thank you for the link. I´m so excited. I hope Fringe gets a nomination (hopefully for John Noble as that is the one that is least impossible, altough I would love one for Anna as well)
Noble would be definitely deserved, but Torv is seriously over-rated by many Fringe fans. She's solid, but nothing more. And I found her performance while she was the hostbody for Bell rather strange.
Finally, I do love Torv's acting, and I understand those who commend her for the whole double part thing well, but I think other's have done it better, even in recent years, Ali Larter as Nicki / Jessica (I'm discounting Tracy because that was the pure stupidest plot twist I've ever experienced) was, in my opinion, better at displaying two different persona.
It's so annoying how some of those nominated really don't deserve it, and there are other shows/actors that have worked so hard and really do deserve an award but don't get the recognition.
Because Emmy voters are complacent and nominate the same stuff again and again and again. Sometimes it's deserved (Mad Men), sometimes it's infuriating because great shows like Community need more eyeballs on them and would benefit greatly from the attention, but alas, Emmy voters rather vote for what they've always voted for (30 Rock, Office) or successful new stuff (Glee, Big Bang Theory, Modern Family).
I am so tired of these kind of comments. As you should be able to recognize from my comment I watch the show, I've seen every episode. But apart from John Noble the acting on Fringe is just okay, but definitely not outstanding. Torv isn't an exception. Especially when you compare her to the nominees. And I found the episodes when William Bell was using her body rather bad. One of the reasons was Torv's acting. It's just my opinion and I can accept others, but I'd prefer a bit more than a stale one-line response.
@Stickoxydal:disqus Couldn't agree more. The cast's bond is trong and that makes for great TV, but the lead actors are not outstanding aside from Noble. The supporting cast and the writing are the strength FRINGE - not the lead actors abilities.
I was a little disappointed by mid-season as the third season premiere set such a high bar. As I've mentioned in the forum, I think the only plus was Joshua Jackson's performance in the season finale, which was his strongest to date.
I'm sorry I did not want to offend anyone. I believe that Anna has been outstanding this season, even when she has played William Bell and the rest of the cast did a great job, but I also understand that everyone has their own way of seeing things, and rightly so :)
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I'm so excited, it's like Christmas!!!!!!

ReplyDeletecurious to see how many, if any, Grey's "end of contract" actors get a nod. Sandra Oh surely.
ReplyDeleteSo this is in about an hour, right? Or have I miscalculated to german time?
ReplyDeleteAnyone here pulling for anything "Southland"?
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited about this!
ReplyDeleteYeah, it starts in an hour.
ReplyDeleteYou're right, it will begin in an hour from now.
ReplyDeleteyes- 13.30 British Summer Time, 14.30 Central European Time
ReplyDeletePulling for Mad Men (although I don't really need to, nominations are a sure thing), and I really, really hope Community gets some deserved attention.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait!
ReplyDeleteAny "Southland" fans?

ReplyDeleteWhere can I find the embed code to get the streaming on a web site? Please answer me :)
ReplyDeleteCan someone tell me where are the Emmy and what time in Spain?
ReplyDeleteit half an hour from now i think

ReplyDeleteMcHale is so cool
ReplyDeleteI thought it was stupid lol
ReplyDeleteIf Jon Hamm wasn't already my mancrush, it'd be Joel. :D
ReplyDeleteYay, Game of Thrones got its first nomination!
ReplyDeleteJustified instead of Dexter and outstanding drama would have been flawless.
ReplyDeleteDid it freeze for anyone else?
ReplyDeleteFor me at least.
ReplyDeleteyes :(
ReplyDeleteLOUIS CK! Yes!
ReplyDeleteGlad for Parks and Amy Poehler!
ReplyDeleteDid Community get any love?
ReplyDeleteNope. :(
ReplyDeleteBig Bang Theory over Community? Really, Emmys?
ReplyDeleteWhat about Glee over Community? That's even worse.
ReplyDeleteyay for poehler and parks! well deserved!
ReplyDeleteCurrently on season 1 of glee so I can't comment on its apparent decline.
ReplyDeleteI don't have anything against Glee, but I do feel that it is vastly overrated. And I think Community deserves much more recognition.
ReplyDeletePeter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister) got nominated as best supporting actor for GoT! So happy.
ReplyDeleteNo John Noble! But Happy for Josh Charles, Alan Cumming and PETER DINKLAGE!No Community but Glee is nominated? ... -_-'
ReplyDeleteNo Community, Sons of Anarchy, or John Noble nomination = Emmys fail
ReplyDeleteWhy is The Office still being nominated? It hasn't been good for years.
ReplyDeleteNo Sean Bean nomination = another fail.

ReplyDeleteSoooo disappointed. I am going to eat some serious toast now...
ReplyDeleteEvidently you've never seen Fringe.

Absolutely right choice IMO.

No offense taken, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
