Is it just me or does it seem like this interviewer doesn't know Kirk already came back to Fringe since the start of season 2? That and misspelling Anna made this interview seem extremely unprofessional to me.
man, i love this guy! i'll never get over charlie's death. if there's one thing i could change about fringe i would have never had him killed! back for a few episodes... so not enough!!!
Agree this interview wasn't done very well, but I'm shocked to learn that Kirk was actually FIRED from Fringe back then. That makes no sense. He was an important part of the show and his absence was felt. What could he have done that would make them fire him? When you think of how long Charlie Sheen was kept around despite his shenanigans, makes no sense to get rid of a good guy.
i guess is more like they decided to take that turn with the character and it inevitably meant firing kirk acevedo. they probably thought it was necessary plot wise -it's true that the only person close to olivia that they could choose to be replaced by a shapeshifter was charlie. but i think the show has suffered a lot more than what it earned with that plot line.
I loved Charli ... but how possibly now .. they will revive him or the shapshifter never replaced him ? .. that's will open so many doors about what happens and what's not .
at first i thought it was the perfect excuse to have him back as a regular too, but he's already said that contractually he can only do a few episodes...
I thought he was also fired because of all the season 2 financial cuts? I feel like I remember reading about that. It's pretty normal to cut minor characters in such situations, and I do think they chose the best character to cut. I'm more willing to give up Charlie than Astrid, Nina or Broyles. I'm still so glad to have Scarlie!
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Yay! Charlie is BACK! :D woohoo!
ReplyDeleteHow freaky would that have been if he named his son Charlie Francis Acevedo and then got the role of Charlie Francis on Fringe years later?
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Scarlie is back. Too bad Prime Suspect will severely limit his appearances.

ReplyDeletethat would have been one crazy cool coinkydink
ReplyDeleteIt's the internet. My expectations aren't that high.
ReplyDeleteLOL! Agreed.
ReplyDeleteOnly Alt-Charlie? They better make his limited screen time count then.
ReplyDeleteCool guy. Hope "Prime suspect" does well.
ReplyDeleteI guess that with Peter or not Charlie still died over here.

ReplyDeletePeter not existing didn't have an effect on whether or not Charlie died originally.
ReplyDeleteMe too. Should have kept Charlie.
