Charlie Sheen's New TV Show is like 'Anger Management'

Jul 7, 2011

TMZ has learned some new facts about Charlie Sheen's new sitcom

Sources directly involved in the project say the man who is making it all happen is uber-producer Joe Roth, who produced and owns the screenplay to the 2003 movie, "Anger Management."

We're told Charlie's character will stray a bit from the movie role. The plan as of now -- Charlie's character will be an ex-jock who got his master's degree in social work during the offseason. He becomes a counselor to defendants in the criminal justice system with anger management problems. But, of course, Charlie's character will have anger issues of his own.

We're told the deal with Lionsgate is not done, but is in the final stages of negotiations. And we're told, there is no deal with a network to air the show -- at least not yet.

  2. How anyone in their right mind would want to work with him is BEYOND my comprehension.

  3. I will watch it since I think he is entertaining and the role fits him perfectly. Ilook forward to it being picked up and then actually performing better than critics expect.

  4. seems to me it fits him just as well as his previous role in TAAHM. I will give it shot, I guess.

  5. I heard he was going to prove his range this time by naming his character "Charles".

  6. That's actually what I've been thinking as well.
I mean, he sure knows how to make money and other people who wanna make money sure know they still can make money with him.

I'm not saying this show will be bad without having seen it. But it seriously surprised me to see news about him getting a deal for a new show so soon.

  7. If it does, it won't happen for long.

  8. I loved the original movie... But this sounds REALLY odd. I don't think I would wish unemployment on anyone, but he should probably get his life in order before coming back to TV xD.
