  3. I'm not sure how I felt about Cause&Effect-man in this episode. I like the idea of a person being able to factor in an impossible amount of variables and predict outcomes. I'm just not sure I like the idea of a person being able to factor in EVERY variable and never predict the wrong outcome. Some things you cannot see or feel or hear, so how exactly does one predict their effect? Regardless, it was painfully obvious he would be alive and use a quarter to save himself.

Not to mention I've seen sharpshooters fire pistol rounds through quarters at a longer distance away... even through silver dollars. had Marcus worn a vest or a small ,metal plate in his pocket I would have been good, but not a thin quarter.

I hope there will be some clandestine organization or over-arching plot that carries on throughout the season so Alphas doesn't become a typical procedural with more unique investigators. Maybe the Binghhamton Institute is one part of that larger picture...  This felt like a bad episode of Criminal minds with a less likable, albeit more uniquely skilled team.

Despite David Strathairn being perfect in his role and pretty darmn good tonight, I found the episode boring and ironically predictable. They need to fill in the characters back story more, more exposition is needed so I can connect to them or even remotely care. Right now Rosen is very interesting, Cameron  and Harken somewhat and the others are just there.

This episode got a poor rating from me. It turned an interesting premise with potential  into a procedural with a cast I don't really care about.

  4. I enjoyed this episode and liked the fleshing out of the seeming mythology arc of the "shadowy organization with sinister motives" as it would be too easy to settle in to the "alpha problem child of the week". I really enjoyed the development of Dr Rosen and felt that David Strathairn was great tonight. The team needs more development, but I'm guessing that is coming.

  5. I immediately thought of Fringe too.

Maybe they felt that last week's episode concentrated on the alpha agents so much that hey wanted to have a Rosen-centric episode to let viewers really conect to him. It worked for me and Strathairn was brilliant in my opinion too.

I hope they continue to play up the Institute or the shadowy organization behind The Institute. It should pull me in more and will give them a chance to explore the alpha's backgrounds.

  6. I gave it a Poor rating as well. I defended the Pilot because it set up an interesting premise and hoped that that they would change some stuff up in the second episode. Unfortunately this show is just too boring. I might catch up when the season is over or if I hear really good things but at this point it is off my list of TV to watch.

  7. I quite liked this and the pilot. But this didn't keep me quite as hooked as the pilot did. I only gave it an Okay rating. I'm not giving up yet though, hopefully it'll impress me more over the next few episodes.

  9. I think they are starting to show evidence that the Alpha team really is on the wrong side.  They are catching their own to have them experimented on..  it might really shake up the team when they learn the Dr. they trust was sending other Alphas off to torture.  So they can play along w/ the FBI and sabotage from the inside or break away & join the fight against scared non Alphas??  I also cannot believe the Dr. is just now realizing the error of calling them Alphas, he elevated them above average humans with his name for them.. now he wants to preach cohesion?

I feel like they're still establishing things so while I liked it I was a little bored

  11. I agree with pinkphoenix, I was bored with this episode but I'm going to give the show a few more chances to set-up the plot.

  12. I didn't buy the Alpha of the week, especially since a similar character was on Fringe last season.  There  wasn't enough character stuff either, with the exception of Strathairn's character.
