Community - Season 3 - John Goodman Joins Cast

Goodman, who's currently appearing on Damages, will play Dean Laybourne, a new Dean to Greendale. He will appear in six episodes.

Creator Dan Harmon recently told TVGuide.com that Goodman's character would be "somewhat kind of a dark figure on campus," but other details about the character were not immediately available. In particular, it remains unclear what Goodman's casting means for Jim Rash's Dean Pelton.

    I find myself oddly excited about this.  Will be interesting to see what "a dark figure on campus" means. I'm getting visions of a bigger, less pink Umbridge or community college as mafia front vibe.

    Doubtful. Many colleges have more than one dean. And we already have a spoiler talking about "the vice-dean of Greendale's air conditioning repair annex will be a recurring character in season
    3", so maybe that's Goodman's character.
