"season premiere will revolve around giant sinkhole" I thought that was a metaphor about how the episode will suck but, apparently, it's an actual sinkhole.
Watching all of Heroes is like ordering one of those ridiculously large steaks from a steakhouse. You know, the ones that get your picture up on the wall if you can finish it all.
At first, it's a lot of fun and it's delicious and you're in awe of what you see in front of you. Then, you get about halfway through and you get this feeling that something is off and it's not that fun anymore. By the time it's almost done, looking at it makes you queasy and the only thing helping you finish it is the thought of not seeing it there anymore.
Symbolic of the ratings? Can Jackson, April, Teddy and Callie fall in the hole - never to be seen again please? Callie can even sing a song as she falls if she wants to so long as its the last time I have to see the character on my TV.
I think there's quite some shows that have that effect on a lot of people.
And also, those shows are doing it kinda right, aren't they? They keep an audience even if the show is maybe not the best. Why? Because they managed to gain the viewers' interest within the first episodes / first season and then they wanna know how it all will turn out, even if the show gets worse. Curiosity always gets the best of us after all, doesn't it?
That being said. I sometimes don't even know why I'm still watching GA. But then again, there's some characters I really like and I always enjoy seeing, so I do just what you said: overlook some other stuff ...
And last but not least: I don't get what can be symbolic about a "sinkhole" ... maybe it's because I'm not a native speaker. But whatever the reason, I don't get it. But then again, neither of the people commenting here seems to have an actual idea about its meaning ... except for the obvious mean (but sadly true) ones.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Huh, interesting. Can't wait for that!

I read it the same way! XD
ReplyDeleteI thought... isn't it redundant to say Grey's Anatomy and sink hole in the same sentence?
Honestly, Grey's has always been somewhat ridiculous but it's never anything the fans aren't willing to overlook.
ReplyDeleteHey if I like a show I can overlook a lot so I understand.... I watched all 4 seasons of Heroes. XD
ReplyDeleteUgh. Heroes. Yeah, I watched it all too.
