Welliver has been cast as Triphammer in 'Powers,' and if the pilot gets picked up to series, his role will be recurring.
Triphammer is described by the network as both "a genius and a narcissist," a combination of Steve Jobs and Donald Trump. He's not just a powerful force in his own right, he has invented technology that can both bestow and remove superhuman abilities.

This show is awsome. Looks like gonna be one of the beste superhero-series ever. Better than Heroes, and since it`s FX it wont go as much haywire as Heroes did. Damm, Heroes screwed itself after the second season.
ReplyDeleteOMG I need to see this show. I love shows with Super Powers. We got Alphas and not Powers. I hope they are both better then Heroes turned out to be.
ReplyDeleteYou just beat me.. glad I checked before I posted,,, XD
ReplyDeleteThis show sounds more promising with every detail I find out about it.....
Yay, Titus! Now it has him and Alona Tal. LOL at an SPN actors reunion.
ReplyDeleteI think they casted Welliver more because of how awsome actor he has been on shows like Lost, SoA and The Good Wife instead of SPN. FX have already stated they never want to make a show like Supernatural one time.
ReplyDeleteMaybe but when I saw the news I immediately thought WAR. That guy's creepy in anything. Supernatural has a lot of awesome guest stars and I'm glad they have a role in another show that may prove interesting. FX will probably be happy with the Supernatural fans who check their show out simply because of these actors.
ReplyDeleteDang, more and more reason to see this.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, Powers is an awesome read, it hooks you from the first scene, dialogue is very catchy, like a good criminal If done right, it will reinvent the super-powers shows.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree. Don't forget Deadwood.. he was incredible on Deadwood!
ReplyDeleteSometimes actors are cast because of their following and other times they are cast because of their acting skills and ability to fit the role. This was definitely the latter in my mind.
I have high hopes. Dark, gritty and based in "reality" more so than most comic book hero shows.
ReplyDeleteEven if this show doesn't get a series pickup, I REALLY want to get a look at this pilot.
ReplyDeleteTitus!! Alright!! Pullin for ya!
ReplyDeletehope it gets picked up :D
ReplyDeleteThe only concern I have is the writer, Charles Eglee is a puzzle for me, loved his work on The Shield, kinda meh on Dexter and The Walking Dead. And also Jason Patric who is known from being very problematic to work with, but he is great actor, never really thought about him but he has chops to pull off Walker. Michael Dinner is awesome, he will deliver.
ReplyDeleteThey are putting together a really great cast, I don't think FX will pass on it.
ReplyDeleteEverytime I start thinkning this show can't get any more interesting, more new info leaks out and I'm proven wrong....
