Glee - Chris Colfer Learned He Was Leaving via Twitter

Chris Colfer found out he was being written of Glee after season 3 on Twitter.
"I didn't necessarily know that it was going to be our last season next year," he tells Access Hollywood a few days after show creator Ryan Murphy first revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that Colfer, Lea Michele and Cory Monteith would graduate after the next season.

    I really dislike this growing trend of letting people find out about their jobs via twitter. That poor Rachel Nichols from Criminal Minds found out she was fired because CBS announced it before telling her. Ryan Murphy should have told his actors that this season was their last before telling the world. It's common courtesy.

    I hate when actors (or anyone involved with production for that matter) find out via the internet they are fired or in this case, done after next season.

    Let's be honest though, there has been talk for a year now that some would graduate, since the season ended it has been put out to MANY media sources. If he did not have a clue he was done this year, then he is clueless on another level as well!

    Maybe he thought that he would not be graduating first because his character is so popular and he is getting critic love for it.  It does seem strange that they are getting rid of some of their heavy hitters first.

    Well Finn and Rachel I get leaving since they always seemed to be upperclassmen. Kurt I never had a good grip on honestly. He could have been younger, but he was driving in Season 1 if I recall so he was likely at least a junior this year. 

    It's one of those odd situations. If the series lasts they will continually be getting rid of the senior members and therefore the likely soloists and members we know best. It does seem counter-intuitive for sure, but I'm not sure it's avoidable...
