New Ausiello blind item: TV show plans a time warp during season premiere

1 Jul 2011

Bones won’t be the only show doing the time warp this fall. Sources confirm to TVLine exclusively that another hourlong hit with a crazy-rabid, er, passionate fan base will jump forward in time — but there’s a twist.

Unlike Bones, which is implementing a six-month bounce between Seasons 6 and 7, the show in question will pick up right where last May’s season-ending cliffhanger left off… and then flash forward at some point during the episode.

The insider wouldn’t reveal the exact magnitude of the time jump, except to say that it will be somewhere between three and 18 months. The source adds, somewhat cryptically, that, “Things are very different when the action picks up. A lot happens during that [skipped] time.”

  1. I saw someone guessing House and that seems to make the most sense to me.

  2. That would be my guess, and would probably get them around the immediate
aftermath of the finale car smash

  3. thought so too..picking up with the shooting and then jumping forward to the new captain

Could it be Supernatural again, even though they did a time jump with season 6?

  5. I'd say Castle cos they'd have to show the immediate aftermath of the shooting, and then fastforward to when Beckett's back on the job, cos seeing her recuperate would be kinda boring for the show. Fanfics, it's great lol, for the show, it goes against the concept. Either that, or Chuck, which was the first thing that came into my head for some reason.

  6. I going with Castle too!

    ReplyDelete
  7. Castle maybe. Even Grey's Anatomy. Who knows?

    ReplyDelete
  8. I'd say Castle too. But then there's also House, and possibly Supernatural or maybe Fringe... But I think Castle is my top pick.

  9. Crap. Every show I watch could fit this blind item except The Good Wife. (Since episode 3.01 is called "The Next Day")

  10. I thought about Castle...then I read here about House... now I don't know what to think!!

    ReplyDelete
  11. Castle fits too, but the picture at the source looks like a blurry Joshua Jackson, so Fringe?

    ReplyDelete
  12. I'd take a guess at House... I recon it would fit in... Epecially with Cuddy leaving :(

    ReplyDelete
  13. I would say, Chuck. Would fit with the Season 4 cliffhanger, and help setup enough story to move into the final season. Plus, the crazy-rabid description fits :D

  14. How about Vampire Diaries or Nikita?

    ReplyDelete
  15. My guess is House too. That makes sense and they don't have to show us a whole season with House in jail ;)

    ReplyDelete
  16. I think the most likely suspects are Castle, Chuck, or Supernatural. All three shows have a reason for a time jump and have a rabid fanbase.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Fringe was my first thought, but I think House makes a lot of sense.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Not a bad guess.  They would have to show fans how they got away from Cas immediately but then a short break would allow then to jump right into how they plan to fight/fix him.  I expect that to be the season-long arc.  Plus, Bones did a year long time jump last season too so it's not unprecedented.

  19. I saw crazy-rabit, er, passionate fanbase and immediately thought of Supernatural.

    ReplyDelete
  20. That's exactly what I thought as well.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I'll go with Supernatural, too.  House's fanbase isn't known for being rabid, although they do have to explain Cuddy leaving.  Castle is a possibility, but I don't see Chuck needing to flash forward, unless they do something stupid like bring Team Bartowski back into the CIA fold and make them lose all of the money Volkoff gave them.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Supernatural does seem like a possibility

    ReplyDelete
  23. Fringe or Supernatural. both of those shows have majorly passionate fan bases

    ReplyDelete
  24. Castle or House gets my vote too. Hoping it's not NCIS, although flashing forward could help them move on from the train wreck of the finale. Nah, Castle or House.

    ReplyDelete
  25. House and Castle are both good choices.  I don't buy the Supernatural guess.  There are better stories to be told without the time jump.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I'll go with Fringe or Supernatural.  If it is Supernatural, I hope SOMEONE on staff actually keeps track of the time jump this season  Somewhere in the middle of last season they forgot that Sam was away from Dean for a year and they were supposed to be in 2011-2012 instead of 2010-2011.

  27. It could be interesting if FRINGE came back to the alternates all meeting and realizing they are in fact the First People and either their attempts to right their wrongs results in a time jump, or they jump ahead to show the results and then work backwards.

With the producers comments and the doomsday device being a time machine of sorts, I guess I would not be shocked if Ausiello's "spoiler" is the old news that Season Four of Fringe deals with time travel.

  28. Supernatural....i'm betting there's a time jump into the new world order that Castiel has established.
Perhaps the world will be even more aware of the Supernatural elements, as Castiel has shown on numerous occasions that he fins the secrecy unnecessary

    ReplyDelete
  29. imo it could be castle or criminal minds, maybe ncis

    ReplyDelete
  30. Dare I guess SUPERNATURAL?

