My guess is that if Kit's character has to brave extreme weather conditions he will have to deal with some cold weather in Iceland while shooting. At least he can enjoy natural hot springs after. XD
ReplyDeleteI am both intrigued and maybe a little worried about the changes from the books. I loved the new scenes in Season One and did not mind most of the changes. But adding new characters or making larger scale changes to the script to keep it fresh for readers and viewers alike scares me.
I'm not always a fan of the major changes from book to HBO's True Blood... in fact usually I prefer the books by far.
Adding half a dozen Comic-Con Portraits from EW to the Comic-Con Photo Archive, but thought they'd be good right here too.
ReplyDeleteI don't recognize the brunette girl. Is that Daenerys, de-bleached?
ReplyDeleteYep. Those GoT women look mighty different d-bleached! XD
ReplyDeleteThat's her (Emilia Clarke). Although, she wore a wig for her role as Daenerys. No bleach.
ReplyDeleteAdding few other Got CC photos I found.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree. In True Blood you can´t recognize a lot of the characters anymore. They are so different from the book, and it is not for the better.
ReplyDeleteI am a little worried that they are making changes. I understand that they choose to move Jaimes story forward, because his absence would be felt. But that is still true to the overall story. Adding extra scenes are ok, it work out fine in season 1. But I really hope that they don´t get new characters and completely new story lines (like in TB).
Some of the new characters could be around Robb. As he is not a PoV in the books, but a much bigger character in the series, there might be more people around him.
ReplyDeleteOr in Jaime's story too , since he is not a POV in Book 2....
ReplyDeleteI trust the creative team after a brilliant Season One for the most part. I just get nervous knowing there is so much good source material.... why go away from it just to change things up?
So much has to be cut or tweaked to shift from individual POVs to a coherent series . I would think that is challenge enough without creating new roles. There will have to be a lot of "deleted scenes" from the book added to the series. Stuff that happened "off camera" in the book gets written into the series and those roles and stories need to be created.
So maybe I am getting nrvous for nothing and it's more about filling in the details left out because of GRRM's writing style and not JUST to be different from the books.....
I guess some of the new characters could be in Jaime´s story. Like other prisoners, but we know that they are gonna move his story line from book 3 up. I hope that they don´t add people to that story, that would be a shame.
ReplyDeleteIn the series they made some of the characters storys much bigger than in the book, like Robb or Renly and that´s ok with me. I just don´t like them adding on totally new characters as there is plenty off great characters from the book to choose from.
I didn´t like Ros in season 1 and I hope there won´t be more characters like her.
They'll probably add some stuff for Robb and Jaime... and make some adjustments to fit the whole thing for TV.
ReplyDeleteI highly doubt they'll venture too far off the books.
