Grey's Anatomy - Season 8 - Meredith and Derek will get back together

Rhimes has some reassuring news for MerDer fans. While the couple ended last season apart, "we open the [first] episode with Derek working on their dream house, and I would love to have them moving in around the end of the season." Expect their newly adopted baby to be the reason for their reunion. "Baby Zola is transformative for Meredith, and what happens will be painful, unexpected and wonderful."

As for Cristina's unplanned pregnancy, we'll know by the end of the September 22 season premiere whether or not she keeps the baby.

Other story lines in the works:

A giant sinkhole opens up in a Seattle street during the two-hour premiere.
New chief resident April will likely lose her virginity.
We'll meet Jackson's mom; Debbie Allen is mulling over the role.
Alzheimer's-stricken Adele will continue to decline.
A Shepherd family reunion for Derek and his mother and sisters is in the works.

    Maybe the Shepherds will help Amelia get back on the wagon after her relapse.

    And yay, MerDer reunite. I now have faith in the show again!

    Be aware. take everything Shonda says with a huge dose of salt, hope for the best but expect something different. Perhaps this is a cynical view but Shonda is known to pacify fans only to throw a cannon ball in for good measure. 
    If Cristina decides to keep the baby then they need an awesome writer to carry that off. Seriously awesome writer to change and legitimise 7 seasons worth of characterisation. I'm not saying it can't be done but I am saying that it's a tough one to write. 
    Given the likelihood that it's PD's last season it's not surprising that the family play a big part of the storyline especially with Amelia bottoming out in PP. 

    Jackson storyline - don't care. Love Debbie Allen, and she's needed to give some kind of depth to Jackson's character but seriously he's a waste of airtime. 

    Very much looking forward to April's antics. Whilst under-developed this character has serious comedy potential and is so well played by Sarah Drew. She may have been annoying at the start but with a good story she will shine.

    That's the only news of any interest to me.  I hope this means they're bringing Embeth Davidtz back.

    The family reunion is the most exciting!!! Finally, PD in the forefront for an episode or two!!!! I'm glad that MerDer are going to be ok but I'm wary of the painful, unexpected and wonderful part of that!!!! That means more pain for MerDer!!!! As long as they stay together and get the screen time they deserve then I'm ok with that!!!!!

    Not surprised MerDer are getting back together, interesting we see the McDreamy female clan.  So sad about Adele, I hope they do it with extreme care.  Please Please Please Debbie Allen come to Grey's!!!!!!!!!!

    What's wrong with Owen wanting a child? If she doesn't want one, maybe they shouldn't be together. But it doesn't mean that one person deserved better. It means they didn't think before they got married because wanting a child is a game changer.

    Owen knew Cristina long before they got married, so he knew how she felt about this. And they got married just because Cristina wasn't herself, she was scared and needed security and that marriage gave her security. Owen knew Cristina but he's expecting her to change, just as Burke did. I agree she deserves better than that. Just my opinion :)

    meredith and derek got back together and recover Zola in episode 10 " sudently "... and Shepherds didn't help Amelia get back... I think that Derek even now that. Addison and Ellis will return to grey's anatomy in a special episode that will begin on 12 February 2012...