It could be Castle or Supernatural or any show that ended on a cliffhanger (how original am I? lol)

    ReplyDelete
  32. from what I've heard Sam and Dean are more likely to be on the run from Cas more than trying to fix him.

I have some really juicy spoilers about Jensens episode but I dont think I'm going to share simply because I enjoy laughing at all the whiny fans who think they know whats going to happen before it actually does.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I've heard a lot about them being on the run too and I like that idea.  They have to use their wits then to get out of messes.

    ReplyDelete
  34. My guess is Fringe.

    ReplyDelete
  35. My first thought is Castle, but I don't think they would have much to gain from it... where would the Josh vs Castle fight come in?
My best bet is on SVU, since they need to explain what happened to Meloni and they need to do it quick.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Mentalist maybe? Them seeing that there is no gun or phone with calls from O'Loughlin, Jane and Lisbon discussing claiming insanity, and then flash forward to them in court??

    ReplyDelete
  37. Not sure but my guess is between Criminal Minds, The Mentalist, or Castle.  But seeing as Castle has very very passionate fans it makes sense to me.

    ReplyDelete
  38. ooh..i like really juicy spoilers...i wonder if cas will be in the episode??? have u heard?

    ReplyDelete
  39. I was thiking that as well, but I've read a few articles that stated that the new season will pretty much pick up where S3 ended...

    ReplyDelete
  40. Could be Hawaii Five-0 as well. It would make sense as rumors say that McG will be back in the saddle in 2.02.

  41. UPDATE: via @michaelausiello
"Blind Item Clue: The hit show in question has a one-word title."

    ReplyDelete
  42. Add me on the Supernatural bandwagon (I could believe the Castle bit too, but there is that whole "Between Season 6 and Season 7" thing that disqualifies them).

    ReplyDelete
  43. It's either Chuck, House, Castle or Supernatural

    ReplyDelete
  44. Baptiste DEVILLARDS1 July 2011 at 22:16

Could be Chuck. That would explain the premiere title (Chuck vs The Zoom), as well as fast forward (at least part of) Morgan's training if he ever need one and maybe put a Charah baby on a plausible timeline, I think it's a present that Shwedak would be pleased to give the fans in the end.

Just wild guesses. Time will probably tell since Ausiello almost never reveals his blind items.

  45. Not hearing any news on Cas, as far as I know so far it sounds like he will not be in the episode but that isn't yet confirmed.

All I'm going to tell you is the character Amy in episode 3 has a big secret.

Also from what I'm hearing this episode may be more along the lines of HEART than AFTER SCHOOL SPECIAL if not somewhere in between.

  46. I don't think they can do that unless they downplay Beckett getting shot. With that injury she would need several months off.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Well, they said it will start at the normal time and then jump ahead during the episode. For Castle it would pick up right where Beckett gets shot, them going to the hospital where Josh and Castle fight for some reason, then at some point skip ahead to Beckett being able to come back to work after months of rehab.

SVU is a good choice too and would help explain Stabler's absence as well as Olivia's mid-season promotion.

    ReplyDelete
  48. He was talking about Bones with the "between season six and seven" thing.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Rumors I heard are that she is a monster from a line of monsters.  Her mom is somehow involved.  Nothing confirmed.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Isn't funny how he always adds bits of info that never narrow down the field?  So House, Castle, Chuck, Fringe, or Supernatural are still possible.  (snickers)  Also, there are a lot of one word titles right now.  Never really thought about that.

    ReplyDelete
  51. The Vampire Diaries would be my guess with the way that season two ended. I imagine the jump forward would lead us to a larger mystery for the season of what Stefan has been up to with Klaus and what's been going on in Jeremy's life with his new gift. Not to mention what sort of tension has been building between Elena/Damon and Caroline/Tyler.

i reckon it could be supernatural (i don't watch any of the other shows people have mentioned) but for some reason i'm kinda hoping it isn't
not sure why because everything the writers do is great, i just feel hesistant about it

then again, the last time supernatural had a time warp was in the first 5 minutes of the very first episode where the show moved forward 22 years and that ended pretty well :D

    ReplyDelete
  53. I vote House, cause how the hell else are they gonna get out of this fix?

    ReplyDelete
  54. House or Castle

    ReplyDelete
  55.  Yeah, my vote goes to Chuck too. Ausiello never tells..

NCIS: Los Angeles is my guess
