hate starting a series that isn't completed yet.  Harry Potter almost killed me.  Thank goodness it was worth rereading over and over and over again.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Plus you learn very useful things.  I love Michael's online spy tips and the voice overs.  Best one - "Guns make you stupid.  Duct tape makes you smarter."  I love using that line.

    ReplyDelete
  113. We appreciate the support we got from many Supernatural sites.  It was great to see so many sites fully support the effort here and pass the word along to their followers.  Without all those great people, we would never have won the contest especially with the huge amount of votes it took to win.  I am thankful to everyone who supported us.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Serg Sev I know exactly what you mean about "A-List" shows! I feel the actors have little shot of winning much like the series themselves did poorly in the Best Show Competition... for the most part.

    ReplyDelete
  115. I loved the finale. The rest were OK.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Darn straight they did... I had trouble falling asleep each evening because they kept over taking us at night and we would flip back and forth. I was trying to think of some of the non-US fans that I had met at conventions so that I could Email them and get them to vote...

    ReplyDelete
  117. I agree. I watched the first season of Fringe right after it aired but I never watched any more of it... It was just too dark for me. But, after the classy way most of the fans behaved (encouraging each other and praising their show instead of attacking Supernatural), I am going to give Fringe another go. It must perk up a bit after season 1 to have fans this rabid about it. I really appreciate a show that can earn rabid fans that are really enthusiastic about their show (not just in love with a pairing).

    ReplyDelete
  118. That kind of made me go all fan!girl. I love that quote!

congrats to everyone who did so well in the bracket :D

  121. this coments about both series are perfect and the fans who follow them are true belivers we know how on friday nights this fans realy watch each series example i see spn on time and wait cuople of hours to watch fringe in the internet and viceversa fringe fans watch on time his show and later supernatural on internet no all do that but some did is ok we dont betray any show because they are good and the storylines are diferent thats is the reason  for the results was so close 50/50.
